This is one area Nigerians have it good. No tax man to contend with at the end of every year IRS is no joke. Harassed the be-Jesus out of me. But this hip hop artistes are idiots. Before issues with IRS get to this stage, they must have written to warn him several times. Boy, they love to write those subtly threatening letters. |
/ The battle line is drawn PREDICTION: RSG Lodge will be cordoned off on June 25th and 26th by fierce-looking armed personnel // |
Zero effort.. Money is always in my glovebox..
OK ooo! You are my hero. Stop taking unnecessary risks. |
Policewoman: We also have rules of engagement in the police force. If investigations are carried out and the policeman is found to have acted wrongly, believe me he will be punished by the authorities.Rules of engagement? LOL. You are putting the cart before the horse. How many of those killers in uniform were ever punished? It is usually settled under esprit de corp. By the way, when are you going to arrest the Ombatse leader since you people are the ultimate hero that you are? |
Two most important reasons to run away from Nigeria Police: 1. If you commit a crime. /* This is a no brainer especially if you have no godfather */ 2. If you have some cash on you. /*By default, the police will steal it */ Since Okija wants to speculate, I will suspect that may be the driver had some hard currency on him that he did not want the policemen to steal based on trumped up charges. You remember how policemen usually hang around banks in Lagos to steal money from people who receive money from Moneygram/Western Union after being alerted by their accomplices that work in the bank. No arrests. No charges. Sighs. Okija, if you want to be honest...How much effort do you put in hiding your money in your car b/c you are scared some policemen will see it in one of those their numerous stop and search expedition? |
First of all its not very smart to speak so certainly about things you you are not absolutely sure of. Its always safer to speculate. Secondly, running away from the Police in Nigeria of Today is a very dumb move.. Not with Boko Haram, Kidnapping and high criminal levels. You may never live to tell your side of the story. And its funny.. I drive good cars (my oldest is a 2007 Honda city).. I have never had reason to run from the police. And I have been searched severally. The only time I came close to running from the police, I didnt know. I was just speeding on my own by 11pm at night and the police in an unmarked car gave chase, cornered me and 8 Mobile poice men came out Guns drawn.. They searched my car thoroughly, even tossed the 50'k in the glove box as if it were a piece of paper.. When they were done, they warned me never to drive like that again.. Jumped into their bus and drove off without even asking to see my papers.. All I showed them was my Company I.D card. So whats all these talk about Police being bad. The max they do is ask you for an outrageous document like 'import duty' or something to collectmoney from you. If you stand your ground (quietly), stay with them, tell em to arrest you and take you to their station, they normally allow you go. Running from the Police is always a dumb idea.. Not only do you put your life in danger, but that of others..
I am in no way holding brief for the student. It might not have been a good idea to run away from the police. But the policeman's response was extreme. Simple. There was no threat to this officer's life and he chose to use firearm. I don't know how much of tactical experience you have, but I will leave it at that. Do these look familiar? https://www.nigeriastandardnewspaper.com/t9cl/upload/54_Nigeria_Police_Fighting.jpg https://www.codewit.com/images/stories/Africa/Nigeria/01042013C-Nigerian-Police.jpg |
lol... Let me just tell you now incase you dont know.. An AK-47 would pierce through your boot, pass the back seat, pass the driver seat, pierce through you and lodge in the steering wheel or your dash board.. You cant outrun a bullet, even in a Bugatti Veyron. Except you have a bullet proof car with the capacity to withstand the bullet of an Full Automatic rifle, I suggest you stop. Even the standard issue Police bullet proof vest cant stop an AK-47 bullet. Running away from the Police is the dumbest thing you can do.. I'll rather be alive and in Police custody than be in a mortuary dead.. #Common Sense
That's why he should not shoot in the first place. If the student entered the campus in his car, they could easily follow the car and arrest the driver or have the car towed. Knowing Nigeria police, the driver was running away from brazen extortion. Personally, when I visit Nigeria I don't stop for those idiots unless they had the barricades. I usually tell my lead Hilux to step on it. |
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! Like seriously!! WOW!!!!!
I guess you live in another planet. |
Very Professional move from the Police men I must say... I believe the standard Police procedure in a chase is to shoot out the tyres, do a pit manuever, deploy spkies or chase till they run out of gas. Others would have shot to kill... NOW!! Why were the students being chased by the Police? Thats the million dollar question. It may have been dangerous to shoot in a crowded area, but it was equally dangerous for a crazed student driver to be speeding to avoid arrest as well in a densely populated area..
I beg to differ! You live in Nigeria and you know how effective the men in black are especially in terms of bribery, assault, killing and planting incriminating objects on victims. Like they say, "vooom" is better than statement b/c you are not dealing with civilized law enforcement personnel. |
/ You would think m...f@ckers learned from the experiences of Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield, Allen Iverson and our own Dan Amokachie. They had it, flaunted it and lost it all. // |

/ These Custom officers are menace to society especially the inland officers. They are mere toll collectors. I have had so many run-ins with them. If your car has proper documents, they extort N1000 per car, more for SUVs. And they will let you know. I believe across-the-border car smugglers a.k.a Suicide drivers pay different prices when cornered. // |

/ If choice of big vocabularies to lose the audience is a mark of intellectualism, then WS is so many levels less complex than Hon. Patrick Obahiagbon. I don't see what's the big deal. CA died and was buried. WS grabbed his dictionary, copied and churned out all the BS that later found its way to a few of the media houses that pander to his grandiose delusions. Impressive? Naaa! WS should go siddon jare! // |
/ Na guilty conscience dey worry Mr.Soyinka. Medicine after death. Out of jealousy, he used jazz/otumokpo to set road accident for Chinua. Usually one is not expected to see the corpse of someone he/she intended to or may have killed. So Wole Soyinka did not attend so that he would not see Chinua's corpse. He really thinks he is smart. And people think there is only beefs in hip hop...No! Even in literary world. Only a coward would wait for someone's demise to call them out. If you got something to say, say it when the man was still alive so that he could rebut the opinion therein stated. // |
/ I.T. in British Army will be good. Are you a Briton? I think your will only be granted low level security clearance if you are not a Briton..just for security and anti-espionage purposes. // |

/ Quality work. But lacks originality. More like an African rendition of Michael Jackson's thriller P-Square needs to come out of the shadow of Usher and Michael Jackson // |
/ This guy must be really bad in music. How could he go from music to being a certified nurse (CNA) which is another word for "a.ss wiper"? He could have started a business or something. There is dignity in labour, they say but there is no dignity in a grown man at his prime wiping the a.sses of old white people for a chicken change. Let's call a spade a spade // |
Ishilove: What do you expect the man to ride in? Aba/Onitsha made cars? Yes, he should be rolling in Innoson limousine surrounded by bags of sand for protection. He should go for local content. Heck! Surround the limousine with jazz/otumokpo/odeshi bulletproof prepared by Ombatse. U never know..if it works really well...Nigeria will be exporting this to the other Presidents Oyibo dey come Africa to buy odeshi and rename it frequency-jamming equipment. What again is the difference between plantain chips and pekele? No be name? |
Symphony007: The u.s love to overhype themeselves...there is a car more sorphisticated than the cardillac one and that is the bentley state limo owned by queen elizabeth ii, the car can withstand the wave of a nuclear attack, it can run on flat tires, it operates with cooking oil, it is sir tight protecting the occupants from a gas attack, the doors are like vault doors, the doors can open 190 degrees,it is driven by an experienced MI6 agent, many more features of the car are secret and only two of this car were made and exist in the world and those two are owned by the queen. It offers the protection they need. Period! If the Queen's limo likes let it evaporate in thin air. US government can afford any car they want but they chose Cadillac--an American company for security and Intelligence reasons. What is GEJ rolling on? Mercedes--a German car? And you think GEJ is not being monitored? LOL. Once you trust outsiders with huge interests to provide your comfort, you are toast. |
pro01: Thank God it wasn't fatal, even though the car was badly damaged.Haha...You know how Nigerians like to exaggerate price tags on items. I read it and just laughed it off. The highest price tag on Panamera I saw in Nigeria is because of the location--Transcorp Hilton, Abuja. The price tag on that one is Besides, the Whizkid's Panamera is not the high end Turbo S ( He has the Panamera S which is about $85k [N13.5m](still expensive though) but nothing close to the price tag they are brandishing. Other than for show off, I don't even know why any rational human being will buy such expensive car to drive on Nigeria roads. Western artists do it for tax write off. What could be the excuse for Whizkid? Bragging right? |
/ Kini big deal? It is a marketing strategy that is bound to fail. The bottle was not even opened. Even a bottle of cocaine will not cost that much. Not to talk of wine wey u go pee off in the next 15 mins. Whoever buys this drink in Nigeria deserves ALUU treatment // |
blink182: remember America is a $12trn economy while Nigeria's is about $380bn. There are local councils in America that probably have budget as big as Nigeria's budget. To put it into perspective. US has 50 states California is 1/50 states in USA Los Angeles is one of the major metropolitan areas in California. Los Angeles economy is $700b while Nigeria as a country is $380bn Comparing Nigeria to USA is like comparing Angwan Rimi to Lagos USA > California > Los Angeles >........> Nigeria STOP COMPARING NIGERIA TO USA! |
/ This could not possibly be OPC. Where are the machetes and charms? // |
/ A house divided does what? // |
angelinvestor: Nigeria is in danger, yet thousands of entrepreneurs and investors from South Africa, Lebanon, China, India, etc are trooping to Nigeria to invest and the stock market is booming. Well, it all depends on your own perspective. It you believe Nigeria is toast, then it is toast to you. Thousands? You are a great statistician! What aspect of the Nigeria economy are the foreigners investing in? I hope you don't think that these vultures that move money from one country to the other leaving havoc in return when their mission is accomplished as investors. Look at Greece, Cyprus, Spain, etc. It is a pattern my friend. If Nigeria cannot find inward solutions to her problems, then it is doomed. |
Jomark: is your ink freezed? Write the book nah. Before I do and you guys will criticize. You know you guys like criticizing masterpiece. It's high time you wrote your own for your own! ![]() |
