lol, what do you think happens to kids of women whose breastmilk cannot come out? Or who lost their mothers, or were abandoned at birth? grin
The newborns drink water from day one and they survive
What about the ones that are doing exclusive breastfeeding? Water is not included.

No one has said some children don't survive on formula and water. Not all women breastfeed. It's best for the op to go to a hospital to get info from a doctor.

Really? Do 2weeks old babies drink water or just breastmilk exclusively?

I have never heard that dehydration is the cause.
Family › Re: Can Your Wife Manage Your Home If You Cease To Exist? by ImaIma1(f): 8:40am On Nov 19, 2021

It will be interesting to see the feedback from married men.

One of my colleagues in the profession we belong to (not a work colleague at the office) said before marrying his wife, he studied her to know if she was the sort of woman who could handle things well in his absence. Whether temporary or permanent absence and he felt satisfied she could, it was one of the reasons he married her.

Your question is one of the things I worry about and fear for women who wake up one day, after two children and start insisting they want more with hubby. At the back of my mind I keep thinking........do these women understand that two children will be easier to manage, than three or more if their husbands die today or tomorrow?

Why can't they think of themselves as the 3rd or 4th child they want so badly? Because they will still need to feed, clothe and shelter themselves too, as a parent, if or when hubby dies nah. It's unfortunate that in Naija/Africa, we would rather say things like God forbid, it is not my portion! Than think strategically and plan carefully for these things.

On the other hand, widows tend to be resilient and they seem to do well by their children when hubby passes. Making lots of sacrifices and denying themselves things in the process. But, the suffer head no be here o! That's why I keep saying the fewer the better.
A lot of women take up the responsibility well, especially sacrificing for their children. But having less children always makes things easier generally.

God should keep us till old age. Make one person no just cut short abeg.

Men should be loved and supported. More people should realize that men also need care and attention. They should be checked on to be sure they are fine mentally, physically, etc.

Happy international Men's day to all our men. And special shoutout to the main man wink.

Well, we all make mistakes, don’t be so quick to judge my dear. I don’t know if you’re a virgin or have never fallen over a man stranger or not, in that moment of weakness and you let it take over you, that sinful pleasure beats us all, it happens to the best of us, including myself. I’m not the one to cast a stone on others. But there’s a presence which overcometh that ruthless power, the of lust and that is the presence of Christ in us.
I'm not judging. And that is not a mistake. It is "ojukokoro". I'm talking about the fact that he had no value for his life and wellbeing, just for immediate sex with a stranger that could potentially lead to a number of consequences.

Who meets someone and has sex with her on the road? He wasn't even weary of the kind of girl that accepts such an ùarrangement. No self control whatsoever. He didn't know if she was a spirit. Having her was all.that was on his mind.

Very good point. However I speak about modern marriages.

The last good marriage was 26-35 years ago. From then on women have changed for the worse. Feminism, ego tripping, and wanton carelessness have taken over.

Safe
You sound so amateur and naive, and it's obvious you cannot stand up to your wife. So you come on Nairaland to vent. You cannot refuse the expenses she piles on you or insist that she contributes.

So here you are trying to make your marriage problem a general one. You can't fool us all with that. You can only.fool the regular zombies who concur to anything anti-marriage. The insightful ones know better.

She told me as we have a house. We need CCTV with motion censor, and a burglar alarm. I called 3 companies for quotes.

The fairest quotes was 560k. She said let's take it as it's a good bargain. I stalled on this for one week and she kept telling me its a good bargain let's call them and pay. Keep in mind she was saying let's pay. I told the company we'll go for it and they gave us a date to install. I asked her to send a contribution, and she told me blatantly that she did not budget for that. I payed the 560k.

2 weeks later I heard her on a call to her friend about expenses. She was saying how we are spending so much. She told her friend "we just bought a house, and furnished it, so I am so broke now". One kobo she no contribute oh.

Tell me marriage is not a scam

To be continued.
It.seems you have already shown her from the beginning that you have enough money to go round for both of you. So why should she use her own money?

If your own family cannot visit your house, that is also on you. You have allowed it.

Your situation is peculiar to your marriage because of how you have handled or wink mishandled things.

So...YOUR MARRIAGE IS A SCAM

She say na nairaland answer...

I dont know the kind of family you grew up in, buh in mine, every adult has already be made to understand that actions have consequences....and we're taught that before you make a decision you must reflect on the pros and cons of it..... because last last, when the consequences show up, we will not help you to bear it... We will advice against it and support where possible, but if you still decide to go through with it...then that's on you...

So if she has decided to be a baby daddy for a man, then that's her wahala.... But she shouldn't get angry when she calls anyone ((me specifically)) for diaper money and nobody ((I don't )) pick up undecided
Yes o. The kind of responses we get on this forum. Too many unreal people here.

If a Nigerian woman does even half of this in Nigeria, you people will still turn around to call her, a desperate evening newspaper who wasted her youth and is looking for a man to trap in marriage.

The story teller didn't mind that his wife was 5 years older than him, because relocation to the United States was involved. But, if it was back home in Nigeria we all know how the story will go nah. His relatives and friends will kick against him marrying an older woman and one doing better than him too, for different reasons.

Can you see what I am talking about? The thread hasn't even gone beyond first page and the second person to comment is already dissing Nigerian women.

I saw the other thread but I didn't comment because I was tired. But, three women I know personally who earn better than their husbands, who have been very helpful and supportive to their men, have been left by these men to continuously handle family responsibilities that are originally theirs to handle. They have not behaved like the story teller in this thread.
The guys that keep dissing Nigerian women are not better than them. And they always attract their kind. They can never see the ones that will make their lives better.

On behalf of Nigerian ladies, I dash them to Benin Republic women. grin

I wasn't against EndSars protest all I am saying is reports should be holistic. The govt messed up also the protest degenerated into an unmanageable situation.
As long as the protesters were not armed, the govt had no right and reason to kill them. That is holistic enough.

Not everyone backing up the baby mama idea can even handle it. It seems like a piece of cake till you are into it. The dysfunctional family you formed could crumble on you very soon.

Let everyone just do as they like and sleep in the bed they lay for themselves.

Family › Re: Why U should Allow The Older Child Beat The Younger Child... by ImaIma1(f): 8:31am On Nov 17, 2021
Truvelisback:
At that tender age, 4yrs difference is a enough advantage for the female child to beat the 4yrs old boy. She is just too weak for allowing her 4 yrs old brother to beat her. If i were ur friend, i would be beat the female for been weak. After beating her thorougly(this will make her heart to be hardened to beat her younger brother), i will reset the match btw she and her younger brother again. And i must make sure she beats him mercilessly while i watch them to know whether to hold the fight or not. If she cries, i will do the same method again. Note: This will make her to be strong and able to challenge other kids outside.
Don't you think you will be destroying her rather than helping her? You have to study each child individually and try to nurture them according to their differences.

If she seems weak, putting her in a wrestling match to make her stronger might not be the solution. You can teach her to be bold and stand up for herself in more loving ways, rather than with violence.

I hope your crude methods won't come back to bite you in the butt later.

You did recall how bad the menace of kidnapping and armed robbery was before the setting up of SARS? I know people that have been killed my brother was also a victim of kidnap in 2014 but I don’t know anyone that has been even harassed by SARS let alone killed.
So because you don't know means it didn't happen? I don't know anyone who was a victim either but I won't be sensitive enough to make careless statements.

You don't have to doubt until it happens to you or your family members. Or is that what you are hoping for? For your family member of friend to die in the hand of SARS before you believe it and have empathy?

Veiled threat.

It depends on the kind of wife you marry. If you marry a much younger self-centred woman you will be alone in your old age and she will decide how much of your own wealth you would have access to. It wouldn’t matter how well you treated her.

Your children are your best bet. You have the opportunity to mould them into caring individuals who would have compassion on you when your time on earth approaches an end.
Children that will have their own families that they'll be paying more attention to. Spouse is always the best bet.

"If him wife cook, na him dey go devide food from pot"

It's not mature
Which people? Are the people inside your kitchen? I don't know why we are so mindful about "what people will say".

Please when it's time to eat, tell her not to serve you, that you will serve yourself. When you do this three or four times, she will understand.

Also, rather than give her money to buy the protein, buy it yourself (probably send or go with someone who can buy meat). When you start doing this, she will understand the gravitate the problem.

But then, maybe she's saving part of the food money and building a house for you both cheesy
