Good evening nairalanders. Please I need advice/opinions on this issue at hand.
I have been taking care of my mother since before I got married, I have other brothers older and younger but they are not financially buoyant. (So they claimed) I did not mind this but kept on caring for her ( house rent, feeding, other bills). Although it's a burden to me, but she is my mother. Now my wife suggest that any money I want to give to her should pass through her (I will send to my wife then she sends to my mother) or she does the sending and I later pay her back. Her claim is my mother is fetish with my money. I'm confused can this be true? Sometimes my mother will make simple money request my wife would say I should ignore her. She says she is taking me for a fool. I am beginning to get tired of this whole thing. Please help with advice or opinions.

If your wife can not prove her claim on your own mother that she is using your money for fetish things, then it's time to watch her to know if she hates your mother or she just want her to be deprived of such care

Don't follow her advice yet, pls keep sending money to her and if you think your wife and mum are having cold war, try to settle them

You did not! I just lost my grand aunt's wife late last week after a brief illness.

Who is my grand aunt? My mother's father's sister (my maternal grandfather's sister). She got married and lived for several years without a child before her husband died.

Being a traditionist, she got married to a girl that conceived out of wedlock as obtainable in those days.

The woman bore her three children, two boys and a girl. She lost one of the boys leaving her with a boy and a girl.

Some years later, the girl conceived out of wedlock and gave birth to a boy. Before we know it, she conceived again and again until she had three sons out of wedlock without pointing any man as the father of those children. She later lost one of the boys leaving her with two children.

This girl abandoned these two children for my grandaunt and her mother (my grandaunt's wife) and ran away from home.

Nobody saw her nor heard anything about her for several years. Then all of a sudden, this woman surfaced with four additional children, three girls and one boy, Making it a total of six surviving children without a single father figure.

We thought she has retired from prostitution and has come home to train her children but we were wrong.

This lady lady abandoned these children again and disappeared. The youngest of them was just two years old.

My grandaunt and her wife started taking care of these children until my grandaunt died about five years ago. She was over 100 years old before her death.

We just got the news that the wife who's taking care of her grand children just passed away last week.

Now, those children don't have anywhere to go. No father's side since my grandaunt's other family members never want them because they deprived them the chance to inherit her late husband's lands.

Their mother is nowhere to be found.

My family people are saying those guys are not related to them by blood (something I found offensive because if they were adopted, that doesn't make them less the children and grandchildren of my late aunt).

Only God knows what will become of those children now.

The eldest son should be around 25 years, and you know how difficult things are for people with their both parents supporting them how much more someone that lacks both. The guy is just trying to survive, likewise his immediate younger brother (those first two their mother gave birth to).

The eldest sister should be around 19. The second daughter that is 17 is already having suitors coming for her hand in marriage.

People were of the opinion that she should marry before she follows the path of her mother and grandmother.

I thought they said that the love a mother has for her child(ren) is the greatest after agape love. How then will a woman be giving birth to children and abandoning them anyhow without care.

It's been over 8 years she dumped those children without ever reaching out to them to know if and how they are surviving. Does prostitution kill the compassionate side of a lady?

Okay, the reason now for posting here is, that of course we want to live together - for me it will not matter where, may it be here in Germany or in Nigeria. My question is, because now my new stepchildren shall have the same legal status than my other three grown up biological daughters.
While I'm aware, that I never can replace the father my stepchildren lost, but I'll do my best and I'll make absolutely no difference between my biological kids and my stepchildren, so my wify and I decided to go for the adoption.
I've researched about the adoption process, but the results I could get didn't fit our case.
Does anyone know what requirements we need to fulfill for the adoption.

In case the German authorities are still so fuzzy and will raise obstacle after obstacles for my family to come to Germany, I'd like to move to Nigeria for good. Now I've been reading, that a Nigerian male who is married to an alien female can give the Nigerian citizenship to his wife.
But a Nigerian female married to an alien male is not able to do so ......hm, on the other hand, in the Nigerian Constitutions I've found that discrimination because of gender, religion ...etc is against the law. That confuses me a lot.
Can anyone help and give us some information?

This is in regards to my in-laws Children. Their mother passed away couple of years ago. Their father allowed them to stay with their mother's sister for two years before their father came to take them.

Financially he cannot take care of them. One of the children stopped school. He is unable to pay the fees the other children need to pay at school. He threatens them from getting in touch with their mother's family members.

When they were with their mother's sister, their father was supposed to be sending feeding money. After three months, it stopped. We pay school fees, buy clothes, give feeding money.

Now he has taken then, the children are scared. He threatens them from talking to their mother's family members. One child stopped school. I strongly believe the others will stop if we do not intervene to help pay school fees because right from primary school, he finds it difficult to pay for school fees. Hello everyone. I've been having this thought for a while now.

I've always been seen as a small boy for the better part of my whole life. Even people younger than me think I'm I'm their mates, or they're even older.

I'm also the type that is timid to a fault, which makes the job even easier for them to disrespect me.

This matron in the hospital I work just called me "my son" openly where people were, while she was trying to give me some advice. I took it in my strides so as not to appear disrespectful, but I believe this type of behavior can make others easily disrespect me later on.

I even told her my age during the discussion that I'm 34years of age, thinking that would probably let her soft pedal her tone, but she still kept referring to her useless "motherly advice".

I lost my mum 2 weeks ago . We were very close and shared a strong bond. For over 2 years I've been away from home, she has called every single day.
Before she passed on, she kept begging me to come see her. I kept postponing until I finally did in January this year. She was happy I came home and even prayed for me(something she hasn't done before). I returned back to base. Two weeks later she passed on.

It was a men's arrangement cause, I was surprised how they all came to that agreement.

He later apologised, after the much argument, I started parking my things to come back to out state, I told him I am done with the relationship, he started laughing at me and started shouting at the top of his voice “ babe you must be crazy, you are definitely out of your mind, how on earth must you think you can leave the relationship that I summoned up so much courage to ask you out?
