/ Wole Soyinka, Patrick Obahiagbon, Chris Okotie and Nigerian lawyers should go and watch the video of the sentencing. That's English language as used by an English judge. He was concise and communicated clearly without silly vocabularies or nonsensical legal jargons to impress or to try to appear more English than himself.
helinues: It's unfair to mock Ikeremadu in his present situation.
Ike acted as a parent. Nobody is above mistake.
I just hope FG, ECOWAS assembly would do something even if to reduce his sentencing
/ You failed to see the bigger picture.
But if someone steals Nokia 3310 in your street, you will join to light him on fire.
UK Court system refused any sort of emotional blackmail in this case. The letters sent in by quasi-prominent Africans were thrown in a dustbin or so it seems.
Oh well. Mr Nwamini betrayed him. He betrayed only one family and a doctor once. But Ekweremadu betrayed millions of Enugu indigenes for 20 years. Who is lesser of the two devils?
If an average Joe is convicted of human organ trafficking, how many of you will stick their necks out for him? The level of useless villains worshipping in Nigeria is very nauseating. He did the crime. Let him do the time.
/ Tinubu found ways to impose his cronies on Lagos while poverty-stricken neanderthals would opine that he is good at breeding leaders. Yeah! Leaders like Fashola his financial henchman who was a local champion that couldn't perform on the national stage. Nigerians truly deserve their leaders.
If Tinubu is sworn in, I hope no APC supporter will ever post his/her account number(s) again on NL in solicitation for financial assistance.
If it's in Nigeria, I'm pretty sure this case would have been forgotten a longtime... Even the letters up and down from Obasanjo and co couldn't save him.
Justice well served I pity the young sick lady she might even commit suicide with all these terrible saga happening around her.
Nigerian government should borrow a leaf from British Government.
Check out my signature shaa
/ Don't forget the naked old women they would have hired to come and wail in protest in front of the court.
/ It makes sense especially considering that INEC had bags of their voters cards discarded in the bush or buried in ditches to prevent them from exercising their civic duties.
This is pampering criminals and blaming/punishing the victims. /
SmartProf: Seems like an after-thought effort by Azman and Max airlines, after they've seen the massive publicity/PR, Airpeace has enjoyed by their massive and thoughtful gesture. Also, who knows what the Northern oligarchs have done to make these airlines wake up so they can avoid banters from Nigerians that they did nothing in the face of their brothers being stranded. Their efforts are appreciated anyways.
If the police personnel are killed easily like this at checkpoints, what exactly are they doing at these spots? I think the allure of N100/N200 has made them relegate security to the background. There has never been a report of policemen arresting these gunmen at checkpoints.
/ People with no integrity always believe that people cannot see through their bullshit. They watched Wike closely and know that he can flip like a switch. Once his term is over in Rivers, he will be relegated like his predecessors and the crowd around him will magically disappear. There is minimal loyalty in Nigerian politics. Whoever pays the piper is the next messiah.
christejames: Some people with their parochial mentality in business sha... 😅
If they are truly good in business, it would have been a perfect opportunity for them to buy all the Nigerian goods at a more cheaper price and then resale same to their fellow Ghanaians that they have been exploiting at exorbitant price... 😅
/
Or the least, find out her supplier and buy at cheap prices too. Hatred prevents people from reasoning well. Once you hear anyone saying "Go back to where you come from", just shake your head and laugh. It is always the losers who make such statements because failure stares them in the face whenever they see successful competitors.
Elizkid: My Fiancé called last night and said she wanted to die. She wouldn’t tell me what the problem was.
I got angry and told her to get off the phone if she couldn’t say what her problem was. She said she’s in trouble and would kill herself.
Her sister broke the news to me morning. I’m so down. I should have calmed her down. I should have been patient and listened to her.
But I was just angry because she didn’t say anything on time. My friend even spoke to her on phone and told her to tell him what the issue was and that she’s causing unrest for everyone. I feel so guilty. I’m down
You didn’t have to take your own life, babe.
I heard it has to do with an issue she has with her family. I need words to calm me down right now. I’ve not been myself.
/ How is it your fault?
She came to the world alone and she left alone. She didn't call you for help. She only called to say "Good bye". You can never save someone who doesn't want to be saved else she would have opened up to you. It would have been worse if you'd married her because you will be definitely behind bars by now from accusations and counter-accusations. /

/ Expatriate: Employee Gateman: Employee Expatriate's wife: (Indirect employee by virtue of marriage)
1. Fire gateman 2. Expatriate and wife will sort themselves out.
Expatriate can sue employer for damages for the heck of it. if it is a big corporation. I live in a highly litigious society. But it may work differently in Nigeria. In this case, a double barrel short gun may come handy.
Flamemignon1: They are not in their "husband's" house, that's just sexist and stupid to say especially in today's generation so let me school you. Cardi B and her hubby are joint owners of their house in Calabasas LA. ASAP and Rihanna aren't married and ASAP actually lives in Rihanna's LA home not the other way around, Beyonce and Jay Z are co-owners of their properties as they both hate gender roles, they both find it irritating and stupid but Africans like you are still stuck in traditional ways that's not working in today's climate
/ What exactly are you schooling me dumbo?
That two adults (male and female) are working together to grow a family? What's that got to do with "I don't need a man" OR "men are scum"?
NotAMan: This marriage is shaking and life-threatening at the same time.
The last employed job I had was in a private firm which I got affected by downsizing.
Pending when I will land a good job, these days, I do house and property agent. I also do menial jobs sometimes just to eck a living. Sometimes it takes long before I seal a deal. The last money I made was just something above 50k which I handed over 80% of the money to her for family upkeep and other expenses. She's pregnant with our first child and misbehave a lot.
And now her mother is sick and she wants to travel and as I don't have the 30k to give to her, only to come back yesterday and saw my boxers burnt in anger. Over 10 boxers? And she's even telling me this is just to warn me against the future and I'm becoming very afraid of her. If I have the money, would I want her not to travel to see her sick mother when i know health issue is a matter of life and death?
Also, she's teaching in a private school and complaining of the school owing salary.
This woman is making me shed tears and becoming afraid of her at the same time. I have never beaten, talk bad or hurt her in anyway and she shouldn't push me.
Now that she has burnt my boxers, who knows what next? I am even afraid of my life.
/ The funny thing is that Beyonce, Cardi B and Rihanna are the role models of "Independent" ladies. But they are in their husbands' houses bearing children and raising their families.
All the employed but poor single ladies in Nigeria will buy into the phantom idea of "Ms Independence" until they clock 30. By then it is too late. Final final they become fringe benefits for pastors or babalawo.
/ It doesn't matter. APC will use the next 8 years blaming the preceding APC government. Their vuvuzuelas will take over the defense. It will be another motion without movement. The excuses have already started trickling in.
Labour Minister Chris Ngige has said that his salary is N942,000 monthly after taxation, adding that he takes no allowance.
Ngige made this revelation when he spoke on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Tuesday night.
He said: “My salary is N942,000 a month, with my PA, gross total after taxation.”
When asked if he is calculating the figure with the allowances accrued to his office, he said: “Which allowances? My feeding, my transport, the salary of one PA, the salary of my gardener, my cook, they are all consolidated and after heavy taxation, they pay me N942,000.”
/ Hidden in this revelation is the fact that his Ministry takes care of his daily and living expenses--convoy, security, gasoline, food, health, insurance, etc. So the salary is mere monthly pocket money for play outside of the kickbacks, bribes and loot. So he is doing a lot better than most people in that salary range.
/ If ARIK's management performed well, AMCON wouldn't have stepped in. The blame is on ARIK. Afterall AMCON is not an Airline Management company. They are doing their best to recover debts.
But the courses are the products they are selling which you bought. Do you think they became rich by showing others how to be rich? The game is on you.
If he can get 100 people to subscribe for N50k each, that's a cool N5m. Who are the suckers then?
Nigerians are one of the most educated in the world but it is not reflected in the society because education for a Nigerian is for the title not the knowledge.
aktolly54: If you are building 2 storey building, mould your block yourself. Don't rely on those people who are after their own profit and mould nonsense out there
/ Blocks are not the primary load-bearers.
That's the job of beams and pillars.
Not letting concrete cure well could be a contributing factor. Or using wrong concrete mix ratio (mixing 1 bag of cement with 40 headpans of sand and 60 headpans of stone ) which results in lower psi.
EFCC arrest students on "suspicion" of criminal activities. They chase down youths in cars for suspected criminal activities but require petitions and orders from a judge before arresting high profile criminals. And in some cases claim the petitions are not strong enough to act. Bunch of clowns.
