kentoski:
You donno warris going on sir, .... the whole electric car fuss is dying down, as it's not really as sustainable as was first imagined when you consider the overall energy and sustainability balance, fossil fuels are here to stay, Europe will need diesel for the foreseeable future.

with global warming on the increase, i think we should sustain our collective effort in going GREEN as much as possible.

A lot of people are mentally disturbed, such people are meant to be in a psychiatric ward under specialized supervision but with the breakdown of our nation health facility, such people are allowed to roam freely.

Point of no Return... Ambode said it ooh.

Kennitrust:
My confusion about this is profounded.

Question begging for an answer

BATTLE! BATTLE! BATTLE!

Was the purpose of man existence for battle?

Did we negotiate with anyone before we came to this world?

Is it by force for man to exist if our survival depends on an invincible wars?

Why are we subject to fight that we did not create?

Staying awake all night to pray, staying hungry for days to pray, what is meaning of the word that God told man from the beginning of time that read... I HAVE GIVEN YOU EVERY GOOD THINGS TO ENJOY...

nawao... This battle sometimes dey confused me o

My Father's nursery rhyme to me to date is that "son you have come to this world to battle". He was absolutely correct. If only I had heeded to is warning more seriously I would not have been mortally wounded. The great restorer Jesus is restoring every good thing

It is high time that drones are deployed for border security.
With the effective deployment of drones all this smuggling would become a thing of the past.

Some say the rural life is still the best form of life.
The Garden of Eden was not designed with Fibre Optic network.
So the internet is overrated, curiously the technology that we love is also the same technology that would gradually allow the fulfillment of the end time prophecy.
Simple life is still the best form of living, no snap chatting your suicide!
strolling to your farm in the morning, drinking palm wine under the moonlight, live long, live happy, live healthy!
Technology alienates, many are living fake lives due to the internet.
No more privacy in this days of the internet
They are watching you, Seun inclusive.

Abalado:
have u forgotten she's an athletes ni? Or have u seeing any athletetician bursty before, receive sense IJN...

So Serena Williams is not an athlete?

Congrats!
I hope sanwo-olu will introduce a revolutionary sport initiative for primary and secondary school students.
There are more talented coco, serena and venus, within Lagos, if only they can get government support.

wow Insane time, good madness.
congrats!

The China Miracle is something Nigeria can replicate within 50 years under visionary and selfless leaders.
GOD BLESS NIGERIA.

lordatkinson07:
Hmmmm! Intriguing.
Africa where are thou?
Sleeping in advancement?
Wallowing in poverty?
Happy in partying?
Busy celebrating corruption?
Not thinking to be good for anything?

God! Remove the foundational curses affecting this continent and her people.

God! Remove the foundational curses affecting this continent and her people in JESUS name. Amen

franchasng:
Great man, my mentors when I was a teenage boy, unfortunately, Nigeria killed that dream of going to space

Your dream is still possible, ask the elders for certain forest in the country where you can experience space travel!

niyogeol:
Relax man. Oil would remain valid for another 30 to 50 years. The future of energy is gas, which is more cleaner than oil. Even battery that is the crux of electric vehicle source some of the raw materials for it production from crude oil distillate.

Or you think solar, wind and hydro power is enough to generate the electricity for industrial, commercial and domestic use for the ever growing population of the world? Remember that a lot of countries in Africa, Asia and South America still don't have stable electricity! So there is room for energy mix. Research has shown that it takes about 50 years for a particular energy resource to gain prominent usage and acceptance.

So you know - countries like UK, Ireland, Canada, Norway and USA to mention a few are still searching for the black gold. Little wonder why a company like ExxonMobil has a budget about $30b this year. Petrochemical products from crude oil are essential in manufacturing process. So oil is not used in transportation alone, and as such it would remain an essential commodity in the years ahead. Or what do you think is fuelling the political tension in the Middle East? Water?

Please let us reflect on the below: With Technological advancement nothing is impossible, Oil will still be relevant in the future, but Oil glut is also an increasing possibility .

1956: IBM ships the first hard drive in the RAMAC 305 system. The drive holds 5MB of data at $10,000 a megabyte. The system is as big as two refrigerators and uses 50 24-inch platters. (For the full story and interviews with key players, read "The Hard Drive Turns 50."

Fast forward toward you have micro SD cards that can hold.....
SanDisk's 1TB Extreme microSD card is the biggest capacity that it's ever sold, and you can buy one... for $449.99. As for where you can buy it right now, it's available on SanDisk's store

Those living in the 60s or 70s would never believe that such technological feat could be achieved, A smart Nation will actively look at alternative means of generating income, Let us get out of this resource curse before it is too late, so that our situation will not make Venezuela's case look like a child's play. We need massive investment in technology driven initiatives, that is the only way to survive in the new global economy.

Iogobenz:
Is it in commercial quantity?that's the point.

IT MUST BE IN OVER-COMMERCIAL QUANTITY.. so that resource control for each state can be granted.

wristbangle:
The best way to stop seeing gory/disturbing pictures of this country's road network is to LEAVE.

I am tired of analysis the state of this country.

Who will fix Nigeria if we all leave?

festacman:
Kudos to President Buhari for this re-nomination although Akinwunmi Adesina himself is an 'underground smooth politician' who has a way of warming up to key stakeholders. Hope he gets re-elected because he is eminently qualified and super smart.

However, at the risk of being misunderstood and badly-tagged, I want to state that I am not sure, apart from national pride, what 'special things' Nigeria has gained from AFDB under Akinwumni Adesina. Similarly, I am still at sea about his accomplishments and policy legacies as Minister of Agriculture. I want to be educated on these if anybody knows.

The greatness of a man is measured to some extent by his ability to bow out when the ovation is loudest. Very few people in power can be like Mandela.

Good move, may I suggest a to do list

1. Transportation: share with us your action plan to ease traffic grid locks on our roads. Nothing has changed!
2. Education: Give us smart education as part of the smart Lagos initiative.
3. Health care... qualitative health care at affordable cost.
Who is your most innovative commissioner(s) how has he/she being able to think outside the box.
We wish you the very best.

If grandollar could survive with the irrefutable video evidence showing him collecting bribe.. this lecturer might still escape judgement by Nigeria standard.

Commentor:
Regular Tea drinker I am.

No milk, no sugar.

Although I do once in awhile take my tea without sugar or milk, but a dash of original honey makes drinking tea most pleasurable

which way Nigeria...

EdiskyHarry:
let Niger delta control their resources, then I will take ur word serious

What is special about niger delta controlling their resources aka oyel, i know that Japan has no crude oil and they are doing fantastically well.
Human capital development should be the focus of all state governors.

revenge001:
if na ordinary man land now, they won't hesitate to take over it without compensation... Flourmill will sue their silly ass if them try nonsense

flourmill will make a killing either way, everybody involved must chop the national cake.

isthatso:
To talk about the problems of Nigeria and what should be is not new, by now everybody knows, what we lack is action. For Osinbajo to start pontificating again about what should be is quite honestly weak and patronizing. He is not in opposition, we dont need a sermon, what he is saying is now new. He is power, if he isnt doing something about it then he should either shut up or resign if he feels his efforts to reform are being frustrated.

Spare us the patronizing lectures, Nigerians are suffering enough without a lecture on what should be from people with the power to make the change.

This thing is not rocket science but nobody is interested in pointless intellectual journeys, we want action!!

Osinbajo is saying if he was to be the president this is what he will do.

Friendship built on chop i chop!

pmc01:
That's why he challenged the populace to pressure the ruling elite to do right.

Where is Sowore now!

ipriest:
how is it possible for Google to know my house number

If uber knows your house number, surely the "baba of them all" Google knows.

Mayflowa:
State response is faster and more effective. Going forward, Nigeria should start thinking of having State police and Local government police. I do not understand why we would continue to hold on to strategy that has failed. No development without security. Approve State Police!

The Vice President Osinbajo is also an adherent supporter for the creation of State Police, sadly the President is not interested.
Information gathering at the grass root is fundamental to building a safe and secure environment, the foundation needs to be solid.

wink2015:
Until we implement the recommendation of the 2014 national conference report.

Which among other call for the creation of state police scenes like this kidnapping and other forms of insecurity will continue to dot our national landscape.

The northern political leadership that are not showing the interest to get Nigeria restructured unfortunately is now the theatre of so many sectarial violence including the dreaded boko haram insurgents.

Having State police is only logical given the failure of the present security architecture.
Even Osinbajo is a supporter for the creation of state police.
The Governors of each state are only Chief Security Officers in theory.
The federal government needs to be proactive concerning the security situation of the country.

What is the way out folks..
I would have expected Sanwo-olu to give a timeline for the completion of the light rail project.
I don't want to be hasty to come to any conclusion, let see what happens in the next 3 months.
