The majority of the homophobic people in Africa always has the expression "they are forcing it down our throats" on thier lips. This expression has come to become a mantra amongst homophobes. So when a gay person suddenly picks on something the homophobes do just to use that expression, you need not to be told he's only trying to give them a dose of thier own medicine. Funny thing is that you just used the expression yourself "force it on people" and that's the point; just like the Bible in the hotel doesn't force anything on anyone, I don't see how a gay person's life is forced on you. Don't be blinded by emotions, listen to your own words and get the message.

As for your first question, no one goes around labeling it "sarcasm" while being sarcastic. And you're certainly not expected to be in someone's mind to know someone is being sarcastic. You're expecting to deduce that using common sense. So asking if I was in his mind to have known he was being sarcastic doesn't really reflect well on you. I mean, is it that you've never deduced sarcasm before? Anyway, nothing serious. I just hope you see how less emotionally charged my response is. If you must quote me again, please try to do the same. I don't do well with fallacious arguments.

I don't really agree with this. One of the reasons Africa is way behind is the inability of the people to evolve. The fear of change and the desire to hold on to some practices that favour a few on the grounds of "it has always been like that" only makes us stagnant. Even a closed culture like the Chinese still knows when to adjust. A non progressive society is like facal matter in the body, it becomes toxic over time. Besides, what we have today is just selective preservation of culture. We only keep those that please the custodians.

Sorry, OP. Seeing any of my pets like this would definitely break me. Have you taken him to the hospital for diagnosis/tests? Any prescriptions yet? Also ensure whatever it is is not transmissible. You should take extra care of him after this knowing how prone he is to diseases. Please, don't kill it like people are suggesting (it's funny how some people would be in their houses and be advising you to kill a companion without caring to know what he means to you). However, if you ever decide to call that route, take him to a vet for mercy killing (euthanasia).

I believe white wedding is a religious norm. It's neither wrong nor compulsory. It can be seen as a prayer session held during a marriage ceremony. While the presiding person mustn't necessarily be a priest/pastor, there's no better person to lead this prayer than the church leader. The couple has parents but the four parents cannot all be presiding at the same time. Besides, for religious people, church leaders are ordained by God, so they fit into the God's role in the Garden of Eden better than the parents. Signing of the legal papers in the presence of the witnesses is the major activity of the day. Other things like the the white gown, the rings, etc. are not compulsory. But the again, every society has its cultures and if your religious society says this is what the process is to be identified as couple, I don't see anything wrong with it. It doesn't hurt anyone to follow rules provided they don't hurt anyone. Everything mustn't be explicitly written in the bible. Even the idea of having visa before you can enter some countries is unbiblical.

If they ask whether you've been denied visa before, simply answer honestly. I see no reason to be dishonest.

People should learn how to express their opinions as just that, opinions. Use words/expressions like "I believe", "I think", "probably", "it's possible that", "in my opinion", etc when sharing such. Not only will this make it easier for you to adjust as you learn more, it will also help your audience make a better judgment. Let's stop stamping what we think as facts. Funny thing is that many people onhere build thier arguments around personal convictions that aren't necessarily factual. They'd be like "so the Democrats planted Joe Biden so that they'd kill him afterwards and make the VP the president. You'd be a fool to vote for such an evil party". These guys have no data whatsoever to back this up but they'd say it with authority and build their entire logic around it, and then attack you for asking for evidence.

OP, I don't disbelieve you. What you said is very possible and even likely. But to avoid misinformation, I suggest you share this as your personal conviction because that's exactly what it is seeing that you don't really have any proof. The way you wrote this, one would think you actually worked with these guys. Meanwhile, it's just what you think might be the case. Honestly, I wouldn't blame the mods of they delete it.

No, I don't think it was a harmless compliment and he/she could be punished for that. People feel uncomfortable when naked in front of strangers. Complimenting thier private parts doesn't make it any better. Besides, a professional nurse is never meant to make such remarks about a patient's nudity.

It was clearly a suggestion. Words like "should", "let's", etc. made that obvious, and I gave reasons for my suggestion which you're free to counter. If you had read the post to the end, you'd have seen where I gave an example of what a statement of fact looks like.

Yes, my fiancée's dad is late for over a decade, but I don't know if her mum cut her hair immediately after the father's death. But presently, her mum is on low cut (maybe, because, she loves low cut).

I sincerely don't think that singular dream is enough reason to call off your wedding plans. The dream could have been triggered by many things especially when the lady was actively looking girl a revelation. Her mind was obviously hyperactive. Just my opinion though. Best of luck!
