mufutau55:Hajj, this is doable. Just to be creative at the installation stage. The burglar should be well placed in between the windows walls and not infront of the windows. Finance is just my worry, if not, I would installed those sills using HDF wood. You could still use wood to bring out the sill on the base of the window. |
valencia2012:This is alien to Nigerians and their architect. I said it before that the windows I like are the ones with flower cups and pots. Not a must anyway. There has to be a shoot out base on the window front like what you have there where you could put something decorative or any ornamental. The peculiar situation of our environment makes some of these house aesthetics features impracticable. |
Everybody attacking Tinubu. When he dangles carrot before the same people in 2023, everybody will start singing his praises. Nigerians have a very short memory. |
eburuu:STUPID IDIOT! |
People always under estimate SAT. To get admitted into ivy league schools, nothing less than 1580. Please focus on other things in Nigeria. I know you are demoralised but seek for other means of travelling out. Or better still, channel your resources and money to other productive businesses in Nigeria Those on canada PR will tell you how much they have spent on various IELTS and verification. If you don't have the money, please don't stress it or else you would be depressed |
EgunMogaji2:Baba is well prepared. Honestly, if you are not game with the strong iron bars, all those ones that comes with the windows are rubbish. Even me myself can pull out those empty pipes. May be the burglary is for petty thieves. Hardened and determined armed rubber knows no boundary. I saw where they used plier to clip off and brought down an entire barbed wire mesh on the fence and climbed over and into the compound. But for gun liberalisation, hmmm!! We will be having dead bodies on the road every day. |
Who is bankrolling these hoodlums? |
KolaShangOne:I detest burglary on windows. It takes away the finesse and the beauty of the window area. Just as Egun said, a determined armed robber could easily take down the burglaries. See how beautiful the windows are looking. Install these big burglaries and look at the windows again ![]() I want to see a crystal clear windows with live flower cups or pots rather than looking at a prison-like burglary and thick nets. Our peculiar situation and circumstances in Nigeria is one of the reasons the interior of our homes are not that all eye catching. |
The picture of James Nwafor of the famous Awkuzu SARS should appear 10 times in that report - He should be counted 10 times. ![]() |
EgunMogaji2:You have intelligently answered the "architect". Smart home is not about the physical structure. It is about gadgets and minimal human involvement in its operation. One of my Ogas in PH bought an old house belonging to Rivers state government in Old GRA, PH. The building was a colonial building. He just modified it with smart systems and solar. All doors opens at approach. The landscape and age long trees added fine aesthetics to the build environment. So dear "architect", smart home is not about the look of the structure. Brabus could still explain better what smart home is. |
EgunMogaji2:Mehn, I love this. I love large French windows. It is just money that is the problem. That's why Nigerian landlords will keep given people one tiny thing as window in their rented apartment. Large windows brings out beauty. Nice one - congrats. |
EgunMogaji2:Oga himself. I know say you no go disappoint. Fine crib. Looking at this alone, I am impressed with the design of this interior with the slanting ceiling I love it when living rooms have shapes unlike the usual square or rectangular shapes we see here in Nigeria. You should have left that window opening you made and just fix a non openable window. That way, it is cheaper and you have natural light enter the place. I love windows. Where it becomes expensive, I just put permanent one. That way, you save cost of mosquito net and other window accessories. ![]() I love this your design. Is it a bungalow or a duplex if you don't mind? |
I hope all these are not mere youthful exuberance. I have seen the situation where these things happened and they all thought that they were in love. But when reality sets in after the NYSC, they started blaming themselves for forcing each other on the marriage. One lady even got pregnant and was happy that the guy proposed but when the Nigerian unemployment hit the guy hard, the lady was so remorseful and regretted the whole thing as some of her single mates were pursuing their careers and she was tied down to a marriage where the guy was struggling to support his family. Please ensure that you are gainfully employed or has something in the offing. Marriage is not a child's play. Love will be dragging you but when there is no finances and your mates seems to be progressing, that love simply dies down. Look before you leap. Don't go and act titanic. Nigerian situation hard gan! |
flokii:This is something I have observed overtime. I am happy and comfortable to encounter a Northern SARS or a policeman than his Southern counterpart. And if you are able to communicate with him in Hausa, you are safe and fine. Northern policemen are more cultured and less confrontational than a typical Southern law enforcement agent. Woe be tide you if you encounter an Edo, Delta, Ebonyi, Yoruba or middle belt SARS officer, military or policeman. One of my top Ogas in PH that usually go with retinue of Mopols always made it clear to the Mopol commander that sends boys to him that he doesn't need any officer from Rivers state or any of the southern states. All his escort mopols are typical Aboki policemen with decency, respect and well behaved. |
I saw this coming. I consult for a company that makes use of the INTELS logistics in the ports. The company have not being doing anything since February this year likewise some other companies that operates within the oil and gas free trade zone where INTELS provides logistics and port services. Since INTELS have no clients and companies to service, the fate of their staff are sealed. There is no need attacking INTELS. Sometimes, businesses takes decision to save guard the going concern of the business. So sad that the government of Nigeria could not support to companies which will in turn ensure job retention for their staff. See what is happening in Europe and America where huge palliatives are being doled out for companies since corporate organizations helps to sustain the survival of any state. Nigerian companies are bleeding heavily and the Onne oil and gas free trade zone in PH has turned into a grave yard of failed and collapsed companies. Getting paid for my services is becoming difficult and getting any consultancy for any company at this period is even more difficult. God help us abeg! |
See how police covered his body and the place barricaded immediately. In Nigeria, people would cluster there and be snapping the corpse |
bixton:Lie lie !!! - as years passes by, quality of things continues to go south in Nigeria. The Catholic Church in my village was built in 1949 using this kind of block. The exterior wall of the church looks like what you have there. There are a lot of buildings with that kind of block in Aberdeen and all were not even painted. Built with blocks and windows installed. |
LukasPodolski:The poverty rate in remote villages in Enugu and Ebonyi in SE is terrible. Go to their villages and you will pity the kids that are being born there. |
God have mercy - a lot of people are keeping mentally deranged sons, daughters or even parents and relatives in their homes. Mental illness is a serious illness biko |
I feel sad reading this. If you are a lover of nature and life and watches NATGEO wide, you will hate these people that kills animals for fun. Leave these precious animals in their habitat for God's sake. The domestic animals we have here are enough for us to eat. Why go into the wild and forest to disturb them in their habitat? |
Nigerian youth!! - The unity of purpose in this country is always a mirage!! We can never agree on one purpose and work towards that purpose - Everything will be viewed from the prism of politics, ethnicity and religion. I knew it would come to this from the North. |
Sometimes when I see some of these poor families with kids, I see some potential menace to the society. Some of these criminals are from poor homes, they were not given any proper attention and care by their stupid parents that brought them to this world. Their is just to born. How the child turns out is not their concern. Government should start arresting the parents of these urchins and charge them to court. Govt should also take responsibility as these abandoned and street children will eventually take their revenge on the larger society. |
davodyguy:You will get labour cheaper these days. They are all begging for jobs now. I used the guys from Togo to do the plastering. Dem sabi waste cement sha but I liked the thickness of the plaster. Your build is just the same as mine in shape, design and length except the front pillar. There is no pillar on mine. When my wife first saw my building, she said the thing looks like a hall .Me I no send as I chose the design. It is long as I have additional 2 bedroom duplex attached to the main house. All the best. |
davodyguy:Hmmm, first time seeing a house that looks like mine. Same length on a half plot and same monopitch (shade) roof design. I used about 370bags, 2X30 tones and 1X20 tones all of plastering sand. Labour was 650k all round, including plastering of the decking of ground floor except the living room as I didn't intend putting POP on the ground floor ceiling except the living room. Money no dey bro ![]() Setting up of Scaffolding was about 30k as I already had my bamboo. I did the plastering early January last year and I haven't done anything on the building this year as money no dey. Even the new large windows I bought are yet to be dressed. This year bad gaan ![]() |
I don't understand this issue of couples fighting over custody. If you are a man and you are divorced, please let the woman have custody with certain times allocated to you for visit and bonding with your kids. After all, divorce doesn't stop them from bearing your name. You will see people go to any length including murder to have custody of products of their divorced union. If I happened to be in that shoe, I will agree a peaceful divorce separation, let her be with the kids and I will be given the right to visit and know how they are doing. Simple. It is easier for a woman to bring a child from her former marriage to her new home and look after them than for a man to bring a child to his new marriage. His new wife most likely will maltreat his husband child from another union. |
myBraine:I think people from SE are wise. FG is looking for an opportunity to unleash the Nigerian military on them. Believe me, if they should protest against SARS, IPOB and MASSOB would hijack it. This will give the FG the reason to deploy massive force there. Let them just maintain. As for the North, if Jonathan was the president, they would have joined. But since it is PMB, any protest from Nigerians is a protest against Buhari. |
Awol1:You are just too stupid without knowing. You think she knows who you are? Stupid tribalist. |
I found the comment of her opponent more classy, professional and matured. Must she mention Buhari, Nigeria and God? Please don't argue with me. |
EgunMogaji2:Well captured!! Aesthetics and class can't be bought. The owner should have been advised to simply pick a mono colour than all these colour combinations. |
chukwuibuipob:His relatives or children may be living in Lagos. Mentally challenged people needs support from immediate family and not some frustrated health care workers. Most of them no send you. I saw one guy in my hood, just a casual friend, doing jugging with his Dad that is about sixty something years and he told me that he brought his father to his house in Lagos to care for him as he was having serious rheumatism and waist pain. I felt for them and also happy for the old man to have a Son that is ready to care for him at old age and in sickness. The young man in his mid 30s seems to be doing well also for himself going by his ride and flat where he stays. It is good to have your loved ones around you in times of sickness |
We don't take maintenance and cleanliness serious in this country. Rotten leadership from head to toe School managers in Nigeria are simply the worst. They hardly makes effort to put things in order. Steal, Loot and Embezzle - these are the words the understand. The principal and the management will be collecting PTA and other dues from parents and, yet to put things in order will be a herculean task. |
mrjojo:They will come for your head. Government should not involve in this kind of thing. I will prefer a decent primary schools in rural villages and not the chicken cages we have. Build skill acquisition centers for youths and empower them. Modernize hospitals and inner street roads. They will rather prefer to build hefty fly over with no economic value. Having well tarred roads and inner street roads are more important than having one gigantic bridge or flyover. Government in Nigeria are known for misplaced priorities - I am not impressed. |

Why transport a MAD man from EAST to WEST? Is there no psychiatric hospital in d whole East?
