Foreign Affairs › Re: Tony Blair Describes The US Withdrawal From Afghanistan As "Imbecilic" by efficiencie(m): 11:07am On Aug 22, 2021
Biglittlelois:
The U.S went there because of Bin Laden, they've successfully killed him, what else do you want from them? They should keep fighting a war which the Afghans are not willing to fight for themselves? They lost hundreds of thousands of soldiers, trillions of dollars, let the U.K do same if they think it is that easy.
You can read right? In 18 months they have not lost a single soldier and whilst most agree that a withdrawal from Afghanistan is inevitable but withdrawing the way Biden did is the height of stupidity or outright madness...who pulls out their military before pulling out civilians? Who does that? Only a monumental idiot does that. Biden was so idiotic he was informed by his generals about the possible fall of the Afghan army but he refused to heed their Intel. Now the Taliban has access to the latest weaponry of the US. If in less than 300 days in office Biden can cause this much damage to the US and the world, then we can expect the US to go up in flames by the end of Joe Biden's presidency! Countries like Taiwan and Japan are likely already considering options other than depending on their ally US, why, because an Idiot-in-Chief is in the oval office.

That is how we dive into the marriage issue. So I got his approval to go in between for him. I want to be at his wedding before I Japa. Please only serious-minded people. My friend hates drama a lot.
We can start with hanging out somewhere cool then he is man enough to heat it. He is an Ibo guy so he is bold enough to take this ministry to the permanent side.
Dude fixing criteria like this is what screws up a ton of marriages. You said she must be a "Graduate Working-class, Live in Lagos, From Ibo, Fair in colour( not bleaching) and Strictly for marriage". However, some expired ladies may meet this criteria, some ladies may fulfill this criteria and yet have it mind to have some send-off sex with her last BF, get pregnant and dump the child on your dear dude and worse is that some ladies may fulfill your criteria and turn out to be a literal nightmare. You will be there for your dear friend's wedding but you will most likely not be there when he starts to have depression for breakfast, high-blood pressure for desert, emotional pain for lunch and tears for dinner due to a marriage gone wrong. I believe marriage was started by GOD and only He understands you well enough to decide who will suit you best. Drop all these criteria and follow GOD's lead all the way. You will not regret it.

A man said on this thread that prick cannot be controlled (not me) I called your attention to it because the original owner of statement being a man and part of the logical gender, must be saying something logical abi?

I was being sarcastic but that was entirely lost on you. Pele o!
Yea! "giving you headache" was fun. How did I bring religion into the discourse? Quoting a real personality from an authentic document does not amount to me bringing in religion. Characterizations by gender do not necessarily apply to all members of a gender. The man you quoted is obviously wrong or is probably your puppet typing away at your command...and your use of sarcasm makes me wonder what sarcasm really is!

JONSYN7154:
The rate at which married women cheats these days is so alarming. What's happening?

Two married women were caught cheating few days apart in the same area.
Well because cheating is fun...no amount of satiation can quell the hunger to cheat. The person who is about to cheat will almost always say to himself/herself that "stolen waters are sweet and bread eaten in secret is pleasant"! No amount of threat of retribution, gifts and appeasement will dissuade a cheat. However as soon as the deed is done and the cheat is caught it seems whatever motivation for cheating vanishes in an instant...almost like there is a force dedicated to inspiring people to cheat irrespective of their external circumstances! Cheating is a sin and like all sins is an act inspired by demons and when demons are at work, nothing humans do make any sense! Be not deceived. Some say people cheat because their spouses are poor. That's false. A cheat will ultimately cheat irrespective of the circumstances. Some say people cheat because their partners are not good in bed. That's false. A cheat will jump in bed with a smaller sized man if the bigger sized man is not available. Some say people cheat because their partners are their source of depression. That's false. Even in so called happy marriages men and women still cheat! Cheating is predicated on the fallen nature of man. Cheating is a disease of the soul...and only the regenerated soul that bears the fruit of faithfulness can live above the desire to cheat!

What she doesn't know was her courage was what was pushing me forward, it was just what I needed to forge ahead.

At a time, I too was loosing it but she came with a strong vibes and aura which kept me moving.
She left, but her courage and strength is still there.

My advice to young guys please have money before you venture into a relationship, she might stay but you still need the money to keep it going.

Relationships/marriage are like old cargo trains that uses charcoal to function. You have to be ready to give in something. I don talk my own finish ooo
What happens when you start a relationship as a rich dude only to encounter some difficulties that rendered you penniless? Won't you still suffer the same fate as a poor dude that started a relationship in poverty? At the end of the day the solution is to marry a "Sarah" that can journey with you to an unknown location and yet call you "lord". A virtuous woman that is your match by God will be there by your side through thick and thin until you see the light and end of the tunnel...

Well, If you put it that way, sure! When you have existed under a regime that determines you a subclass citizen in your own country, simply on grounds that you weren’t born with extra meat hanging down between your legs, sure you are bound to be frustrated and oppressed and yearn for freedom from it all. undecided

But it is not right to paint all feminists as women who have been directly oppressed in direct relationships with men and are seeking independence from them in some way. No, feminism is about ceasing to be regarded as subclass citizens and achieving equal rights that are availed the male gender. undecided

I say this because I believe men have the right to be foolish, irresponsible, and downright slowpoke too.
The bolded clearly shows some level of oppression. If ladies were not regarded as "subclass citizens" and have the so called "equal rights" they will have nothing to fight for. Absolutely nothing. Your statement thereby proves my point that the oppression of the women is the basis for feminism. Just as the oppression of men led to the MGTOW movement as well.

Kobojunkie:
While the statement in bold seems logical enough, not all women are dependent on men or care to live that way, and so feminism is not just a pill for only women surrounded by eejits. undecided
Yeah right! "Independent woman" is the catch phrase describing women who have lived under oppression for years and have one way or the other obtained freedom. If a woman was never oppressed she will not seek independence because she would already have it. You don't seek what you already have. I believe that most of the women that claim to be a feminist have been victims of oppression in one way or the other...but when you are surrounded by great thinkers, mentors, teachers, coaches, guardians and leaders as men you will have no trouble submitting to their guidance, leadership and wisdom.

Irresponsible and foolish men are the sole drivers of feminism. These are the men who think having a deek is all it takes to be a man. Ironically it is these same foolish men that these feminists envy. Feminist envy the fact that foolish men do whatever they life whenever they like. Feminists envy the fact that foolish men get to do stupid things and get away with it and would like to enjoy the same privilege. Feminist want to be equal to men who sacrifice family and parenting on the altar of career success. Feminists want to be equal to men whose inordinate desire and ambition for fame, power and wealth have led them down paths that have constituted a threat to themselves, their families, their communities and their nations. Feminists would like to enjoy the transient pleasures that foolish men enjoy!

Feminists have been surrounded by foolish men so much that they have chosen foolishness as a way of life!

Good morning Nairalanders, I created this thread to talk about my experience with the police yesterday, I was coming from Ozoro, Delta State after spending 2 weeks with my girlfriend whom is schooling at Ozoro polytechnic. On my way the police stopped our vehicle "toyoto sienna" so they searched all passengers bag including mine. When it got to my turn he searched my whole bag but found nothing, then he opened the small zip by the side of my bag and saw a black celophine, he opened it and saw some drugs comprising of Panadol extra, ibu profen, a condom, vitamin - C tablets and four Vega - 100 capsules. To my surprise he commanded me to follow him, my mind was completely relaxed because I knew I had nothing implicating in my bag. I followed him and he commanded me to enter into their motor which I did then he called two of his colleagues and told them that I'm with a hard drug, that I'm a rapist, It was then the animal in me came out, I told him that he should not use such words on me again. He now said instead I should be pleading I'm making mouth, I responded by letting them know that Vega-100 is a normal drug that is sold nationwide and it's not banned like tramadol. Then he responded that If I believe it's not harmful that I should swallow the 4 capsules and see what would happen to me, he said if I'm having problems with my manhood why didn't I go for normal roots. I was so speechless and same time furious. Then our driver came that other passengers are in a hurry that It seems he can't wait for me any longer that I should settle the police so we could all leave, he warned me that If they should carry me to their station that I would be paying a lot. He went to talk to the police and came back to me that they said I should bring 15k I pleaded and settled with 10k in which they refused to accept anything lesser than that. I was so furious because I never believed that the country has become this bad, never in my life would I ever believe that a day would come when I would settle police because I'm seen with a normal drug that's sold nationwide without any ban or restrictions on it. This is just so sad, this is my experience with the police yesterday.
Dude some are worse than this...some will sneak stuff into your belongings and frame you right there! Every armed person in Nigeria is a threat to lives and property. As far as I am concerned I cannot tell the difference between armed robbers, kidnappers, ritualist, police, army, customs etc they are all the same.

3. Battle against the fear of death

If you are a Victor in all three battles, then you are successful.

When as a woman your father is a drunkard, your boyfriend is a tout, your uncle is a fraudster, your fiance is a leech that lives of you and your sons loiter the streets with nothing meaningful to do, you will easily be a feminist. Feminism is the pill you give to women surrounded by idiots who call themselves men but when you are surrounded by real men you will have zero incentive to be a feminist.

A real man looks after his own. A real man provides support for his own. A real man is sober. A real man takes responsibility for his actions. A real man empowers everyone around him to best of his capacity. A real man provides leadership. A real man has a impressive following among his family and friends...a real man gets the submission of his wife effortlessly. A real man makes feminism unnecessary!

We can thank the masculine idiots for the rise of feminism!

But getting to the end of the tunnel has been an issue...

All I need now is just words of encouragement and hope from anyone that once experienced depression and made it out... Thanks and God bless.
Our human nature has made us very sensitive to our circumstances...when the times are good we are happy and when it goes south we get depressed! And as long as we have this nature only a change in our circumstances can bring happiness but I can give you a couple of thoughts that linger in my head when I'm feeling depressed and blue.

1. There is someone out there going through worse.
Always realize your are not alone. Suffering, pain and displeasure are common in this world. Even the Bible says "man that is born of a woman is of a few days and full of trouble"

2. There is a purpose for your birth here on earth and that purpose is worth living and fighting far
There is no effect without a cause. Your birth on earth is not an accident rather it is by design. It would
be a tragedy if you exit this world without finding your purpose and living it.

3. if there is a God, then you must give account
If there is an examiner of your life on earth would you like to appear before Him empty with nothing show for the years you spent in the land of the living?

4. There is a time for everything
...a time to cry, a time to laugh, a time to work, a time for leisure...a time to be depressed, a time to be joyous. If you believe this you will keep up the fight knowing that your time to laugh, rest and be happy is coming. But you must realize that what you sow is what your reap. If you want the times of mercy to come for you you must have mercy on others. If you want the times of joy to come for you you must make others joyful.

5. There are benevolent and malevolent forces working for and against you
Always realize that some events will be beyond your comprehension and while some will be in your favor others may be to your destruction. Always recognise the power of these forces to shape your future!

An Afghan woman in Kabul: ‘Now I have to burn everything I achieved’

A university student tells of seeing all around her the ‘fearful faces of women and ugly faces of men who hate women:

Early on Sunday morning I was heading to university for a class when a group of women came running out from the women’s dormitory. I asked what had happened and one of them told me the police were evacuating them because the Taliban had arrived in Kabul, and they will beat women who do not have a burqa.
We all wanted to get home, but we couldn’t use public transport. The drivers would not let us in their cars because they did not want to take responsibility for transporting a woman. It was even worse for the women from the dormitory, who are from outside Kabul and were scared and confused about where they should go.

With the government offices closed down, my sister ran for miles across town to get home. “I shut down the PC that helped to serve my people and community for four years with a lot of pain,” she said. “I left my desk with tearful eyes and said goodbye to my colleagues. I knew it was the last day of my job.”

I have nearly completed two simultaneous degrees from two of the best universities in Afghanistan. I should have graduated in November from the American University of Afghanistan and Kabul University, but this morning everything flashed before my eyes.

Good day nairaland

Today Sunday school in my church our pastor make us to understand what capital offense is, and minor offense.
He said not paying your tithe is a capital offense in the sight of God.
According to him people who commit capital offense are condemn criminals, and after the preaching, his prayer points is for God to forgive us, for not paying our tithe.
My question is, not paying of tithe is it a capital offense in the sight of God.
Aa far as punishment for sin is concerned all sin will be punished and all sin can lead to separation from God. As the LORD declared, if you breach one part of the law you are guilty of breaching all of the law...so a person who tells an unnecessary lie is not different from someone who slaughtered an entire community for fun. Yes both will get different degrees of punishments but both will ultimately be punished and their acts will lead to separation from God. Your tithes are your investment in the church which is the building of the LORD (Matthew 16:18) and how can you be God's child and not invest in His project? If you deal frowardly with God He will with you frowardly, what you reap is what you sow (Psalm 18:26, Galatians 6:7). It is in this light that I perceive not paying tithe as a sin.

Christ is the head of the man and the man is the head of the wife...all three persons are resident in a Christian home. Footing the bills has nothing to do with being the head. The provision of leadership is the key. If the man loses his job it doesn't mean he lost his relationship with Christ. As long as that relationship is intact the woman is under compulsion to submit to her husband even if she is the breadwinner.

Mon Ami, even Christian marriages have broken down to a point where the couples divorced.

5 of the divorced couples I know are all believers and I'm certain they went in, hoping to make it a lifetime adventure.

This is in no way a criticism or pulling down mission of Christianity I am just saying. Christ is perfect and so are his tenets, we his followers just tend to muddle things up all on our own.

Two days ago I stumbled on a Steve Harvey YouTube video where he interviewed a couple who has been married for 82 years (Yes, 82 years) Steve asked them what's their best advice to people about marriage and the wife said;

1. The secret to a happy marriage is being nice to each other (which I agree with)

2. Talk things over.

3. Get a good understanding of what you are doing and where you are going.

This couple had one child (a female) and one grandchild (a female) who accompanied them to Steve's show. But, they stayed married for 82 years, irrespective of the child's gender and number of children involved.

You know in Naija the fact that there was no male child in that marriage and there was only one child alone, would have caused that marriage to disintegrate. Coupled with the nosiness of busy body in-laws. grin

Two love birds become enemies because in this part of the world we have very messed up ideologies about relationships and marriage.

I'm not married but my own idea and definition of marriage is two adults taking good care of each other, doing the good that they can in their world/community. Anything else outside this (like children) is just jara and not the main koko for me.
Given how we now define "Christian", anyone who steps in a church, is spotted with a bible, bears an English name (like Christian Bale who happens to be a satanist) or even dares to sing a Christian song is easily labelled a Christian even if in actual fact the person is a muslim, pagan or satanist...but according to the scriptures the purpose of the church and ministry is conformity to the stature of the fullness of Christ (Ephesians 4:11-13). Anyone who is conformed to the stature of the fullness of Christ bears the fruits of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-24) and anyone who bears those fruits is capable of sustaining a marriage for a lifetime. I mean can you imagine how a couple who both bear the fruits of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, humility and self-control can end up with a divorce? It cannot happen! Many so called pastors, GOs etc lack these fruits and that is why some of them have marriages that hit the rocks...so again I say, if a couple is matched (unified) by the Spirit of GOD and both of them are in Christ (bearing fruits of righteousness) their marriage will be an annex of heaven on earth...and going by this definition we can easily see how couples who don't go to church, carry bibles or believe in GOD can have marriages that last a life time. Paul made us know in Romans 2:14-15 that you may be a Gentile and yet listen to the leading of GOD's Spirit through your conscience and by so doing make decisions in line with the righteousness of GOD. So if such a Gentile or non-Christian decides, knowingly or unknowingly, to heed the voice his conscience and marries the match provided by the Spirit of GOD and also decides to lead a life of love, joy, peace, faithfulness, loyalty, perseverance etc then without visiting a church or carrying a bible such a Gentile or non-Christian will enjoy a blissful marriage!

Modified:
With regards to the bolded, I want to ask; is it that all of the marriage that ended in a divorce involved people who did not care for their spouse? And also do not care for their world or community? If yes, then my question is how come the spouses that were the victims never noticed their partner had such a nature before the start of the marriage? How come the victims never discovered that their partner would never care for their community or the world? How come they never noticed until it was time for a divorce? This still brings me to my axioms for a sustainable marriage. First you two must be a match! I believe as ants cannot mate with elephants so also some humans cannot pair off with some humans. Only the Spirit of GOD has the manual of our very different lives and only HE understands who a better mate is for us. We on our own cannot decide this easily. If the couple you referenced were such that the husband is a passionate traveling missionary and the wife is a passionate actress you can easily see how such a marriage will suffer. On my second axiom which if both of the couples you referenced lack the fruits of the Spirit (caring for and being nice to each other) how would they have sustained an 80+ year old marriage?

The axioms are simple: (1) get matched with your spouse by the Spirit of GOD (2) Lead a life in Christ
Shikena!

good evening nairalanders,

married men and women in the house, what is marriage?

define or explain it by experience.
Marriage is the process of physical, mental and spiritual unification between a man and a woman in Jesus Christ, with the primary goal of mirroring the ideal relationship between Jesus Christ and his church. This does not mean both couples must be Christians. A marriage is in Christ if Christ's Spirit does the match making and both couples decide to adhere to the simple rule: Husbands love your wives. Wives submit to your husbands.

Hello guys,

I stumbled upon this post online and it got me thinking if the husband actually did the right thing or not.

What do you think?

Grant her wish immediately...If she cannot submit totally she cannot submit at all and if I have paid my dues and performed my duties as a husband, then she can return to her fathers house with the pregnancy...perhaps her father will resume the duties of a husband...such a mumucious woman.

If you kill yourself, you die alone and go straight to Hell fire to continue your suffering forever and ever.
Pls repent and turn to God to show you mercy. He will forgive you and grant you mercy for such evil and demonic thoughts. If you're broke and don't have any job, ask the Lord in faith for it and you shall receive it.
Dude is this how you talk to someone Jesus died for? This person needs help and not rant and if you cannot help digest your rant...nobody just decides to have suicidal thoughts. These thoughts come when the forces of life have driven one to the wall and the situation seems helpless and hopeless. Instead of being insensitive and speaking the gate keeper of heaven, soothe this person's pains with kinder words and offer a prayer for the person...this is the least you can do. Anything lower than this may likely count against you!

I graduated with a first class in accounting and finance and finished my nysc 3 years ago, since then i have attended interviews but to no avail, but immeidately i finished nysc i started trading forex while looking for jobs, i also involved myself in my friend's entertainment start up 2 years ago as a web administrator on his website, travelled with him regularly for shoots even without pay, i also learnt digital marketing certified from google to improve my SEO skills, i took alot of courses on how to code and build websites which i do today, i equally write books though i do this passively, am still hopeful i can have a tech start up soon which is far from what i dreamt of when i was studying accounting and finance in school, but where i project the world is going to or still get a job and open it later in the future as clients on web development do not come very often. i just love learning, i applied for a few scholarships over the years but still no reply, God will do it for me.
God will do it for you abi God has already done it for you...you get sense na. You did Accounting and Finance, but as time progressed you evolved and discovered some other stuff hidden on the inside...If you raise your proficiency in web development to the "god-class" you are just one website away from millions! Those I pity are those who are still carrying certificate up and down with no intention of adapting, evolving and leveraging their environment to their advantage...they still need God to do something in their life!
