I absolutely understand, but their is no way in hell you can get the biggest overtime in the world( and that is also impossible, because they are not the only one's at the job) working a minimum wage job and bring out $100 bills "cha cha cha". Unless they are working 18 of those jobs everyday. It is impossible.
P.S- A minimum wage job is $8 per hour, and some people that are illegals and are working under the table get paid less than that.

Tolani go and sit down.....just so you, upon my arrival to the States, i worked in a big store and that was like 8 years ago, and was the customer service rep...so i have had enough experience for me to draw out my conclusions on how they spend. they pay cash for whatever buy, and it is usually 100 dollar notes. if it is the 'cha-cha" you are worried about, no, they did not mint the notes.

Chic YOU DON'T know shit abt naija...stop yarning dust...for you to ask of good schs,24hr light nd water means u r bereft of the millions of alternatives here or outrightly dumb..I personally chose d latter...

I would have loved to engage the uk based nigerians...but they are no where to be found ..guess they all went to do menial olympic jobs..hv never been to d u.s so can't argue well..but all ma previous assertion stands.

Boy!!!! give me the list and figures to back it up....do you peresently have 24 hrs light presently?which area is that and is it 24hr generator? some of the people i know have the solar installed,(how much is that hmmmm>?) i know how much my father (personally) paid for a bore hole to be erected. So give me figures, break it down and let us know how one can conveniently spend to get good amenities and 'safety".

Please don't talk about something you don't know. Most of the kokoye's dont have good paying jobs. Because some of them are illegals they do under the table jobs. So where would kokoye's get $100 bills that they would be bringing out "cha-cha"?? unless they are getting those money through illegal activities. If you were talking about the asains now i might believe you.

Excuse me!!!!! what do you know yourself? all those menial jobs they do, how much do you think they are being paid? do you think they work regular 8 hrs/40 hrs a week like others do? do you know how many over-time jobs they do? do you know how many diiferent jobs they do in a day to survive and make enough money to travel back with?.

Residents earn about N200k in Federal Govt. owned hospitals. Consultants earn much more (about N500k or so). That isn't so bad. That said doctors in the USA earn a lot more.

I agree with you. HardWORK is REQUIRED!! And there is nothing more fulfilling than knowing everything you have is as a result of your hard work.

My dear...who can be more hardworking than the kokoyes'?, when others will go to the stores and pay using their crdit cards, you will see them bringing out cha-cha- 100 dollar bills and counting, and will continue counting, and pay in cash, everything they have bought.

kokoye: I decided against giving my opinions on posts like this because some people will not just understand - it depends on which side you are facing.

When I was in grad school and doing security work, a typical Nigerian would see me and thing I was wasting my life away because I had a 'fantastic' job back in Naija. But for me, it was a means to an end. With the money I made from being a security man in America, I was able to pay for my masters, had my own apartment, send money to my parents and sisters and travelled around the world regularly. Would a security man in Nigeria be able to do that? I think not but I stand corrected.

Now, years after I finished school here, I am enjoying the fruit of my labor and God has been good to me. Almost all of my friends are very successful in this country because they went to school here and have paid their dues as well.

If you think America is a bed of roses where you can come and land it big without working hard or struggling, you're kidding urself..or maybe you are into 419. But then, who knows.

The issue is most people meet us here when we are struggling and working hard and decide every Nigerian in America is in financial pain. Open your eyes and you will see Nigerians doing very well here. To join that team, you must be ready to work hard and then reap the fruits.

Come to Texas and you will see illegal immigrants working hard (manual) and buying houses and cars cash down. Yes I said it. If you are ready to work hard in this country, you will make it. No one cares what kind of work you do.

I dont know what's going on in Nigeria but I know life is not a bed of roses anywhere - you must work hard either in Nigeria or wherever. People are getting rich or broke in every nation. That's life.

GBAMMEST!!!!!!!! no food for the lazy man.

Did you say enough? Hmm, enough is overstatement, besides the tax bracket is high for most of those folks who earn such amounts. Some one who earns $100,000 here and someone who earns $100,000 in Nigeria, I strongly believe the person in Nigeria has enough money than person here.

this is where the exchange rate come into play. imagine if you want to secure safety (unless you hire a mopo...who will run when armed-robbers visit)or else you really cannot get one, maybe Lekki and VI and you know how , 24 hrs light, 24 hr water, lets assume you want to tar the road/ street that leads to your house, you want good school for your children, enjoy a nice car (mercedes), and also save to go on vacation with your family, then trust me that 100,000k in Naija, will not last more than 3 months at most.

Very true. But how much of the money you make can you really enjoy?

as much as possible, if you live within your means and do not incur unnecessary debts. you will have enough to enjoy after the necessary deductions (tax and medical insurance, i mean).

Lies!!!!!!! don't let anyone deceive you that it is not rosy in the diaspora. It is defintely not a place for a lazy-man, and i want to make money-quickly-kind-of a person. If you are an illegal immigrant, your woes have just started.

The truth is if you really want to make it big here, "go to school" and study a high- paying course in school, if you settle for dance and linguistic then you have a long road infront of you. create something that no one has ever created, it is a baby that own "face book". start up a business, you can get loans if you have good credit history.

I know small young boys and girls who are Nigerians, that studied, medicine and engineering, and those who also have their own businesses. omo!!! you do not want to know how much those kids are making.

@ Poster, after reading your post (infact, during the reading process) i was so angry, like really mad, that you married someone who is carefree and does not appreciate anything. pele!!! sorry!!!

Now, to the koko, you are an emotional person on a normal day, then add pregnancy ontop with all the hormones, it would sky-rocket, and it would seem as if the man is not doing enough. you want him to cringe and shiver at every, pain and mood, but he also has his moments, maybe at that particular time he was not also in the mood.

- i hate the fact that he does not ask you how you feel and even cooked for himself alone,( that food will come out of his nose, he will definitely not eat that food, if it were me ooo), infact i would have pulled myself out of bed if i hear the clanging of pots, plates and spoons.

- You know who you married, before you became pregnant, you know how he treated you, this pregnancy will come and go with you holding your baby and will probably forget all you went through. So please, you do not want to develop pre-clampsia because of unnecessary stress, buy enough noodles and easy to make foods in the house. look for someone to do groceries for you, because right now, you do not want anybody that will attack you with his frustrations, you have a whole "human being" in you and do not want to stress that poor baby.

- Do not be afraid of anything, your child-birth will be smooth, if i can do it, anyone can do it wink, i never thought i could have a child, because i fear easily, but omo!!! that bay came out with a bang!!! and that was it, Ronke's own flesh and blood. it is worth looking forward too. Start packing you bags and getting ready for the hospital, get alternative help(someone who will drive you to the hospital), incase your hubby is at work when you are in labour.

THEN AFTER THE BABY COMES AND YOU HAVE FULLY RECOVERED, THEN TREAT HIS "Bleep-UP".

Hey peeps....been exercising ooo, just not in the mood to log wink wink....but in the mood today so here we go wink

Friday.....3 hrs in the mall, walking to and fro...the mall,
Saturday - no exercise for me....the 3hrs walk was enough from the previous day.
sunday- 30 minutes yoga...needed some stretching....felt good.

Yesterday/monday - 40 minutes 10 pounds xtremme slimdown with Chris Freytag....that lady is something else. but after that, with a cold shower.....ooooo it felt good. hmmm!!!!cheesy cheesy

Have not really been big on eating for the past weeks, hubby traveled, so cooking was a chore, ate what was available, though i have now inculcated the habit of drinking water immediately i wake-up and after 6pm...water all through till i go to bed, that has helped.
