QuizPay:Ok. I won't probe further |
Prettiepearlz:It's because we always try to please inlaws, that's why we take all the nonsense. My friend put to bed about 8months ago. When her inlaws visited and stayed a week, she didn't cook once. She said she as a new mum, still healing and going through postpartum stress couldn't be entering kitchen to cook for anyone. |
pocohantas:This thread would have been filled with the usual wailers. They would have crucified her and it would be on 12 pages by now. But see! they are conspicuously quiet. The hypocrites! |
She's a prayer warrior and she's cohabiting with you. So, is the prayer before or after the sex? Or she takes a break to fast and pray and breaks the fast with sex. Which one? |
queenfav:She was expecting the new mum to go to the market to cook a fresh meal like there's something wrong with food from the freezer. If it were her daughter, would she expect the same? It's the op that cannot defend his wife that is to blame. |

I'm talking about their introductions. They even do "and co" native...agbada and...Almost nothing different between a introduction and traditional marriage. And no need to take offence. I'm only saying what I know because I have Yoruba family. |
Lamanii22:Eventually, you will be taken for granted because he knows that whatever offence he commits, he doesn't have to take responsibility and apologize. I mean, he has a wife who apologizes even for him. |
Acidosis:It's Yorubas that make it a big ceremony. In my place, introduction is done in the sitting room with just close family. They don't even see the bride, except a special request is made with a drink and cash. And the bride is dressed as she would dress at home. |
AlhajiBitcoin:No they are brothers |
Pastorjohn2:To most of this parents, what you are looking at 1.2m is like 12,000 to them. Do you know the amount they offer to God? Let's not use our situation to judge others. You are looking at it like big money because you don't have it. |
Bluezy13:He will grow up soon. We'll all witness it. |
AllahIsSatan:That how many Nigerians treat any foreign adopted idea. They take it and overdo it. They carry it on their heads more than those who created it and they bastardize it. Real redpillers won't take the op seriously. |
Tejumola856:What are you saying? Did you read to understand the situation? He has 7 children Seven! And he is giving attention he is meant to give to his younger children to strange people. And you are here talking about jealousy. |
socialmediaman:This your question ehn! ![]() |
otokpamike: funniest thing I have read here. So guys on NL have a sense of humor. Not only to bash ladies. |
Wow! Staying apart is better for you guys. But for how long? Different strokes for different folks because mine is the other way round. When I had to go stay with my sister after putting to bed, I planned to stay one month. But by less than two weeks, I wanted to go home. My husband too suddenly realized that one month was too long ![]() OP it's better for husband and wife to be together except in situations where they can't help it. But your reason for allowing her relocate alone to another state is not good enough. |
mixta140:I don't think you are quoting the right person. Because I cannot see where I said one person was right with their actions. |
Mariangeles:I agree. I read a lot when I was pregnant. I got to know about letting them sleep in their beds. So, from the hospital, my babies have slept in their own beds. I read about separation anxiety and I didn't want that kind of attachment. So I sent my baby to creche from like 7-8months to make her see other people. I don't like too much carrying because babies get used to whatever you do with them. So even when my MIL and inlaws were around, I didn't allow them carry her a lot. I keep her in her bouncer, in her bed, on my bed, etc.. Whatever we complain about that the babies do, we unknowingly caused them. |
When he was baby, they would have gotten a maid to keep him busy while they got busy since he was proving difficult. As he got older, send him to grandma's place. Let her know the situation and let her keep an eye on him and see how he wants to swallow tv. If anything happens, they should rush him to the hospital. After all, the parents are not doctors. All in all, I think the story is exaggerated. |
ibechris:High paying job that those people complain about is 1m and above, not 400k. I know many people from a particular bank that were earning big that relocated to Canada. One has even set up a law practice for his wife there. Quora hasn't got that information yet. Even people earning 800k move. 400k has not arrived yet with the turmoil in Nigeria. |
That is the first rule of sleep with kids. Never allow them sleep on the same bed from when they are babies. Never! I learnt this and my babies go from the hospital to their own beds. I would take the pain to stand up, pick them up and breastfeed. Because getting them to stop sleeping in your bed is one of the hardest things to do. Just gradually get her to sleep in her bed. It's not easy to start sleeping alone when you have been sleeping with people from birth. |
You should have had a serious talk with her nau. Even if she was at fault for withholding sex, your actions have made her right. It would have been better if you had reported her to a family member. Now you can't even afford to involve anyone because of the shame. I think at this point if you cannot get through to her, you should report yourself to someone she respects. And please, don't ever do that again. |
The girl that is risking her life and allowing herself to be used anyhow is who I blame. She took drugs and injection from a chemist. Now she's agreeing to risk her life and womb to remove a 4month old pregnancy. All this for a guy she is not committed to. She opened her leg and accepted him raw. Now see the consequences. |
babyfaceafrica:They are usually moved around. He could be posted out of Borno and be where he can be closer to his family. In the meantime, he should take advantage of phone calls and video calls. He can try to tell them stories to sleep some nights. Make video calls when they are doing their homework to contribute. Tell them he is sending money for icecream and tell their mum to take them to buy it, and confirm that she does it. When he's around, he should not only concentrate on being the disciplinarian. He should make the time with them count. Children never forget the times they spend with their parents. |
babyfaceafrica:It still depends on the man. I attended a military secondary, though I was a "bloody civilian" lol. My close friend's dad was an army officer. This guy was so close to his kids. He hardly ever missed a visiting day with their mum. I remember one visiting day he came, he bought my friend a red bra. We were just going through puberty then. It was so funny. He knew when they were on their period (they were four girls). He was a colonel at that time. There are always ways to fill in the gaps if the man is determined to be close to his children. |
Good thing men are wiser in dealing with their children these days. It should not only be to drop money and discipline. Let them love you too. If you are going to play ball or for your routine exercise, take the kids along and let them do their own alongside. Take them to the supermarket sometimes and buy icecream and stuff. Take them for outings and parties with you. Do weekend homework with them. It's just that some men cannot and don't want to be bothered with taking care of the children. They prefer to leave it to their mum to worry about it. |
ariesbull:Just to support her. No one asked her to draw the artist. Why didn't she draw one of her lecturers or friends if it's just about talent. And her mouth put her into trouble. You can even imagine her calling the actress fake. If I were the actress, that is the end of the transaction. |
ariesbull:She didn't ask the artist to draw her. She can as well go and sell it in a gallery since it's worth a lot. I'm sure people will buy it. A smart artist would have put the actress in a difficult position by telling her to paying anything for it. She would have probably got more than 120k. |
daddytime:You are mean ![]() |
DenreleDave:While I don't think the OP's wife set out to kill her mother inlaw, her lack of care and attention for the woman may have contributed to her death. It's a pity that the woman died especially at this point where her daughter in law's maltreatment was evident. Everything will be put on her. |
I think the major problem is the corruption in many universities where they don't allow students graduate without sorting, whether or not they pass their exams. And parents won't want their children's years in school extended and affecting their results and chances of employment. So they are compelled to sort. So can we say it's wrong or right? It's debatable. |
Vision101:So you have also noticed. Always arguing back and forth like he wrote the Bible and is an island of all understanding of the scriptures. Even on general level, he sees things only black and white; no grey areas. It's always an ideal situation for him. No form of empathy or consideration. |
