We should take note of this before LASG starts recirculating it as part of their work done. I don't trust those guys |
sirmobol:That is the international airport |
delishpot:He is yet to anticipate what he wants. He claims to be a political scientist but a poor historian. Those who staged the civil war are thoroughly regretting it even in their graves. It was made out of selfish idealization and not for the Ibo people. |
I think the President has gotten this one wrong. He has added one thing Kanu is looking for - fame. Now, the Biafran cause which has been ignored by many and utilized by selfish persons for popularity will not begin to make wave. |
The promoters of Biafra have no well articulate strategy or plan. I also think they intend to promote their personnel ambition. Segregation is not just talking on the radio. Can Kanu mobilize a million Biafrans to walk the streets. What is truly the actualization of Biafrans. Are the Ibos being denied their legitimate rights as Nigerians? Are they no governor by Ibo people, who are also corrupt. I hope Kanu must have thought about his plans before launching his move. Even Uwazuruike utilized MASSOB for political relevance and consultation |
adonbilivit:Who told you that dogs have no soul? Ignorant human |
Getting tired of this kind of journalism. Every month, you find a newspaper talking about brothels. Do newspapers send their journalist to go sleep with prostitutes and talk about it? |
They more I see and read about this, the more I get skeptical that the man is dead. It appears like a propaganda is being made to make the public believe that he is dead. Let the dead be |
Before we get excited, this is just the interrogation phase to find out if he is culpable of the charges levied against him. He cannot be arrested without a judge reading out the sentence. So there is the possibility of him be acquitted |
Who is the husband and who is the wife. I actually mean, who is the pastor and who is the pastor's assistant/wife. The man appears to be assisting the wife |
gassdon:Yes we are eager to have him back so he can continue his jail time in Nigeria. |
This is a good move, though a bad news. For the the first time in many years, we can see the true financial position and performance of NNPC. Now Nigerians now know that subsidy is killing us. In this era of falling oil prices and increased number of countries producing and selling oil, we should not still be buying fuel at N75 per liter and continue to pay subsidy. I understand Oil companies in Nigeria now make Shipping companies provide letter of comfort indemnifying the oil companies that the oil is not stolen. This has reduced the number of ships coming into our water ways. This is a great move from both the NNPC CEO and the President. In the future, I see NNPC returning to profitability. I am surprised that I am not reading many comments on this thread, it shows how much we take important issues for granted and chase shadows. |
cramjones:Truly a merciful and loving God, but DSP shall be held accountable for his actions and inactions |
eyeview:Nigga Bleep you. The only reason that man is Vice president is because APC leaders strongly opposed a Muslim-Muslim candidate (Buhari/Tinubu) |
This was a man who disguise himself as a woman to evade arrest. Thus a lot of people would be skeptical about his death. Anyways, the good news is that we are less one corrupt public officer who might want to run for office again. |
I think this was analyze on a sport radio show. Vincent was given permission by the NFF to bury his mom and I think the NFF did not inform Oliseh. On the other hand, Vincent should have informed the coach, Oliseh, and likewise, inform the top ranking NFF official. From a management point of view, Oliseh is only trying to show who is boss and claiming his territory. It is usually annoying for subordinates to pass you over and obtain approval from superior officers, an annoying act indeed. From my own point of view, I think Oliseh was aware that Vincent was burying his mom. It was a national news so almost everyone was aware of that, however, I think Oliseh was angry because first, Vincent did not seek permission from him to arrive late in camp. Second, Vincent took permission from a higher NFF officer. Back to the incident, Oliseh questioned Vincent why he is arriving late to camp. Vincent tried to explain and there was a shouting match because Vincent informed Oliseh that he is an adult and would not be treated as a kid. Oliseh was shouting, which to me was not necessary, because Vincent passed over his head. The NFF official tried to intervene and Oliseh ordered that he would resigned if Vincent does not leave the camp office as he had earlier ordered. Oliseh went further to strip Vincent off his captainship. At this moment, Vincent felt humiliated and embarrassed and decided to quit the team. In conclusion, both were wrong and this interpersonal clash caused us a defeat. However, a boss must show he is the boss or losses control of his subordinates. On the other hand, Vincent acted maturely to quit the team and to avoid further issues. I don't know if they would resolve their differences, but I would rather advise Vincent to stay off the team for now. Oliseh too must control his temper/emotions. He is known to have a bad temper. Oliseh must realized that he now manages people and people are very difficult and different, nobody is the same and he must appreciate the diversity of people and treat them nicely. |
ORACLE1975:I love your picture it explains what our leaders are doing to us |
dominique:I thought he doesn't pay at all. Madam it's called business, you don't like it then demand more if you can't get that then stop complaining or look for other alternative means of putting your movies out there in the public. Be innovative and stop complaining |
Okay, let's rule out sentiments. I think I agree with the Senators on these considerations, in short, I agree with them on all considerations. A minister-nominee should not have any petition on corrupt practices against him, likewise, I would advise that the security agencies provide their report on the screening exercise carried out on them. In our country, we must exterminate political influences being observed in institutions. Also, I have observed that we focus too much on the President and allow our Local Government council, commissioners and Governors to thrive on corruption. I agree that policies implemented by the Presidency affect Nigerians directly or indirectly, however, the State Governors, Commissioners and Local Government Chairmen make policies that affects us directly and should be held accountable. |
mentorandfriend:Happy to note that you convinced yourself and you are now a doctor. Very good indeed. Continue to explore yourself. You can only be a better you when you critique yourself just like you did. |
Dear OP, I appreciate your writing. Honestly, it is inspiring, better than the insults and distasteful comments we read regularly on this forum. However, I am afraid to inform you that your thread has a misleading subject. Life purpose is different from Career purpose. Life purpose is about serving humanity and not from a selfish point of view. A selfless service to humanity. I presumed from your writing that you are yet to graduate from medical school and I am also glad to inform you that what you went through is very common with young adults. If you had chosen to become an importer of drugs, you probably will succeed, if you had chosen to be a pastor like Oyedepo, you probably will succeed with that too, though I don't like this field because of their perpetual greed, and I also wish you succeed to be a doctor, if you are not one already. All it takes it self conviction, sheer determination and persistence. Any field on earth we pick for ourselves already has God's approval as long as it hurts nobody. I will encourage young people who are having trouble picking a career to read this, but please don't confuse this for life purpose. That is a totally distinctive issue. |
gists:Well said but would not be properly understood because many people on nairaland are teenagers and undergraduates struggling with choice of career or field of interest just like the OP |
Malakh:Are you being sarcastic or honest with your view, because what you just wrote is actually true and that is truly one's purpose and not about choosing a field of interest. |
That guy looks familar. He looks like a nollywood actor |
seunmsg:What is good about the EFCC move? Is has to take the UK’s National Crime Agency (NCA) for the EFCC to live up to its expectation. We have been duly informed that the NCA has been investigating Diezani since 2013 (1.5 years) as a result of an outright purchase of a 12.5 million pound house, which was initially procured via Mortgage, but later paid with cash. The NCA also made it clear that their investigation, since 2013, had nothing to do with EFCC's investigation on Diezani. Why I decided to stress on this is to show why cases are actually thrown out of court by Judges due to lack of evidence. Certainly, we have corrupt Judges, however, when a case lack proper evidence, the judge is forced to throw the case away. On hearing that the NCA had arrested Diezani, the EFCC quickly rushed to her house in Abuja. First, I believe they had no court warrant to conduct a search. Second, what were they looking for whilst the prime suspect is cooling off in the UK. What I observed was that the EFCC wanted to claim accolades and praises to itself and intend to deceive the public that it is working when actually it was not doing anything. How can the EFCC succeed in prosecuting a case which it has just only started investigating within months? I can also presume that evidence gathered would be lacking in substance and hence thrown out by any presiding Judge. The EFCC should stop deceiving the public and I think the public should check their rate of successful conviction, which is poor. I must point out clearly that the EFCC and its lawyers lack the knowledge to fight corruption and I say this with verifiable fact. There is a serial fraudster who lives in Lekki and this man, even after several court cases, is still walking free and scamming people. Now, people would say that the concerned Judges are corrupt, however, I would say EFCC and its lawyers are incompetent. |
A good one for the premier league. I expect to see influx of German players into the premier league in due time. This is another media pressure and I wonder if the Liverpool board clearly thought about their decision before moving in for him. The signing was hastily made and I only hope they made the right decision. On the other hand, I'm glad Chelsea stuck to mourinho. He has been the best manager for the club. It is a bad spell and should be clearly addressed by the manager and for Van Gaal, I wonder when his experimental procedures would come to an end. I'm gutted by the disappointing trashing Asernal gave Manchester United. In conclusion, the title is Man City to lose. |
I hold no sentiment against Fashola, but I must remain objective to the best of my ability. As a tax paying resident of Lagos, Fashola succeed in pocketing the media, who should have served as the conscience of the people. Fashola's administration was filled with propagandas, myopic, invisible and incomplete projects. For Nigerians who do not reside in Lagos, reading these propagandas on newspaper would presume Lagos is the new London. Fashola planned a lot of things and many of them only appears in dreams. What hurts the most is the support he gets especially from the media. I know there is weak opposition in Lagos, shown vividly by their consistent loss of elections and regular fight for monies sent from Abuja. However, the media would have been honest enough to let the public know the true stances of Lagos. As an admirer of Buhari and his unflinching promise to curb corruption, I am shocked he is nominating both Fashola and Amaechi as ministers. Honestly, I wonder how the two of them scaled through the rigorous DSS security screening the media and the president's aides had made us, the public, to believe. I am yet to form an opnion because the ministerial list is yet to be made public, but I am shocked on the basis of the speculation going around on those two men. I support CACOL's petitions. They have been submitting petitions on Fashola for long and nothing was done on them. We cannot continue with politicians who are out to foster their political career and massage their ego. Nigerians need change and truly deserve change, hence we need technocrats who have never held public office in the past. |
Beremx:This is not smartest, it was pure undiluted greed and stupidity. A smart person never gets caught. |
I know CACOL has been raising issues of corruption on Fashola throughout his administration. Another petition that I can remember is that of the former minister of state of defense, Musiliu Obanikoro, another masterstroke fraudster, was on the Ikoyi bridge and Lekki-Epe concession. I am astonished that Lagosians, either deliberately kept quiet or claim ignorance over these two pertinent issues. I remember clearly when riot police officers wiped protesting Lekki residents to their various houses when they were protesting the tolling of the roads. This same Lekki-Epe express road is yet to be completed. I have cited in previous threads, that the concession was conceived by a very good financial fraudster. Let's stop being biased and be honest, Fashola's administration was filled with propaganda and less action. Even Ambode, another slacker, had to revoke some many lands acquired and gifted by Fashola. I do not know what kind of pressure Buhari went through to pick him as a minister-nominee, however, I would have felt the same way he went about appointing the NNPC MD should be applicable. We do not need recycled politicians, we want fresh thinking, ideas popping technocrats. |
Bad news for Konga and Jumia |
frisky2good:Best advice so far. Pretty Straightforward for those who truly understand. OP find out if he truly works in Shell and in what capacity (Full time or Contract), you can do this by visiting him and scan his ID card. Do not tell him you are coming. Request to see him from the Front Desk Officer. Once you have confirmed this, I think you should avail the entire sum to him. He would be joking with his job for this paltry sum of money. On the other hand, I wonder why a training that is free would still have hidden cost attached to it. Also, Ministerial appointments do not stop Corporate Organisations from carrying on their operations. I highlighted these points because of the red flags they indicate. Anyways do your homework and if you do lose the money, it is a learning point on not trusting people you consider friends, however, it is not the end of the world. Life is a risk - take it. Do nothing and die knowing nothing. |
People who have no knowledge about things, wake up, don't brush their teeth and start writing. Children do not really know what they want even Adults. It is a difficult thing. Only matured minds can actually sit down and determine what they truly want. It is important for Parents to guide their children on the path they should choose. Now what I would critique is the approach parents indulge. Some use force, mere folklores or insultive words. On the other hand, Children in their ignorant nature can choose some ridiculous fields probably being influenced by the media or friends. I read something from Ngozi Okonjo Iweala. She said her dad always gives her economic books to read and made it exciting for her. Thus, her interest in economics grew. I also had a female friend, whose dad, in his effort to encourage his kids to enjoy maths, made it exciting by using word plays and games whilst promising them cash gifts if they could solve puzzles. All her sisters including herself are Engineers. Parents can guide their children and assist them with making a good decision with career choices. It is not just by telling them, it is important to show and guide them. Draw their attention to role models, important people and I don't mean wizkid et al. |
