I am typing this piece with Disappointment, I least expected this.

So, I finished My Youth Service with Joy and gladness, and was back home till I get a good paying job, since I studied Metalogy/Civil Enginnering in the University..

As a Sure guy with Parly (Certificate)
I was very much confident of getting a nice paying job, So I started my Journey as a Job Seeker..

1st year, 2nd year, went by, and still nothing, So i decided to digress into something else for the meantime, everyone knows how Nigeria is .

I decided to pop into Teaching, atleast 'head still fresh'
I got this job, in a Primary school, the Headmistress and I agreed on a 30,000 monthly salary... I was happy though .

I resumed work, truth be told it was fun, but Sour at last..
I never knew this Madam was in for a trick..

Things were going well oo!
Firstly, Late to work a day - 5,000 deducted
Not being audible enough in the classroom - 3,000 deduction
Pupils not able to grab the day's work - 2,000 deducted
Failure to mark pupils note/ asessment/ assignment - 5,000 deduction
Few pupils failing Test, Oral questions and Examination - 5,000 deduction....

I was called for my salary, then Mrs. Headmistress brought out my file of report and defects , i was shocked when she tabled a sum of 15,000 naira as my salary for the month and Said "Welcome" I couldn't Fanthom where I was but i gathered myself and said "Thank you ma"

According to my fellow staff, this was the hidden principle in The School, people's salaries were deducted to nothing ...


I went home and slept throughout the week ..

Now Do you think I continue in this Mess or Venture into frying of akara and become self employed..


what are your thoughts, help a brother!!

I will advise you go into akara business in the morning then in the evening you think of roasting fish barbecue or chicken and noddles

That means you have morning and evening street foods

Food is the only thing that is steady in business this hard times

But you will need extra hands to assist you to run both day and night

You can add specialy prepared raw pap that is well spiced with ginger and cloves so that when they buy akara they buy pap, go home and prepare it

I'm 21 and because of ASUU strike has been doing some jobs which I earn little from.

I planned to save them to buy a new phone and the likes.

But if a bill arises like NEPA bill, Gas filling etc and no one is around, I usually foot the bill.

This had made me spend unplanned.

As I cannot ask my parents for a refund , what do I do?

You are trying to save for your personal effects
You end up spending on house matters

What about your parents, are they tired of doing that or you want to assist them

It's too early for you to start picking up bills while in school and your parents can still foot those bills

I think you should save for your resumption and plan to get personal effects that you may need so that you don't ask your parents for money when going back to school

The kids went for holiday with my mom and you can't believe a 6 yrs old already knows how to loose a door key with a knife...

I need advice how I can take care of 2kids age 6 and 4, a boy and a girl...

I go out to work around 8 and come back around 6:30pm but I can always close around 6 cos it is my business...

Since you can afford to live in a two bedroom flat, that means you can afford to take care of these kids, but you neglected them and left them with their mum

What else do you expect her to do with those kids

If you hate their mum then you have to do something about the kids

You can discuss with their mother what type of business she can do so that you set her up and get a room apartment for her

It's actually a shame that you are still alive and your children are squatting in a hotel

Do you know that these children are already exposed to the other bad side of life

Well I don't have any blame for their mother for doing what she did, that was the only way she can make a living and keep them going to school and feeding them

For her to be living in the hotel and works their, don't ask me if her job includes short time for quick service

I don't know what she diesytjeir as services and how she operates there

What I care is you getting accommodation for them and let them have a living

Pay their school fees and provide the much or little you can

Visit them often, spend time with them and play with them especially the children

Alternatively, negotiate with their mum to take the children to your mum and she is free to visit them as much as she wants

That too will be a relieve on her

As far as am concerned, you are not part of this children life
Untill you put them in a decent home and place and take charge of their education

There's this school I previously worked as a Teacher about a year ago. I was asked to stop work because of disagreement I had with the Vice Principal. Now, a year later, the school is recruiting for Teachers with their vacant positions advertised on a banner and I am currently looking for similar positions to apply for.

My question is, will it make sense to go back to that same school and apply for a job?

I will try to make this missive brief. In 200level, I dropped out of school because I took in. The guy I was pregnant for later died few months later.

I stayed with my mum and eventually gave birth and I nursed my boy and provided for him because my parent were financially handicapped.

Few months later, I started a fruit biz. It eventually flourish and I was able to get an apartment and I started providing for myself and my boy.

Although biz is not as flourishing as before due to the present nation's predicament. Not much sales. Things are getting a bit bad.

Now, I'm at the crossroad. I really want to pick a school of nursing form but my boy and biz is stunting my plans. I'm confuse. Please, what will you advise me to do?

Should I look for the form or focus on my biz?

This point in your life is where you need your parents most

Talk with them about keeping your child with them to start your nursing career

That's the way your mind will be at rest while you are in school

Your child will be taken care of by your parents

Please men have mercies for your wives. My colleague's husband doesn't eat frozen foods, meaning she cooks every day for him. She closes from work by 5 and gets home before 7, she goes to market everyday to cook soup for the husband.

I really do feel for her, to the extent the man threatening her to resign so she can take care of him (He earns below 50k and she earns much more).

She says when a soup/stew/ other meals reaches 24 hours the husband cannot eat them again.

I feel for her seeing her in the morning at work looking stress out

So base on the salary both of them receives,
The man earns less than her, yet he doesn't eat frozen foods

I can understand that she is basically the one feeding him and the family and pay most bills

Then back to the topic
So she cooks every day and am sure from her pocket

That man salary is not even enough to feed the family assuming they preserve foods in the freezer not to talk much about cooking daily and using gas, even if it's firewood

I moved into this new apartment recently and I found the toilet sink so stained.
I am not really comfortable with it.

Get battery acid water from a Batter charger

Drain the water in the closet with a mopping stick
Then pour the battery water into it but be careful because it's acid

Leave it for a while like 10mins and use toilet brush and omo to scrub it off

Then flush it out

The exact salary he earned while he worked is exactly what he's earning in pension. I'm sure of that. We've talked to him before. Right from his youth he always had lots of friends, he even trained most of his relative in school. He was also able to build two storey building and has lots of land (Atleast he hasn't remembered to be selling them lol),but because he was in active service he could always finance those ridiculous expenses but now he's a pensioner he still maintains most of his friends draining his pocket. No one asks him for money because our family size is small and all of us are doing well in on our own but Atleast he should learn to manage himself and stop the ridiculous high expense lifestyle. The last time I was with him to a function, he took all of us to a joint and spent alot on us and I got to understand that's his usual routine lol

Since it's now a habit he formed from his youth days, don't expect him to stop it at all

I think you guys should keep demanding from him and make him to take you guys out untill he has nothing in his pocket at that giving time
