I am surprised by the comments of most people on this thread.. justifying his arrest. Treasonable felony carries a death penalty in Nigeria, if found guilty; and some are there complaining about Cyberstalking. But no one seem to care. I am sorry Sowore, you fought for the wrong people. |
MountainView:Hmmm |
Me: Atiku, Atiku, Atiku! E me lo nimo pe e? Atiku: E meta le pemi Sir. Me: Don’t waste your money at the Supreme Court. Learn to fight another day! |
ProudBoy:Lol these guys ain’t the Judiciary... Court Martial is a different ball game. |
Buliwyf:. https://www.abnews247.com/2019/09/nba-unravels-plans-to-tackle-fake-news-among-social-media-influencers-bloggers/ |
Buliwyf:Fool! |
Buliwyf:I am happy to have spent sometime schooling you. Yu are welcome ![]() |
Buliwyf:You have just committed a Strawman fallacy. of course, the blogger is not capable of that detailed false analysis, it had to be done by Punch. But it doesn’t matter who it came from. It lacks credibility! - and that was the onus my argument. If you were educated, you would understand that the sentence “ This article lacks logic and the source is highly questionable“ are two different sentences with separate meaning. I will indulge you with the meaning... 1. The content of the article does not follow from its proposition. 2. The source does not correlate with the content. Unlike you, I do not take any information I see online hook and sinker, and I don’t draw inferences that are unsupported by facts. If you have a university education - you should also know that the best way to influence stupid people is by spewing trash on stupid webpages. Dimwit! |
I hate fake news. And I hope NairaLand is not soon becoming a place where all manner of fake agendas and news items are promoted. This article lacks logic and the source is highly questionable. At one point it mentioned The Punch, but the link bears one Dailynaijamode whatever. Whatever the discord in the presidency... The president Buhari does not seem like one that answers to any cabal - certainly not Tinubu himself. That is not to mean he doesn’t respect party politics! |
ritamart:Oh. Sorry to hear Rita. You may leave your direct email, or twitter handle/Fb messenger. |
Foxman19: ThinkWISELY:There are two Cyprus Scholarships in the Federal Government Scholarship board that you can take advantage of. Link below. http://education.gov.ng/fsb/ All the best. |
This is becoming too much. Serial killing or not, Murder is a crime against the State and The police has a religious duty to investigate and bring the perpetrators to justice. In cases like this - the Coroner should be summoned. It’s disheartening that murder cases go unsolved or even uninvestigated in Nigeria. The whole Police academy should be revamped. Every police recruit must know all the provisions of the Police Act, Criminal Code and all ancillary Criminal legislations by heart before graduating fr the Police Academy. Investigative course should be continuous - like every year all police officers must attend to learn new investigative techniques. Introduction of tech into the Police Statuons, at least starting with the Divisional HQs. The minimum entry requirement should be an OND... I really wonder what the IGPs do as head of this Force... these recommendations are sacrosanct for any modern police force ![]() |
Noah13:Lol. She must be... no matter how polished ... that Naijaness go still show face small ![]() |
DonCandido:I was hugely disappointed myself, reading it. To think that a Law Firm wrote these error ridden letter and sent this on behalf of a client. Such a public shame. They must be jankara lawyers. |
KendrickAyomide:His monicker says it all |
brodalikeme:You obviously do not have a Nigerian passport; its translated to French too. Btw - Visas are usually stamped on your passport. Your passport bears your passport-photo, so visas itself is just a stamp on a blank page of your passport booklet. Hope that helps... |
qualityovenbake:There is no DATABASE to compare with. The National Identity whatever has been going on for years now - and still not completed. That could have helped with Fingerprints identification if it’s synced with all security agencies |
Xisnin:Have you been following the news? You should google search Johnson & Johnson’s recent case. |
Simplyleo:Lol... yes, some people with more educated opinion on the matter will not think it impossible. Interpretation of Laws to accomodate these sort of outcome are plenty - see e.g. R v SoS for Heakth Ex parte Quintavalle in the UK. You will mostly see this in European courts and US courts. Companies are held responsible for loads of things - no matter how remote- and you will see this as well in the recent popular Johnson & Johnson case in the US. Truth be told - I have never been a fan of the Purposive interpretation rule myself. |
Emkojo:I can understand your pessimism- but Nigerian lawyers are equally good. Whether the court is ready to accept that sort of stretching of the law is another thing entirely. I think this is more about the Judiciary here. |
maximunimpact:It depends - how much are they being paid, and what are the working conditions. Employers as well need to provide an enabling environment for the employees to thrive. |
yomi007k:I am not against stating the challenges... I only have a problem with no one addressing each. |
What’s the essence of this thread if someone with some experience and knowledge is not trying to offer advice on how to address these challenges? ... |
Development got to Nigeria late. Where are the trains? Or you mean the old locomotive trains that people stand and sit on from Iyana ipaja to Sango? We are still using the same rail network put together by the British during the colonial era. The Nigerian government is just trying to put in place what should have been done 60 years ago. Instead, the whole wealth was squandered on Elephant project and “reprojects” by sham companies like P&ID. You will almost weep for Nigeria, if you think about the past and the future. |
AgonyOfHell:They are not useless, simply because they are in Africa. It’s time Africans put some values on themselves and start thinking of the way forward. Europe was once like Africa - when Egypt was the world power. Times changes - it’s just an evolution of development; and I believe the next 100 years will be different if you lots develop positive thinking and positive Acts. Singapore is a perfect example. |
grafikii:If that’s the case, then they need armoured trucks, not this steel plated fancy toys called pickups. The face of crimes have changed. Police trucks should have some intelligence gadgets, in addition to conveying them. These cars are largely normal cars just painted with NPF names and logo. |
This is an excerpt from this beautiful piece of investigative journalism... I wish the government can read this - and take necessary steps to corroborate the assertions to the advantage of any future challenge to the Judgment in question. Yo can almost weep for Nigeria after reading this. Best investigative journalism I ever read!!!

Aurielfinizu:Did you understand anything from the Post? don’t lie ![]() |
WildChild00:Truth be told - If you are not a politician or a high-earning corporate guy/business man, you cannot afford these luxuries. What legitimate business can be this rewarding? |
Od1n:CCTVs are requirements for Hotels generally. It doesn’t have to be in the rooms - but you must have it in all exits and entrance- especially checking in. https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.vanguardngr.com/2017/10/police-mandate-hotels-night-clubs-install-cctv-cameras-gadgets/amp/ |
plaindealer:Bro I am no IPOB... Buh it doesn’t even matter what I am, Cos we are all Nigerians. It’s obvious you have been paid to propagate lies here. The number of things Ambode achieved in 4 years - let’s hope your SANWO OLU matches that, with his god-father on his throat. He should take a cue from Seyi Makinde - on what Governance truly is. Not berating past administrations. |
