Flawless18: I don’t argue and I hardly post on this forum. But what I’m sure of 💯, I can argue it like kilodeee 😂😂😂 Pls visit your uncle in the village to ask questions and see things. Alligator is called áwón/awònrìnwòn/áñtá in Yoruba. Crocodile is called óní in Yoruba.
Even Tigers have a name in Yourba and Tigers are not found naturally occuring in Africa.
telling him to shut up was wrong .for the average Naija man thats a lot to swallow. However, that does not justify the slap and his reaction seems over the top.
its either there are other things you are not telling us, or he is not telling you.
something is off.
Wifey123: I’m a black American, living in Nigeria with my husband, who is Nigerian. Today, we had a misunderstanding. I was trying to explain something that happened with the POS decline when I bought something. I was trying to explain and he was getting angry with me because he felt that I was not explaining well. He kept harping on it even though I repeated the amount at least 3 times. I’d also bought him a meat pie and I was tired of him being mad over me not explaining properly because I couldn’t figure out how I could have been more clear. I said:
“Just shut up and eat the meat pie.”
I immediately regretted that I said something so disrespectful to my husband and I apologized. He threw the meat pie out of the window and started yelling at me while we were in the call. Called me names and who am I, that I would never disrespect him again. That I’m a stupid and useless mother. I apologized again and started to cry. He told me to “Shut the F*** up.” He threatened to punch me and then he slapped me in the face. He said that this is Nigeria, not America and he could “break my head and nothing was going to happen.” He told me “Fu** me a million times. He said that the marriage is over and that I won’t see him again.
We got home he said that this was the third time that I told him to shut up and that this was how it starts. He’s right, I did say it twice before over the past year but in my defense, I said it while he was yelling at me, calling me names and saying that I was useless. I never called him names or raised my voice or had any insults. He admitted that he gets angry and before promised that he will not insult me or tell me “F*** you” again.
He was packing a bag in our room. I apologized profusely and cried and begged him not to leave. I said that I was so sorry and I’d never disrespect him again. He said that I should leave too. He threw two bank cards at me and said that I could use those until I decide to leave our house. I took this as him telling me to go back home to America as I have no where to go here.
I started sobbing then. I followed him to the car and begged him not to leave. That I didn’t want to end our marriage. He told me that he will not tolerate disrespect and that we needed a break. That I talk to him like a child? I don’t know what he’s referring to and he had never said that before. I always do whatever he asks, whenever he asks and I never intended to disrespect him. Then he told me to get out of the car. He drove away.
Now that he’s gone and my face is still sore from being slapped, I’m thinking hard about this. I messed up by being disrespectful. However the anger that he showed was next level. I have never been hit before, he never even threatened to hit me before he even threatened to punch me. This man who loved me just this morning. This man who said he wanted to thank my mother for giving him such an amazing wife. Now essentially acted as if he hates me. Violence is usually progressive. A slap, then a punch, then it goes on from there. I don’t know what to do. Should I go home. My family will tell me to leave. I can’t believe that this happened. I lost my marriage within 15 minutes? Should I leave and go to an Airbnb? What if he turns off the cards? How will I even get cash? I don’t know what to do so I’m asking strangers.
Questions that people will likely have: My husband and I have known each other for 7 years, mostly as friends long distance. Married for under 2 years. This is not an age gap relationship or anything. We are the same age. We never filed for him to come to America or anything and that wasn’t in our plans.
is the BOnsai on the tale real? if so what specie?
HeartlessMan: I was just chilling alone since there's no water in my crib to wash off cum if I invite any olosho over. Next thing the sky became overcast & dark. It was about to rain or so I thought. A strong Southern wind blew my curtains to form this curious sight.
At first I first ignored it but then it blew stronger to that shape again this time with a lightning bolt that I had no choice but to jump up and scream Blood of Jesus! like a newly-commissioned Chosen MOPOL.
I went to tie my curtain like UyaiIncomparabl's destiny this time but the wind untied it like and blew it again to form this image. Then I used all my commando muscles and held my curtains down but again the wind flung me away like a used condom and reformed the shape again.
ahnie: I m addicted to carbonated drinks and it's beginning to sound weird and I can hardly do without taking like 3 a day in every meal I take.
It's like there's a force propelling me to always take carbonated drinks.
Pls how do I get rid of such unhealthy habits?
Na small small I solve this problem in my life, gradual reduction till I could go weeks without. E no easy na discipline. No dey buy keep for house oooooo
Olam09: Good afternoon everyone.. there has been a dead body of a woman caked with dirt lying beside a road on our street what number do i call so they can come pick the body up before it becomes a disaster? Please kindly post the right number here thanks.
Here is the location
118 Olusegun Oshoba Road, after white house b/stop. Lagos state.
Good morning fam, After my resignation on 24-09-2022 which I posted here. Some faulted me for not taking my salary and leave without notice
Yea I felt bad but I served in a very vital department that I had alot of their properties in my care. And the firm is known for taking up cases like this up and declaring you "missing" with your pictures all over their branches.
This can tarnish one's image or even cause my new employer to dismiss me , so I had to do all neccessary documentation
After my resignation The HR asked me to send my IDs, handbooks and other documents to the HQ in the East instead of the one here in Lagos where i stay
I sent it accross to them , after some weeks when I called to know if they recieved it She told me that they got only the handbook and nothing else (I sealed all these together) I stood my ground and was ready to travel for this After two weeks, she admitted that they have seen every of the documents
My new job took my time because I have been on training I never called to ask of my salary, when I in Dec, she assured me that they are working on it
On Monday this week, I was ready to meet the MD because of this issue I called the lady again, she was ranting that i should allow them to work on my benefits and all that , I raised my voice too and told her that I only worked with them for 6 months , i really wonder what benefits she is calculating and I am ready to meet the MD because of this and that she should have it on mind that I am not forfeiting this salary for ANYTHING.
She dropped the call, later the secretary called me to assure me that they are working on it
Yesterday my pension account was credited I have to wait for my salary at the end of this month I will be patient till March , because she once told me that it is after 6 months I should be worried not "disturbing" her everyday
segtech68: I'm in a very serious relationship which will likely lead to marriage before the middle of this year. she's a good lady, very decent, God fearing and has a good Job. We both love each other so there's no point waiting than to marry her. We've talked about it and she loves the idea. Also , i've met her family and her parent treated me kindly.
The issue is, we are both planning to relocate after marriage to any of the western countries, we are both credible financially and i'm very sure we won't get denied but the stories i've heard about women changing after getting abroad makes me want to think twice about the court marriage. I would love to do every other marital right except court marriage.
How do i tell her politely without losing her? please i'll appreciate your advise.
Thank you.
It won't make a difference when you travel abroad. She I u will declare Ur marriage before travelling?
Bayonet40: Good evening nairalanders. Why do Nigerians believe that you must have to cut your baby's hair (especially male babies) immediately they reach 1 year? Is there any theory here? People have been suggesting that I cut my boy's hair when he reaches 1 year which is some days from now, he has much hair which I plan to maintain and keep in a good shape.
It's up to you. Maintenance can become a headache later. It it's your headache.
In a nutshell what he is saying is that with money he can oppress.
Gerrard59: While discussing with some buddies yesterday, we touched on the topic “moving back to Nigeria”. I argued that Nigeria is not safe. Sure, there are places that are pretty “safe”. However, my notion of safety is when other people elsewhere can go about their normal activities without fear. For instance, I don’t consider a place safe if one part of the area keeps suffering repeated attacks from Fulani herdsmen (like Southern Kaduna and Plateau). I don’t have to be the affected party, but others who go about their normal activities should feel safe doing them. The other guy countered that, with money, one could enjoy Nigeria. “Live in Maitama, run Lister generator and live quietly.” Also, you get to be in a place where almost everyone looks like you.
Upon hearing “…with money, one can enjoy Nigeria”, I asked him to list five things/ways one can enjoy Nigeria as long as the person has money. Surprisingly, he could not mention one thing/way. I thought it wise to throw it to the house, especially for those who are anti-Japa or those who have stayed abroad for a long time and currently reside in Nigeria.
As someone with money, what exactly does the person enjoy in Nigeria? What are the differences compared to his/her counterpart in say, Namibia or Canada/UK that also has money? How do you enjoy Nigeria provided the money is available?
P.S. I understand that the notion of “enjoyment” is largely subjective. Some enjoy going to parties, while others enjoy travelling around or even reading a book while in a park. But I believe there are some universal notions of enjoyment.
Marriage is an eye opener and because in marriage the couple are in each others faces full time faults begin to seem amplified and see finish enters. Marriage is not for the immature or the intolerant. It is a true test of character
We are having this kind of attack second time this month and the pattern of the attack is exactly the same.
Due to farm invasion of our livestocks, we only allow them to graze at night and leave them till daybreak while we let them into their cage.
The first victim of this wild attack was Huda ram, he was sick and want missing, after about the third day, we found him with his head ripped off from the neck, likewise the second goat, brought in for mating about 12 days ago, felt sick, recovering, went to graze and the second day we met him this way.
We are currently working on installing perimeter net for the first part of the land we intend to use for livestock, that's about 3 acres, it separates the farm from the remaining land meant for crop plantation.
Which animal do you think is on the prowl? Kindly suggest how to capture or kill this animal.
