unbitchable:Dude, kids of 16 are entering university o! And you are still canvassing for free education for kids below 18? |
After Diezani, I am no longer excited when these so called technocrats enter government. they are usually just as incompetent and corrupt as normal politicians. To get things done in Nigeria's public service you need an uncommon will, which many of these technocrats don't have. Think about it though, ALL Nigerian Ministers of Education have been Professors, yet education in Nigeria has not improved in decades!!! How does a professor who went to school and suffered academic rigour to become a Professor announce to the nation that UTME cut off for the North is 100, while in the South it's 240!! Shouldn't it be based on merit? Shouldn't those scoring 100 be required to study harder? Also, ALL ministers of Health have been Doctors, yet Health has not improved since the days of Dr Ransome Kuti. |
LibertyRep:Guy leave this good old days mentality. In 1960 Nigeria had a population of 60mln with 2million barrels at a time when $1 was worth like $5 today. Now we have 200mln people ,majority of whom are school age and we still produce 2mln barrels. Isn't it obvious we can no longer afford to do things the way they were done 50years ago? If the education makes sense and will add value to your life anyone should be willing to pay even 20k for it per term even if it means taking an education loan . |
Is it possible to UNLAMINATE?? |
Sanwo Olu appears clueless as to what he wants to do. The guy seems to be all talk and no action. Not seeing anything productive and creative that he's doing. Really had high hopes for the guy, but seems I was wrong. |
A day will come in our darling nation, that people from other country will come to Nigeria to give birth, just for their children to become Nigerian citizens! If we don't get to see it, our unborn children will most def witness it. Say Amen if you believe. God bless Nigeria
Ain't gonna happen!! There are few countries that are as lost as we are in Nigeria. Other countries are actually going forward while we are clearly going backwards. |
Since when is it the staff of the party that enable the party to win elections in Nigeria. the staff are just there to administer the party and not to play active politics. they have no hand in how the party win elections. |
mrgoodd:Sorry but I think that's a daft idea! As you know in Nigeria everyone will go and register party for the sake of government largesse |
AmazingELixir:Good point, but we also have no proof that it ISN'T a church. Bottom line the building should not be there, church or not! |
I am a Redeemed member and I'm ashamed that this church has been sanctioned by any higher authority. Doesn't that province have a sensible PICP?? What is right is right and what is wrong is wrong and this is very wrong! Even as a Redeemed member, if I became a Governor or Commissioner for environment a lot of Redeemed (and other do nominations) churches like this and others in residential areas will be shut down. |
How does closure of the border affect rice coming in from Benin Republic.? As far as I know rice is SMUGGLED into the country and does not come in through the normal border posts. So what good does official border closure do. |
All the better sef. It will ensure that only those who value you will come to your wedding. Those who come to only eat rice will not be there and from this alone who will know who your true friends and family are. |
I thought Akwa Ibom state government also established a pencil factory a few years ago. |
So on what basis was the 2017 contract signed? I thought as at then there was already a loan agreement in place. |
Dygeasy:What stupid right?? The reason why we haven’t had electricity in this country is because we the people refuse to pay the correct price for it. We want it subsidised like we subsidise petrol, hajj, university education and more!! Those in Magodo who have now decided to pay the market price have now started enjoying round the clock electricity!! If you stay in an estate with 24 hour power, your are in effect paying the market price, though that is an inefficient price because we use diesel at a low scale instead of gas at a huge scale. I agree that the country is poverty stricken but the pay market prices in Ghana, Togo and Benin, why then should Nigeria be different? |
JB4life:What alternative arrangement would you propose? |
Not so sure what the fuss is about. If an aircraft crashed now, then everyone complaining here would be blaming the Federal government. ENUGU was only made international airport about 5years ago and before then people in the SE who really needed to travel did so. This closure will be only for a while, runway fixed and it will be back to normal. So what should people in Ilorin or Akure do when they want to travel? They should be cursing FG because there is no international airport near them? Don't they first fly or drive to lagos or Abuja before flying out? Lagos Akure is same as PH ENUGU. And left to me if they made bus available I wouldn't use it cos its just an attraction to militants and kidnappers of the east. Would rather go myself as low key as possi ble. |
hammerFC:Shallow thinking. |
amliftedhigher:Shocking logic and line of thought!! Usless government processes, unproductive, corrupt and unnecessary staff affect you in more ways than one. 1. Paying uncessesary salaries means less money for infrastructure such as schools, roads and hospitals. 2. Corrupt staff in government makes it difficult for citizens to access government services. Try securing drivers license, passport, police report without settling. 3. Relying on manual processes run by corrupt staff makes it easier for government big wigs to steal massive amounts of money. If processes were computerised there would be more of an audit trail. 4. Manual processes run by many staff pushing files from desk to desk slows down governance. |
wirinet:Does that include split unit AC's? |
hush15:Well unfortunately almost 100% of the equipment needed to generate electricity comes from abroad, so forex affects the final price. Like it or not, that is the unfortunate reality. And electricity is quite expensive anywhere. |
StrikeBack:personally, i think that's a fallacious statement because even now with the current low tarrifs people don't pay. Funny enough if power becomes available 24/7, even with the current tarrif people will pay more because their fridges and freezers will now be on round the clock. |
I wonder what this man does and how much tax he pays. If I were the boss of LIRS or Firs, I would be very interested in how much these individuals who flaunt wealth on social media pay as tax. I won't be surprised to hear that Davido or Linda Ikeji don't pay any tax. |
Whilst I don't mean any disrespect for the man, we need to stop being sentimental about such things in this country. Okay so he designed a very simple three rectangular, 2 colour flag for Nigeria. And so what really? Its not like he invented a rocket or split atoms or some other type achievement that benefited humanity. To be honest to ourselves, there is nothing significant or monumental about that flag design. |
Otunba2004:I'm beginning to feel that way too |
So inaugurating a cabinet in 90 days is now a campaign promise and an achievement? We are so lost in this country! I really want Sanwo Olu to do well, but he's already beginning to look like all noise and talk but no action. A lot of street lights have stopped working since he resumed office and I cannot find anything significant he has done since he assumed office. As for his cabinet, it seems like a political settlement arrangement. Mrs Solape Hammond is daughter of former Ondo state governor Agagu!! While she's doing well in her own right as one of the founders of Impact Hub, it remains to be seen whether she won't fall into the same incompetence trap our so called technocrats fall into once they get into government. |
How can this be upgraded to 18 Have you not seen what the 2018 accord looks like? Its a totally different generation of accord!!No accord from the previous generation (2013-2017) can be upgraded to 2018!! |
I can almost bet it that this car was flooded. The engine bay picture shows rust on most of the nuts and bolts. If you know, you know. ![]() |
thesicilian:Genius!! |
Aig na better player!! Fine boy and very smooth with the ladies! Unless he has changed from when we dey rock Awolowo Road (before all the joints went to Lekki) |
That looks like the interior of the presidential jet |
Don't be surprised that after a while the head of the NEDC will convert it to his official residence. |
