Its so amazing and infact shockingly amazing how some Christian leaders are seeking and attracting the validation of people(unchristianed) to be relevant in their works.Nigeria is noted for corruption,,the media and every sector of the country is messed up with injustices,corruption and everything negative,,,but in this vein, we see these corruptable elements naming streets after some pastors,,in some cases giving them titles such as MON,OON etc,,,just recently some re even fighting its their Bishop that deserved to be Nigerias living legend and not another churches GO,,,
  Its crazily fritghtening and terrifying how men of God are now being transformed to God of men!!,, In those days, as young christians, we criticise celestial church and Aladura because they pray in the names of their founding fathers,,,and these re just a few reason why there was a drift from white garment churches to the new generation pentecostalism( in most cases they re men's idea),,however, same thing is being done here,,we see people praying in the name of their Bishop and GO,,,and that is just the beginning of religion,,when people can't think outside their own box.
  In a society where the likes of Gani Fawehinmi, Chinua Achebe and Wole soyinka,,,,can be more trusted for their sncerety and commitment towards the upliftment of the citizens plights,,by constantly challenging the authorities and rejecting any form of gifts,Title or street naming in protest against the political and social injustices,,,I would rather wanna find my Nigerian Legend in the above than looking for a spiritual Icon,,
   More than the above,,John the Baptist exhibited the spirits and courage of the above names,,,and for that reason, he challenges the Government of his days,,,and was killed for that purpose,,,Martin Luther King did thesame thing for USA,,where and who are the Nigerian Christian Leaders to do a thing like this??
  Save for Tunde Bakare,,,Just one of a few Pastors I respect in Nigeria,,,The church has a strong responsibilty to shape the country,,but it has woefully failed in its bid,,and it continues to fail because the Pastors re all seeking men's glory and not God's.
My annoyance is however, the majority of people who have been so dehumanised,brainwashed,skewed and twisted to think that their salvation lies in their pastors,,even in a clear and vivid misdeeds,,they still bow and worship God of men,,,sorry men of God,,whichever way,,,its ok,,thats Nigeria for you,,,

A jilted lover, Olusola Afolabi, 29, has been sent to the Kirikiri Maximum Prison, Apapa, Lagos, for breaking the spinal chord of his estranged lover, 27-year-old Fadeke Olowokere. She will now be confined to a wheelchair, as she can neither stand nor walk.


Olusola allegedly beat, carried and threw her down, thus breaking her spinal chord in the process. Trouble started when the victim told Olusola that she was no longer interested in their relationship and so would not marry him because of his bad habits.

P.M.NEWS gathered that Fadeke accused Olusola of drunkenness and smoking, which she had tried in vain to ensure he abstained from.

When she failed to stop him from these habits, Fadeke decided to call it quits, but he threatened to deal with her if she dumped him.

“Either you stay with me in peace or you go away in pieces,” Olusola was alleged to have threatened her.

It was further learnt that the lady did not take his threat seriously until the day of the incident, when the accused allegedly went to her house at 16, Fatoki Street, Egan and assaulted her.

He carried and threw her on the floor and she broke her waist.

When the girl went to Igando General Hospital for an x-ray, the report showed that her spinal chord was affected and since then, she cannot stand or walk again.
The family of the girl reported the matter at the Igando police station and the accused was arrested and charged to the Magistrate’s Court, Ejigbo, yesterday, for assault and inflicting of permanent injury on the victim.

He pleaded not guilty to the charge and was granted bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties.

The court also ordered that one of the sureties must be a blood relation and the other must be a senior civil servant with the Lagos state government. The accused was remanded in Kirikiri Prison pending the fulfilment of his bail conditions. The matter was adjourned till 6 July, 2009.

Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Samuel Odulana Odugbade 11, has lamented that Nigerians are suffering in the midst of plenty. He said it’s saddening that Nigerians are suffering even though the country is endowed with both mineral and human resources.

Oba Odulana stated this when the board of directors of Oluyole Cheshire Home, Ibadan led by its Chairman, Professor O.O. Layiwola, paid him a courtesy visit to intimate him of the activities lined up for the home’s 50th anniversary

The monarch said: ” Nigeria is flowing with honey and milk still its citizens are suffering. Nobody wants to take care of the less privileged people. Our people are selfish and self-centred. This is sad and bad”.

Assuring the home of a visitation next Thursday, he promised that he would unveil the bust of the founder of the home, the late Group Captain Lord Leonard Cheshire.

Donating his widow’s mite to the home, Oba Odulana promised that he would encourage residents to identify with the home for support.

Speaking at the occasion, High Chief Eddy Adewole, decried the attitude of the affluent families toward their children who are physically challenged.

According to him, it is ungodly and inhuman to lock up physically challenged children in the room, thereby violating their fundamental human rights.

He urged the parents of physically challenged children to allow them go out and interact with their fellow human being. He stressed that if they are allowed to live in homes meant for them, there is a possibility that they will be successful in life.

“There is hope for the hopeless. All we just need to do is to create an enabling environment for them. Let them go out and discover themselves like children in Oluyole Cheshire Home who are today accountant, doctosr among other notable professionals,” he said.

Earlier briefing the monarch on the achievement of the home, Professor Layiwola stated that the home has produced professionals and three of them got married last year.

He sought the assistance of the residents of Ibadan to support the home.

General Overseer of the Believers Vineyard Church, New Oko-Oba, Agege, Pastor Akin Obadofin, has spoken strongly against the docility of fellow clergymen concerning social ills in the country.
“I can’t believe that my fellow pastors could be so indifferent about unpopular socio-economic happenings in Nigeria,” he submitted.

Pastor Obadofin who also ministers through music recalled with dismay pastors silence over the last fuel shortage and its attendant fare hike which caused untold transportation hardship for the masses.

“Everybody knows the respect men of God are supposed to be enjoying in every society. I expect them to have used that to benefit mankind. This docility of fellow pastors should stop, if they want to continue enjoying public confidence,” he maintained.

The General Overseer of a pentecostal church in Port Harcourt, River State narrowly escaped being lynched on Monday night after he and an aide were caught attempting to bury charms in the home of a businessman.

He had intended to deceive the man and the crowd at a crusade that the charm was buried in the businessman’s house by enemies.

Unfortunately, the evil plot of the general overseer whose church (name withheld) is located in the Diobu area of the capital city blew up in his face as his aide, also a pastor, was caught bringing out the calabash of charms from his clothes, while the ‘deliverance’ prayer was in progress.
Incidentally, it was the businessman who in defiance of an order that all eyes remain closed while the charm was being dug out, caught the pastor in the act.

The general overseer’s journey to disgrace began when he attended a three-day crusade of another church, Destiny Blenders Church at the Eagle Island area of the city as the guest preacher.
It was gathered that during his ministration, the general overseer announced to the crowded congregation that he had a vision that a charm was buried in the residence of the businessman to destroy his wealth and health with the sole intention of killing him slowly.

The senior clergyman who also preaches weekly on one of the local television stations, consequently arranged for his aassistant pastor to unearth the  buried charm while the main crusade was in progress.
On arrival in the home of the businessman, a deliverance prayer laced with speaking in tongues, commenced with all eyes closed while the assistant  pastor started digging a particular spot already identified as where the destructive charm was supposedly buried.

Unknown to all who were gathered at the ‘uprooting’ exercise, the businessman did not close his eyes and he saw the assistant pastor bringing out the satanic calabash from  his pocket and raised alarm.
The assistant pastor was alleged to have confessed that his General Overseer gave him the calabash to bury and pretend that it had been there long before the crusade.

He was later led back to the crusade venue where the general overseer apparently oblivious that his dubious plot has been exposed, was still preaching.
Both men were later beaten black and blue before they were handed over to some mobile policemen who led them away.

When contacted, Police spokesperson in the state, Mrs Rita Inoma-Abbey (DSP), told Daily Sun that she was yet to be briefed on the incident.

For marrying two men at the same time, men of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a 48-year-old housewife, Okeowo Ada.


Okeowo was arrested by the police in Shasha in Alimosho council area, when two men, Demola and Afolabi, who laid claim to being her husband, engaged each other in a street fight. P.M.NEWS gathered that Demola confronted Afolabi accusing him of having amorous affairs with his wife. Unknown to them, the woman was married to each of them at separate marriage registries, as discovered by the Investigating Police Officer (IPO), Sergeant Shittu, during interrogation of Okeowo Ada .

The police officer therefore arrested the woman and detained her at the station. She will likely face a charge of conduct capable of breaching the peace, as well as bigamy, an offence relating to a woman marrying more than one man at the same time. When our reporter visited the Shasha police station, Okeowo Ada was seen around but she declined to speak on the matter. The police also declined comments. However, a reliable source from the police station confirmed the incident. The source also told our reporter that the woman will be arraigned in the court very soon.
