CultureRe: Are You A Village Or City Person? by sharpman1(m): 10:14am On Mar 15, 2012
I love the city life.

I doubt if i can stay anywhere in Nigeria outside Lagos.............except it is really tempting, at least for now.

In the village, u'r a village champion, there's no competition, if u'r not careful.......u'll be comfortable with mediocrity.

In the city........lots of challenges, competition, friends that will drive you.

I just simply love Lagos.

I absolutely agree with you. In less than six months, she's got a guy and she is getting married? Na wah for babes o. I had the same experience. Wetin i dey find? i simply wished her well...........

OP,

Why do you want to go? Just forget the two timing babe and move on. Wetin you dey find for the wedding? Do not go.

Why is this professor contradicting himself?

He says:

The system is overloaded with students who want to be admitted and some have to go abroad because they can afford it.

Then also says:

There is no sense in approving licenses for the establishment of more private universities.

I really don't get.

RomanceRe: What Does She Mean? by sharpman1(m): 9:21pm On Mar 01, 2012
You don't seem to get it.

Does she buy your idea of not working? I mean a regular job? You seem to want o impose your opinion and that's a big problem.

You have issues. . .  ego issues.

What you don't understand is that the girl is seriously thinking about the relationship and in case you don't know, there are great guys out there that will help her achieve her dreams if you won't help her.

She may be quiet but she is not silly.

By the way, i did not jump on a moving car. i read your first post, and i have also read other comments.
RomanceRe: What Does She Mean? by sharpman1(m): 8:27pm On Mar 01, 2012
OP,

You are a joke. You think you know your woman so much. . . . . . . .the truth is you don't.

You don't want her to work 9 to 5. Have you bothered to find out what exactly she wants? If she wants to work or run a business? or become a house wife? You want to impose your opinion and you think things will remain the same?

And don't think you are the only guy around her, she might not be cheating but she would have people (guys and girls) talking to her. Your opinion or views are not the only views she is exposed to. She's getting older and she's beginning to discover herself.

And don't think that she can't walk away from the relationship because of the time you have been together or because other people know about the relationship. Ending a relationship and starting a new one is not a big deal at all.

You seem to think you have some sort of advantage over her, i am sorry for you. She's smarter than you think.
PoliticsRe: PAY YOUR TRIBUTE TO SERGENT SUNDAY BADUNG by sharpman1(m): 1:18pm On Feb 17, 2012
Tribute?

I had to decide who killed this man out of the following:

1. Boko Haram
2. The corrupt Nigerian government
3. The corrupt police authorities that did not provide him with the right tools to work
4. The man himself.

My conclusion:

He killed himself. It was very silly of him to try that kind of stunt without considering his own safety. To me, he is not a hero. He is a dumb Nigerian policeman.

I only feel sorry for the wife, children and family he left behind.

CelebritiesRe: 2face Idibia Proposes To Annie Macauley by sharpman1(m): 7:06pm On Feb 15, 2012
It's quite clear the girl sees Tuface as her meal ticket. She probably has a low self worth and believes that without Tuface she's nothing. No wonder the rush to have his baby. A right thinking lady would have dumped his ass a long time ago.

Well, who else would have wanted her with all the stories flying around. She had to choose between the devil (Tuface) and the deep blue see (not getting married at all).

By the way, it is still a proposal. . . . . . .right?

Lets see how the story will end.
PoliticsRe: Cbn Explains Kano Donation by sharpman1(m): 6:58pm On Feb 15, 2012
The attempt to justify Sanusi's action is laughable.

We've had crisis upon crisis and CBN did not raise a finger. The moment it affected Sanusi's town and his own people, he donates N100 million that does not belong to him. He should have donated his own funds if he really cared about his people.

The donation to the Xmas day bomb victims is clearly an after thought because people made noise.

Sanusi is a religious bigot that only cares about his religion. He is not fit to be a CBN governor. He is better off as the Emir of Kano.
PoliticsRe: N1trn Projects Smuggled Into 2012 Budget As Foolish Nigerians Criticize Sanusi by sharpman1(m): 5:30pm On Feb 15, 2012
The OP is a joke.

How can you try to bring together two mutually exclusive events?

I do not understand your point. Are you saying Sanusi did the right thing by donating tax payers fund to his own people?

Why did he not donate his personal funds if he really wanted to help?
CelebritiesRe: 2face Idibia Proposes To Annie Macauley by sharpman1(m): 11:48am On Feb 15, 2012
The whole story is strange.

Well, i don't blame 2face, na the girl i blame.

What of her parents, siblings, family, friends? What are they saying about it? Don't they have an iota of shame?

In my opinion, she's the most stupid girl that has ever lived on this planet.

5 children. . . . . .expecting 1. . . . . from 3 different women? and she waited for 13 years. . . . .for him to propose?

How much money the guy get sef? Does he know how much it takes to train children and raise them up to university level? is he going to keep earning as much in a few years time? I am sure the stupid girl will still want to have her own 3 children.

To her, she don win jackpot abi? I feel so sorry for her.
SportsRe: NSC Facebook Page (Nigerian Sports Commission Press Release) by sharpman1(m): 12:28pm On Feb 01, 2012
This explanation does not make sense.

What does the commission need to pay adverts for? What exactly are they advertizing?

If they need sponsors, they can target potential sponsors without wasting money of facebook adverts. By the way, i have not seen ant NSC advert on facebook or any other media for that matter.

I have over 1000 friends on my fb friends list and i did not pay a dime, 5000 likes is no big deal and there's no need to advertize to achieve that.

This explanation is an after thought.

How come they don't have a functional website. Is facebook meant o replace their website? Even commercial businesses don't pay for facebook and the cost for facebook adverts is minimal.

These guys are just thieves.

FamilyRe: Help! Mine Jobless 18 Years Old Brother Just Bought A Car Worth 5million Naira by sharpman1(m): 10:51am On Oct 28, 2011
Your brother is undoubtedly a yahoo boy.

The Nairaland folks saying you are jealous or justifying what he is doing are also fraudulent as there is no explanation for a jobless 18 year old boy being able to afford a N5 million car.

It is unlikely that you can do anything about him so just keep praying for him.

Since you have mentioned it to your parents, stay back and watch. DO NOT collect a dime from him under any circumstance. Also stay away from him as much as possible so that it will be certain you do not approve of him.

Trust me, 90% of these yahoo boys cannot sustain their lifestyle because 'Maga will not always pay'. When his money finishes (and it surely will), his eyes will open. . . . . . . .i hope he learns before then.

You have done well as an elder brother and you do not need to report him to EFCC.

CareerRe: Airtel Did Not Sack Workers. Their Side Of The Story ! by sharpman1(m): 4:29pm On Oct 17, 2011
In accounting. . . . . . . there is something we call Economic substance & Legal form. We were taught that in dealing with transactions, we should consider the economic substance as against the legal form.

Legally speaking, the call center agents are not the staff of Airtel as they work for the company the call center is outsourced to . . . . . . so technically the are not in any contract with Airtel. . . . . . .

But. . . . . . . the reality is that the outsourced company is owned by people that are connected to Airtel and by default . . . . . . . .Airtel is involved.

We all know that Airtel wants to cut cost . . . . . . . so they want to reduce how much they pay their staff and also make them work longer than they used to. Airtel is only trying to achieve this through the back door.

oluwabamis:
One of the reasons why our society is so filled with unruly youths is because the parents have gone looking for money, daddy and mummy wakes up at 4am to go work, the house-help is left to take care of the kids. the parents comes back by 10pm when the kids are asleep, during weekends prents are out there attending one social function or the other. We still wonder why most kids are wayward. If I earn 500k monthly, i will dedicate at least 20% of it to setting my wife up on some business, so she can be closer to the children. as a matter of fact my wife is resigning soon to run her business.
You've not seen children, raised by full time house wives and even house husbands grin turn out bad?

RomanceRe: She Wants To Hear From God First by sharpman1(m): 9:03am On Jul 27, 2011
pendo89:
Its interesting how all of us having come lashing out at the girl yet all we have is a one sided story.

Nobody is asking why a 21-24 year old fresh graduate is not willing to jump into marriage this early.

I keep asking, why does the poster assume that it is her ultimate goal to marry now?

What happened to career, job etc. Why not let this young girl mature a bit? You want her to be a house wife fully dependant on you?

The line 'waiting on God' is a tactic but what lays in her heart matters most. We do not know and cannot guess!

I even doubt that shes waiting for some rich dude to come along becz the poster says hes got some good money.

What about your personality, character,I mean all the other things that make a man fit for marriage other than age and money?

Its possible to be a very good dating partner but posessing 'husband qualities' is a different thing all together. Her 99th sense could be warning her.

You say you love this gal then please try hard and find out what is holding her back. Suggest giving her time and see her reaction.

I will say again.A good thing or gift at the wrong time could turn out to be your greatest pain.

Marriage is about right time and right reason. If you love someone give them space.[/b]

Note:If you MUST marry now please let her be. And find somebody else that wants to settle quick.
If she is not ready for marriage. . . . the she should simply say so.

It is NOT acceptable to lie to someone you have dated for FOUR YEARS. Using God to lie makes it even worse.

What's wrong with. . . . . i'm sorry, but i need to work on my career. i just need some more time.

WomanRapa:
@SharpMan; Yes every member of her immediate and extended family know me even though I'm not sure of the extent of their knowledge. Four years is not a short time you know. The problem with waiting is that I have waited two years from when we should've started the process and I feel like she's moving the goalpost. If I wait another X months/years, how am I not sure she'll chicken out again? In your opinion, how long more is a reasonable additional amount of time to wait?
OP

That's actually the problem. . . . . . . because only you can determine what time is reasonable. . . . based on your plans.

You need to talk with her. . . . . .ask what the problem REALLY is. Ask her if she's stylishly asking you to go. . . . . . her response might give her away.

But you need to make up ur mind. . . . . . as regards staying or leaving. . . . . . because the longer it takes the more difficult it gets . . . . . . but if you are staying be ready to stay for a long time . . . . and the situation might turn out to be good.
RomanceRe: She Wants To Hear From God First by sharpman1(m): 6:00pm On Jul 26, 2011
OP . . . . . .

You don't need to give her an ultimatum.

Since you said she's in her early twenties. . . . . . i assume u mean 21 or at most 22. She's probably scared of commitment. She thinks she's too young to get married and just trying to buy some time. Her wanting to hear from God is just a polite way of telling you to chill. Did she consult God when she started dating or sleeping with you?

Have you met her parents?. . . not in the sense of a formal introduction. . . . .but do they know she's seeing you?

You need to decide how much longer you can wait because there's a risk of her leaving you. She believes she's got time on her side. I bet if she's above 25 or 26 she won't be saying the stuffs she's saying.

The bottom-line is: She's a child that is not sure what she wants and she does not want to tie herself down. She's probably talking with her friends. . . . . you need to thread with caution but do not give her an ultimatum.
