Men... this is a proud moment in history. |
Maxymilliano:Men, you took the words right out of my mouth... that's why I said we will soon be crying SWAT instead of SARS. Na the same same. We don't want special forces. Just establish factory for these thugs so they will have jobs without access to weapons. We like acronyms sha. Why is it we like changing names for agencies, but still nothing works? NEPA, NAPEP, FRC, FEPA, SARS, and even PHCN were renamed... nothing changed. The only time police will calm down in this country is if citizens are authorized to bear arms. |
As it should be. Unlike some people whose mother told them not to go out... ![]() |
So 8 years from now we will be crying "end SWAT" abi? Different name, same criminals. ![]() |
Thank you my able governor. It's wise for government to let people protest and vent their anger, than to let that anger boil over and consume the government. Arab Spring and the civil wars in some places happened because police didn't allow people to express themselves. |
So OPEC countries (I'm looking at Saudi, and non-OPEC like Russia) that have been increasing their own capacity with no noise. Nigeria starts, and they're complaining |
Which is why you have EFCC to investigate. Cars are registered, and have license plates... you can investigate these covertly using the federal register. If things look suspicious you can invite the person to produce bill of sale and a paper trail of the funds. (as in where the money came from to pay for the car), etc. Under no circumstances should the suspicion become a license to kidnap, threaten, or kill a suspect. |
Courageous woman. Yet, if she runs for president, what will our youths say? They'll be the first to start abusing her. |
KingAzubuike:We should not conflate rightful complainants against abuse, with some elements that have their own selfish agenda. Afterall, yahoo boys routinely settle SARS and get away with it. EFCC is who should be investigating Yahoo boys. That's their purview. Use the resources of EFCC to actually investigate electronic crimes. SARS was created to investigate and prosecute people involved in crimes like armed robbery, kidnapping, etc. They have not been empowered to perform routine stop and search, presume anybody guilty, nor summarily investigate and prosecute them on mere appearance. Their modus operandi is to operate covertly, with unmarked clothes and unmarked vehicles, and monitor actual criminal activity in physical space (and not electronic). They have obviously long overstepped their bounds and have become the kidnappers and armed robbers they were supposed to prosecute. If somebody detains you at gunpoint and demands payment, what do you call that? |
My Ughelli brothers don dey para oo... make DPO no make mistake slap person like we saw for Owerri... dem go cancel am join ![]() |
MrNipplesLover: Charmingrascal:My brothers no vex... how is a girl supposed to sell market without IG? Her sponsors are out there being disturbed by all this #EndSars talk... so let them find something nice to enjoy the evening with ![]() |
LikeAking:You gerrit... I was even thinking kpe I should visit Yaounde for research purposes next year. ![]() |
ebenhazard:Yes it is. Lending one's voice to a worthy cause is an achievement. Funny, most people are busy typing, while their mates are out there defending their rights. |
You know the funny thing? These two would make a great team. Both tough, wise attorneys, with lots of experience in public service as Congressman and Governor (Pence), and as Attorney General and Senator (Harris). Both would bring great value to America with their sane points of view without the vitriol. |

FuckThaMod:I find it funny that Biafrans don't want to depend on no man's land... but are asking Abuja to develop their ports. Usually independence means you do your own thing with your own strength, so I just found this comment ironic ![]() (I'm from Asaba, BTW) |
ume1000:Violence is not cool by either gender... it takes a big man to just smile and walk away. If you have to break up, do it. Don't be on the news for hitting a chick. |
Jafar1:No, what is being said is: God has given humans wisdom to save themselves from bad leadership and bad habits. In spite of the evidence that humans in developed countries have saved themselves, Nigerians are still asking God to do what he has equipped them to do on their own. It's like you already showed somebody how to fish... but every damn day they come to beg you for fish. |
blinking001:She put it on her IG. People who are interested looked and decided to carry the news. All publicity is good publicity. She has DJing work, brand sponsorship, and a song to push now and then. Publicity helps the checks come in. falcon01:Who tell you? All na publicity jare. |
Ballmer:Apparently, her husband, her parents and in-laws saw nothing wrong with it. She didn't walk the streets of Abuja - she was at a private wedding - and whoever commented looked at the picture, decided they didn't like what they saw, and raised a stink. |
The words "haram" and "Islam" come from the same people that brought the world belly dancing... please explain to me why one form of dress is OK, but not the other? I'm sure people will try to rationalize it, that the context is not the same, that there is entertainment vs matrimony, etc... but I'm just pointing out that all the outrage... is all in the individual's head.

Good for her. Too many Nigerians dey fear water. ![]() Imagine living in a coastal city like Lagos and never once entering water. |
Amotolongbo:You too get mouth ![]() seanwilliam:This is the right thing to do: disassociate from people who don't hold your values, and send the message that you don't tolerate it. Are you implying that his employer should look the other way while he assaults women? If society at large (including employers), took this issue more seriously, men would think twice before hitting a lady. Unfortunately, we still kinda excuse violence (psychological and physical) when it's a woman pepertuating it, but that too has to stop. |
PoliteActivist:Indeed. Please tell us what you do when confronted by just one police officer with a gun. It's easy to type a few words admonishing the actions of our heroes past, when we haven't confronted 1/100th what they've experienced. |
yeyeboi:Somebody wrote this, and amazingly I agree... “Armed robbers please fight for us against this SARS people, if you are an armed robber reading this biko fight for us, na only una fit fight these SARS people for us. Arise and fight for your customers.”If we could come to an understanding, I will gladly leave 20k in envelope for men of the underworld annually if they can rid us of SARS. |
Kestolove:It's a pity you thought this comment appropriate, and that you got so many likes for it. A brief history and perspective: It is estimated that between May and November 1966, about 30,000 Igbos were killed in Northern Nigeria - ostensibly in retaliation for the coup that saw the assassination of HRH Sardauna of Sokoto Amhadu Bello, the PM Sir Balewa, and other high ranking military officers from the North. In retaliation, Northerners in the East were also killed, but to a much smaller extent. If you are the governor of a region, and people are singing (in Hausa): Mu je mu kashe nyamiriAnd the wider Nigerian government, then as now, does nothing to protect all its citizens, it behooves you, as their leader, to remove them from a country that only seeks their extermination. That is not an act of rebellion nor cowardice. So please, show some respect, and do not sully the name of General Odumegwu Ojukwu for cheap points. Without Britain's (and America's) shameful role in supporting genocide (providing arms, logistic and political support to killers in order to protect their business interests), the Half of the Yellow Sun would never have been lowered in defeat. I respectfully honor the memory of all who died on all sides. Civil war between brothers is not a laughing matter. |
Nigeria's "Permanent Representative to the United Nations World Tourism Organisation" has a penchant for showing off other countries... but let me stop talking before "Igbo Amaka" people come and gag me. ![]() |
Leaving the hospital to return to the White House where all the necessary equipment has been put into place. Who's fooling who? But swift recovery sha... though it's a pity you didn't try the chlorine bleach treatment that you advocated (and some silly sheep were echoing) |
Army warning it's personnel to be wary of road trips? If army dey fear then who born us ordinary citizen? ![]() I've never heard this before... ![]() At this rate, Chad can invade us oh
|
zicoraads:Very interesting analysis... you mean the same youth that stood by while keke drivers were being harassed, hair shaven and so on? Not even on the excuse that they were criminals... just arrested for having stylish hair, clothing, and posters in their keke? https://www.nairaland.com/6162093/kano-sharia-police-shave-mens |
Very good... that's how it starts. Realize our rights, and collectively tell police they are wrong. |
“Armed robbers please fight for us against this SARS people, if you are an armed robber reading this biko fight for us, na only una fit fight these SARS people for us. Arise and fight for your customers.” The person who coined this, your papa ![]() We fear to meet SARS more than armed robbers, I swear.
