PeaceOfMind2:My pleasure.. I remember some time ago when I had an ulcer attack, it was so bad that I couldn't eat Eba or even drink garri, I had to make do with cornmeal which we call "Agidi" or "Eko".. That flatulence & diarrhea had me taking just pap all day yh and watery noodles.. Couldn't sit still/upright, it was so crazy, I thought I was already pooping my intestines, my mum was horrified.. After that incident, I was determined to find a lasting solution and then I was prescribed same drugs as you were but on second thought I ditched those drugs(well, partly cos I hate swallowing pills) sooo here's what I did(& still doing): • I drank lots and lots of water, still do.. First thing when I wake up, before eating esp when I should have eaten something much earlier but for unforseen circumstances did not.. Also when I feel dehydrated & then last thing before I go to bed.. Sometimes when I wake up to pee, I go for 1-2 glasses of water • I eat fruits & vegetables.. Fruits like banana, watermelon, cucumber have a kind of cooling effect on the stomach esp when you're still undecided on when & what food to eat at any time of the day.. Avoid fruits containing citric acid but if you must have oranges, pineapples, etc then make sure they are very ripe & sweet, no be dah wan wey dey slap slap pesin o • I made sure to avoid fried foods, I still had my fried plantain though but not the oily & soggy kind • I couldn't eat groundnuts, beans & other foods made from beans like akara, moi-moi, it was upsetting to my tummy and then the heartburn, flatulence & diarrhea.. But sometimes whenever I borrow liver to eat them with my coconut head, Gascol alwayss got my back lol • If you love hot spicy meals like I do, you need to match brake on that one o, match am small • You can have many small meals in a day.. Please do not load your plate with large amount of food in one sitting.. Instead of having 3 big meals, you can eat as much as 10 small meals & snacks at 1-2hrs interval each, moderation is the key • Alcohol, match brake wella.. Self-medication, use the hand brake, you need to be extra careful about what goes through your mouth & into your body.. Migraines, on no account should you take aspirin.. If you start having diarrhea coupled with other ulcer symptoms, keep drinking lots of water, eat those fruits that are alkaline in nature with high water content, please & please do not take Flagyl. I have been doing these and I can now comfortably eat beans, akara, etc as they do not cause me so much discomfort as they did before.. I hope this helps, take care.. Sorry for the delayed response. |
chiomaxwell27:I'm really sorry.. I sincerely hope you have a family relative helping you out with the baby.. In my own case, I can't quite remember but my mum was great help til I was able to ease off some with Aldomet. |
Hmmmm, honestly it's really not just about pills.. There's a whole lot you need to know about ulcer, I expected them to help you understand what it is and not just prescribe these drugs I do hope you know what triggers those symptoms, you really should avoid anything that triggers it.. Most importantly, make water your best friend, you need gazillions of it to neutralize the HCL acid that builds up which in turns causes you that heartburn & discomfort.. I can't say much about using native herbs as I didn't like it one bit when I initially tried some.. For the most part, basic knowledge of acidity & alkalinity in chemistry helped me figure it out on my own but that was after reading a lil more about ulcer. |

When I read your first post(which is this one), I'm sorry but I couldn't help the laughter.. I can't explain why but it somewhat tickled me lol.. Not the hearty cheerful laughter though After reading your second post, I most definitely understand you better.. If you hadn't come back with that second post, I probably won't be here doing this.. Going with this very first post, I see the "introduction" you meant was just like officially letting your parents know that he is the man in your life.. The title made it seem like it was the one he comes with a few members of his family to say he wants to seek your hand in marriage.. Yhh I totally get you when you talked about those ethics that should guide us in whatever actions & decisions we take or make; that is essentially what makes us who we are, irrespective of religion or denomination or whatever.. I acknowledge your apology as this doesn't really have much to do with his denomination, it is an individual thing.. Salvation is a personal race, the clergy only teach you about the ways of God, how to have a good communication with Him and how to grow spiritually.. It is left for us to understand & imbibe the teachings in our everyday living.. I'll resist the urge to digress further Of a truth, nobody likes to be cheated on, nobody.. Shit happens and people just try to whitewash it for reasons best known to them.. I can tell you are very ambitious and it is a good thing trust me, you don't have to dim your light, why can't we have it all in marriage? I do not know why he is averse to you reaching for the stars, he probably has his reasons yh I do not know what it is, most definitely do not want to know cos I know those sorry excuses are not good enough.. Take NOI for example, did you see how her husband not only understood her, he stood by her through & through, they both made it work.. A movement all by herself but then a powerful force with her husband.. She's just one of many women who have become really successful careerwise & otherwise.. My parting shot is this- I know it's been 3yrs of getting to know each other, not 3wks and definitely not 3days, it won't be easy.. Also, there's that pressure yunno cos your younger sister is married, started a family & all that but tbvh if you really really really cannot deal with these(like it's a deal breaker for you & you just cannot can) then I see no reason why you would want to go the long way with him.. Sometimes our parents don't really understand, they may not esp if they love the fact that he's a Catholic, ofcourse many many people will not understand.. You see, marriage is indeed a lifetime affair and forever is too long to stay unhappy.. Everybody deserves to be happy. |
Change of environment & stress did a number on me, having to wait for lady red seemed pretty normal cos my cycle is like that sometimes.. Even the spike in my blood pressure wasn't worrisome to me cos I knew I was hypertensive a long time but I'd never wanted anything to do with those routine drugs so I stayed living in denial lol.. First & Second semester • Loss of appetite • Fatigue • Increased sense of smell, even inhalation of air was a problem, my Rob/Vaseline was always with me everywhere I went. • Frequent urination • I thought the skin irritations & discoloration came with the stress, gosh so much stress at work & the environment wasn't even friendly.. Ahh my nose was big eh, my whole face sef. • Constipation • Hair loss Quarter to delivery • Olympics was going on inside awa belle ![]() • Voracious appetite ![]() • Insomnia • Heartburn • Throbbing headaches • Dah kain heat wey na to dey lie down for ground sure pass; AC/fan be like wen pesin carry hand fan dey blow me breeze kaiii. What I enjoyed • The attention, love & care • The backrubs • When I woke up to new wears & accessories • Going through baby list and ticking the boxes • Laying in bed, tossing around lol yh |

Dear God, Bless all the fathers in the world who have accepted the responsibilities of being a parent.. Guide them to be outstanding role models to their children, with patience, unconditional love and understanding.. Crown all their dedicated efforts with success.. Grant them wisdom, peace, grace, strength, favour, immeasurable happiness, sufficient wealth, excellent health of mind & body.. Guard them, protect them, furnish them with your most treasured possessions.. All these I pray Oh Lord, Amen. Odogwu nna'm, I miss you, we all miss you.. Your demise was the biggest teardown of my entire life.. It hurts sooo much, the vacuum you left in my heart seems to get bigger and bigger, everyday.. Nna'm onye udo, onye nwere obi nwanne, onye nwere obi umeani.. Keep watching over us, beloved.. I pray for the repose of your soul & the souls of all the departed brethren. Happy Father's Day to all responsible fathers(men'dem, the real mvps), soon-to-be fathers and prospective fathers as well.. Blessings upon blessings! |

She has strong feelings for the other guy, she never got over him.. I do not think she will leave him for you esp now he is bombarding her with calls & apologies.. He might've broken up with her but she never gave up on him, a part of her still wanted him, a part of her was waiting for him to "come back to his senses".. Even if he didn't apologize, she was ever ready to take him back.. Sorry but I do not think you stand a chance, I may be wrong though. |
Hmmmm do you have an idea of what your blood pressure is at the moment? When last did you check? I totally agree with Moganaviani about misuse/abuse of drugs.. Now, about the ulcer, I have been managing mine for about 10yrs and I'm doing fine as I can comfortably eat cooked beans as well as other foods made with beans, unlike before.. I can remember 3yrs ago, when I was prescribed some drugs for my ulcer, I did buy those drugs but on second thought I ditched them(partly cos I hate the act of popping pills & having to swallow 'em lol).. I took to drinking water like my life depended on it(in a way, it actually did lol cos ulcer pain is craaazy), I still do that first thing when I wake up & last thing before I go to bed, sometimes when I wake up to pee, I go for a swig too.. I eat fruits & vegetables a whole lot, bananas, watermelon & cucumbers have a cooling effect on your stomach, stay away from fruits containing citric acid, if you must have oranges, pineapples & the sorts, they should be very ripe & sweet.. I love love hot spicy meals like I do not joke with my fresh peppers & then the black cameroon pepper but I had to make a lil sacrifice for the ulcer lol.. I love beans but couldn't have it as eating it or akara or moi moi caused me so much discomfort talk about the flatulence & then diarrhea, taking so many trips to the loo just to let out watery & foamy stools.. I couldn't even eat Eba, my only alternative was Agidi.. I have alot to say but I'll stop here, tbh I do not wish even for my enemy to have ulcer.. Back to the matter, please go and get your blood pressure checked first.. I too have anxiety issues, I'm equally hypertensive so mad headaches/ migraines and I know it's pretty hard for me to keep up with the routine drugs so I try to calm myself most times, sit and let myself get lost just staring at nature even if it's just for a few minutes, then go in for a shower and lay in bed overthinking again yh(I can't really help it) til I fall asleep.. As my mum always say "take things easy, my dear".. Wahala no dey finish true true but do try to take things easy.. I'll also suggest you try another hospital.. May God fulfill our heart desires according to His will, Amen. |
Just looking at the pictures, e come be like dey na me.. Really 6yrs of pain Sorry about that.. May your healing be total & complete. |
It's hard to save with the everyday increase in the prices of goods & services.. You're doing great, Ikechukwu.. May God bless the work of your hands and multiply your daily profits also. |
Happy birthday to you Princess.. Many more fruitful years I pray, Oh Lord. |
real1000:It will end in praise, Amen. |
MrTalker:Wow congratulations to you & in advance to your sister in-law |
