Okay...if you've been on nairaland alone and yet, you can't see anything men need to unlearn or relearn...then there's nothing I can tell you. If a person can't see anything wrong with their actions, who can convince them? It's something that takes inner reflection, to admit being wrong.

Then again, men would need to be considerate, and place themselves in the shoes of women, which is something many guys hardly do.

Take for instance, men's role in the act of abortion. Many men simply expect women to go through it, without thinking of the pain or the life and death danger the women are facing. The nonchalant attitude shows how little they respect women or care.

There are so many angles to point out, but it's my opinion. If my opinion offends you, I am sorry. It's not my intention to be rude or 'condescending'. Yet I can't change it to please anyone.

I hope one day Nigerian men can learn to treat all women with respect.

Why would they let him do that? Something that the family should have fought tooth and nail against. Even lesser families can fight against such. It's very puzzling why a supposed loving family would allow this.

Honestly this some people's mental issue. they do want everyone to act like them. It is very bad to demean or tag someone as crazy, just because they aren't like you. For me, as long as others are not doing things that harm or hurt anywhere or anybody, they are okay. People who are different are just different, not crazy or weird.

Or they should just admit, 'okay, you're different from me and I don't really vibe with your type of person'. But no, it's to make you feel bad about yourself that they prefer.

Stop trying to control women while you guys live life as you wish.

It depends on your belief. I am not foisting my belief on anybody. I believe in being there for one's sibling. I practice that. For anyone else, it's up to what they choose to believe.

I don't think anything I stated has to do with being a substitute parent. Being there for each other is not necessarily about being a substitute parent.

And who ratted her out? Who put the idea of a DNA test to the guy? It was a friend of hers. Women find it hard to see real friendship from each other. Never do bad things with your female friend especially, because it is that same person that will expose you and destroy you.

Though no one should feel entitled, I believe that the elder brother should help, out of kindness.

If I have more than one child, I will do my utmost best to kill sibling rivalry and encourage kindness between them. They must know that all they really have in this world is each other. They must have a very very strong bond forever. Never to embarrass, never to make fun of each other, to always stand by each other and smile while seeing each other succeed...

Your sibling should see you as their precious one in this world, they should care about your feelings and welfare. Even the foreigners we support help their siblings without question, some of them though, not all.

My dad is a really good dad but he's old now and we don't talk about much anymore.

My Mom has been an amazing Mom but she currently has breast cancer and it's killing me that I can't help her. We don't have much and it's almost like I just have to stand and watch her leave..I sometimes refuse to pick her call because of the sadness in her voice, it leaves me in wrecks for days. Everyday I keep hoping for a miracle because she doesn't deserve that. She deserves a chance to fight it at least.

I hope your mom survives the cancer. Sorry about what you both are going through.

Do you think it's every lady that will be able to endure being bottom feeders for life? You think it's every one that will be able to endure the taunts and mistreatment and neglect you guys mete out to women who you consider unattractive? There should be no sermon for women, but for men. If men want their women to be alright, then they need to learn to treat every woman like a human being. Every woman should be eligible for trips round the world, spoiling, love and romance. Not just those with catching looks, a nice shape, and youth. Until then, ambitious women will do what they must to have their own taste of these things. Women are human beings who want what their counterparts are enjoying. You men can't be rounding up all goodies of life for a particular set of women and you say other ladies should not do what they can to partake.

This girl, return her. She will hate you, and most especially your kids, for life. Nobody's kid likes to serve anyone else's kids. If you want a close enemy for your kids, keep her around and let her be 'helping' your kids do stuff. I have witnessed and experienced the hatred first hand from my aunt, a few years older than me, who was with us growing up.

Even if you buy them the same clothes, shoes and all as your kids, they will still hate you all. It's better to leave them with their parents, and give them money every time you come. Iff you want to train them, give their parents the money.

You are just creating a bitter enemy for your kids. If you tell any young person that is not your family to even wash a few plates, they act and feel used. Look at them closely, they will start acting bitter immediately! Better to leave them alone. If they come to see you even, treat them like full visitors, no matter how young they are. In their hearts, these young family members don't want to help in anything. If they do one chore, to them, you've used them.

This girl would grow up and be wishing and working hard towards outshining your kids while hoping your kids don't become anything. Why? All because you had them taking care of your kids, or it could just be that you gave them chores like the rest.

No secondary family can feel secure with any good treatment. Pamper them when they come to visit. Don't let them do ANYTHING, if you love your kids lives. Send the money to want to use and train them home, don't ever separate them from their parents. If she must live with you, turn your eyes and don't give her any single bit of work. For your kids sake. I've put down my own piece.
