It's usually a case of both, from the situations I have seen.

So, there are certain kids who genuinely want to help but lack the means.

There's another set who have the means but are unwilling and too selfish to be bothered with their parents' needs.

Meanwhile, the kids in scenario 1 & 2 may all be siblings, so the parents end up suffering real bad.

It's a heart breaking something.

There has to be some effort from the children no matter how small it is.

Very commendable, peaceful and organized. The only unfortunate thing is that more protesters are gathered on Twitter and social media than on ground..interestingly if those protesting should change those placards to read 'provide better governance, end corruption in govt, end poverty and hunger, end senseless killings' etc they will be rounded up by the police immediately and malhandled, & govt spokespersons will call them unpatriotic elements and agents of crisis/ destabilization planted by the opposition.

Some children can be selfish and self-centered and allow their parents suffer. These days, some people are just looking for means to get rich while they neglect their parents. That why children can sell their family house and leave their mother stranded.

But thank God, it is not general. There are still people who take good care of their parents till the end. My colleague was telling me yesterday about how she and her father had a disagreement over her paying for a surgery for him. He told her to save the money for something else but she insisted on paying till he passed on.

My parents were cared for till they passed on. Just visiting my mum and probably and weaving her hair and gisting with her went a long way. Sometimes we would all pack ourselves there and go and make noise with grandkids running around. Such things make them happy.

People need to be more humane and selfless especially to family. It's true that we did not ask to be born but we need to care for our parents.

Most people including me will always choose mum over dad.

Yes Dad paid my school fees and put most of the food I eat on the table but mum and I have a very strong bond due to her being there for me emotionally and financially.

Most fathers don't have time for all that emotional stuff and that's where the problem is. They think their job as fathers is only to provide for the family leaving the bonding for the mothers.

My mom provided for me and still bonded with me even with her busy schedule so there's not excuse for dad here.

Most times it is because you see what your mum does while most of your dad's sacrifices might be in the background which could when be more than your mum's.

Women are more emotional than men. So they bond better. The make up of a man is different and they are mostly less emotional than women. It takes them extra effort to bond.

But I don't think it means they love their children less. They are just not able to express it like the mothers do.

I believe it should have more enjoyment than endurance. Enjoyment as per you love each and look out for each other.

Endurance may come when you are trying to adapt to and accomodate him/her or when some situations come and try to break you. If it is a healthy relationship, you endure difficult times together.

The marriages with plenty turmoil, beating, or any form of abuse from either party are not the standard. Those are bad examples that try to outshine the good ones.

Abuse as you have pointed out is not only physical. It can be emotional, verbal, etc. Many men are constantly abused by their wives and it would be good if they could take a stand, report it, leave or something.

But many of them probably just endure it and continue to leave in that toxic environment. Just as you said, some men are raised to bottle things up and that doesn't really address the issue.

If we were talking about men, there are also cases of men abandoning their marriages for abuse, infidelity, etc.

A person's true character manifests in marriage. Some people are not really ready to commit to the responsibility that comes with marriage and live their lives to accommodate and love someone else. They just marry for whatever reason and now end up making their spouse's life hell.

My former neighbour that I mentioned was a case that went to court. She endured years of abuse with a controlling man. She was given custody of the children. The husband asked to have the kids for summer holidays. She sent them to his state. He refused to release them to her just to get back at her for leaving.

Although, I know of men who are abused by their wives, but if you are truthful, you will agree that most cases of abuse in marriage is by the husbands.
