First of all the teenage girl is not the husbands niece but the daughter of a village neighbour, they are not related. Then why will you force a struggling couple who is nursing her own baby (and working at the same time) to take care of another person's baby? Where I blamed the couple is not involving the girls family or reporting to relevant authorities that a baby had been abandoned in their care.
The said they reported to the police, but I doubt the police has the facilities to cater for abandoned babies.
Spot on.
Their only saving grace might the report their made to the police DPO.
This system of seeing someone in the village bringing them to Lagos and claiming my brother, my sister even when not related at all has landed them in this wahala.
membranus: Then what killed the baby, we should ask her. And instead of going through this irrational financial actions, why didn't she trace the mother and returned the baby to her, and seek for other means to recover her money from the teenager?
And why seize the fragile baby in the first instance as a collateral for a loan from a teenager? A loan that should have been taken as charity.
Don't justify evil just by hearing from one side only, knowing that the woman is just trying to defend her evil deed. The bad woman surely has a case to answer.
Watch the video, I watched both.
Then you will know the baby was not even used as a collateral or kidnapped or anything related to that. You will also know the baby had been malnourished even before she left the baby with them.
Since you said it's CS are you sure she's not having some sort of mental health challenge,
I have a friend who had a baby via CS and afterwards began to have some mental issues, began saying and doing oriahirishi strange Behaviour, she was on drugs for a long while oo.
Acidosis: A whole lot. No sane human being will take possession of another woman's toddler for 5 months over unpaid debts. This is not about heartlessness, but the fact that it makes no economic sense. What's she going to gain feeding someone else's child with her money??
Maybe she did that initially but it is very obvious that the mother of the child never had any need for the child in the first place. How can a mother even sleep without her baby. This can only be the work of a senseless as.hawo who, at the time, needed to dump her baby somewhere so she can continue her "soft" work. That's their mode of operation.
The media will obviously twist the story due to misguided sympathy. Sad that this woman may never get out of this mess despite her testimony and witnesses. The mother's side of the story is a clear case of kidnap - she easily would have gotten the police's attention if attempts were made.
I doubt the woman and her husband even understand the mess they are in.
This singular incident can change the tragectory of their lives.
Since the mother is claiming kidnap that's what most Nigerians will align with, thankfully they said they have been looking for her with the police involved that might help them a bit.
AutoChick4U: Akamu would have helped. Even adult food would have helped bro.
I am female.
Akamu? maybe but for a 5 month baby, milk (breast or baby food) only is recommended and the baby was younger than 5 months then so it should have been baby milk or breast only.
AutoChick4U: Baba I just saw d picture of d baby and dayuuuuum, e pain me. No baby should b starved like that. You'd make a very poor detective. U dey believe wetin person talk leaving stark evidence.
E no pain you reach me, Baby was starved that's certain but by whom is the issue.
A lady claimed her baby was seized from her and starved and the other side is claiming she starved her baby, abandoned him and they tried to treat him and were looking for the mother with the police.
You have already believe what one side said, like I said watch the video you will have the 2 sides to the story.
There's a lot of factors involved.
Poverty is one, baby food is expensive now, maybe the mother and (or) the guardian couldn't even afford it.
AutoChick4U: Is that enough reason not to feed a baby?
Watch the video, you will understand better
There's even nothing like not feeding the baby in the matter at all. They even treated the baby's 'malnutrition' after he was abandoned according to what they said.
What I can deduce is the baby's sickness has been on ground for a while and it's basically malnutrition, they claimed the mother was not feeding the baby and it turned to a street matter maybe it was only breast the baby can take is what I don't understand.
I think people should watch the video, it's another story entirely.
The couple are claiming they never seized the child instead she abandoned the child for them and they have been looking for her since and had even reported to the police station and they had been spending money on the child's health and she allegedly refused to feed the baby and even yard people had intervened severally.
And the money issue was about how she borrowed from others to finance the delivery and how she should pay back when she has made enough.
How she abandoned the baby for them to do ashawo work in hotel and one madam came to pick her up.
They are even saying people should go to their street and ask that everybody knows about how they have been looking for her to come carry the baby.
There's always a danger of a single sided story.
Police should investigate the side of the couples story which should be very easy since they have neighbors that allegedly intervened in the matter and police had been involved before.
ayomilore: House please help with tips to make Madam more alive to her duties especially as mother to the kids, seems she is too preoccupied with her job. I'm a cool guy, don't really like nagging and complaining frequently.
Thanks.
What does she do? What's the distance to work?
All these are factors, that affect productivity both at home and the home front do you want her to leave her job, lots of people work in jobs that take a lot of their time.
Do you want her to leave the job? Can you handle all the financial needs of the home if she leaves the job? Have you tried taking over some of those duties she does?
Ordinarily I would have just said she's a baby because she's actually one and such drama is not supposed to be significant but children we have nowadays are supersmart unlike our days they should have also told her you don't pack your bags and leave home because of a disagreement or when disciplined so that in 5-6 years when she's older and smarter she won't feel it's an option and the funny part is she will understand when they tell her.
jumpmasta: The law says , you must apply for marriage and your spouse must be interviewed by your Commander at any level to ensure things are right . It’s the military tradition
jumpmasta: You won’t even understand . Is proposal not one of the several steps culminating to marriage ? If she had done that privately , no one will make noise provided she brings her spouse for commander’s interview when she is due for marriage (3years ) . The military is highly regimented for a reason . Imagine one who was deployed to look after and protect Corpers going there to kiss and romance .
Interesting so a prospective spouse of a member of the armed forces will be interviewed before marriage and one can't marry until after 3 years.
joyd200: Pls don't fall into their trap. Try to negotiate to pay lesser, maybe 30k and if they didn't agree just pay the 50k. Nigerian court is useless for case like this. With or without your lawyer they will grant you bail in any amount between 50k to 200k. You'll be reminded until you pay that money. Also, you'll still have to pay that landlady's 50k before the case can be withdrawn against you. Then again, you'll live in fear in the compound afterward, since you have a pending court case with them, which can drag over a year. Pls rush to negotiate with them and pay.
Loool leave him those cheering him here won't be there.
Court case that you can't determine the outcome. The law is an ass
Someone that should have left immediately they told him to leave, you didnt leave you guys had a scuttle and you still opened the well.
You better go and negotiate to pay lesser and let things slide and plan his exit from that compound.
uyimen: Thanks for your view. this is exactly my wife view on the issue. But what am seeking advice for is not saving me from her Aunty, but how saving her from her Aunty. She has accused my wife for taking the shine off her children, ie taking their destiny, what mother will say that? What i dont understand should i allow it simply becos she stayed there of 18yrs. 18yrs of serving her and her children. Dont even want to talk about that. Worst of all my wife relationship wit her biological mum who i term the best mother inlaw ever!!! is near zero, out of fear how the Aunty wont take it.
I love ur contribution but is not the case here.
Haa I have not even seen this when I made my comment.
Carry your family and run oo
This people will not rest until that lady is miserable and one way they will do it is to break that marriage at all cost.
They can go diabolical if desperate enough
Run run run.
All those 'Na only my children go prosper another person canot excel more than them' relatives can go to any length.
DroppingLiquid: If your wife was a wise woman, she would know that it's her they hate and not you. They don't want her to be happy, it doesn't matter which man she marries, whether you or someone else, they want her miserable and they will not stop. She better realize it quickly. You and your wife must cut all contact with them. And if she brings up that 18 years nonsense, you must shut it down immediately.
She’s not the only woman that lives with a family member until they got married.
Thank God somebody sees it.
I have them in my family, we cut them off, all what they are after is the lady's unhappiness, deep down they are not even happy she's married. And people like this aunty have a strong hold on their relatives that live with them.
OP you will have to fight this battle for her, they will not rest till they destroy your marriage.
Uyimen Your wife will always want to please them, it's the fear they have created in her, she will still want to serve them despite the fact she has her own home. The hold her parents don't have on her, her aunty and the children by extension have it on her that's what years of servitude can cause.
I pray her eyes open but since she's still trying to please them, you will have to make strongmoves, move your family from within their reach.
It's not about the man himself it's all about the Lady and whoever she marries , they seem to want her miserable hence all the frustration s during the marriage and the curses.
I can't even understand how shes allowing them to the same home they cursed Nawa.
Negroid001: Ok this is a good one. Depends tho. I like having strong ties with family. The person that mentored me in animation is a stay at home dad. He does most of his work at home, even has a studio and office at home. He rarely goes out except it's a hangout or family outing thingy. This lifestyle is very okay by me.
As for me, already following that path already, setting up my studio bit by bit at home here. Even now, only proposals, meetings, dates with my girlfriend and once in a while collaborations takes me out. I don't know if my wife would want the stay at home thing and it's fine. I always say its also not compulsory for her to work too. Everything na planning.... As for me, except maybe work demand, I'm cool at home. I don't even like going out.
This is different , the man is working from home. Far far different scenerio. A sensible man with this kind of job will be able to spend more time with his family, time supposed to spend in traffic etc.
@topic all of a sudden people are realizing it's unnatural for a man to be a househusbands, but it can be natural for the wife to provide abi.
The hypocrisy on NL ehn, Thank God real life is different from social media.
Chai women mata no dey taya all these romance section boys.
Chochocho women this women that, you people should rest small na.
It's the turn of beautiful women today, one time it was virgins that was their problem on NL, virgin this virgin that, maybe tomorrow it will be church girls.
