Thank you for saying it as it is. Southerners and Middle Beltans are not united. Fulanis know this and are gradually encroaching territories all the way to the south. I've said numerous times on this forum that Nigeria will never move forward until southerners and people from the middle belt put their differences aside and work together as a unit to stop these people. This is only a preview of what's to come. JooEeL: |
It's so funny how people are mocking the suitor in question for still living in a family house at the age of 30. Yusuf Buhari was living with his parents when he got married to a princess yet nobody said pim. Malami's son didn't have any job when he got married. Prince Harry of the UK was jobless and living in his family house when he got married. His wife even settled with him in the palace before she opened her eyes. The nephew of the Prince of Monaco doesn't have a job but is married to the daughter from a prominent Colombian family. If the suitor was from a wealthy home, nobody would question his ambition in life. I am not supporting the guy but I am seeing this from another perspective. |
Bros, I am not talking about alpha male or being a SIMP. I am looking at this simply from a social class perspective. All I am saying is that most broke Nigerian women believe that they don't have to bring anything to the table and expect a rich man to love them just the way they are. Of course Chikwendu is unemployed. If she had the resources to take care of her children, she would not be in this position. I actually don't have symphathy for her as she got herself into this mess. Zonefree: |
Femi Fani Kayode's custody battle with his estranged wife Precious is all over the news. Precious has been denied visitation rights to see her children. There are online petitions to help her. The real issue is this. FFK has money, power and influence to decide whether Precious sees her sons or not. Precious on the other hand is a nobody. She has no influence or connections. This may sound harsh but it is the reality on ground. Who knew Precious before FFK wooed her? This is a bitter lesson to women who continue to broke shame poor guys/hustling guys. You want a man that is rich, established and powerful. Can you deal with his ego? There's nothing wrong with wanting a comfortable partner. It is part of nature. The problem is wanting a rich partner when you yourself have nothing to offer. A lady in this very forum actually said that women don't have to bring anything to the table as they are 'help mates'. I'm sure that's what Precious herself thought when she was dating FFK. A lot of these men from rich homes don't respect you if you have nothing to offer. To them, you are just a trophy/arm candy to impress their friends. If you misbehave, they will remind you of your class and how they polished you to their tastes. Can you handle that? If Precious has done her research and was not so materialistic, she would have known that FFK's first and second marriages crashed because of his character. The women he was previously married to were from his class but left him when they couldn't deal with his narcissitic behaviour. As they were from the same class as FFK, they could afford to take care of their children and retain custody of them. Precious is not in the same position. Also look at what happened to Caroline Danjuma. Her ex-husband had no respect for her and threw her out when he got bored of her. Mind you, Musa Danjuma's only achievement is being the brother of General Danjuma. Now contrast that to that of his nephew who is married to Agbani Darego. Agbani came to the marriage as an independent woman who can finance her own lifestyle. Why won't Ismaila Danjuma respect her? Nigerian women need to change their ways before it's too late. |
Nothing else to be said. OP should have processed his son's Nigerian Passport while he was waiting for the lad's British passport to come through. The child is a dual citizen and is entitled to hold two passports. Use the British passport to fly out of Nigeria and Nigerian passport to visit or come back to Nigeria. In this day and age, one should never limit his/her options. frozen70: |
Bros, women all over the world prefer a man with a flat stomach compared to a fat man. Let's not make excuses for chubby people except they have a genetic disorder that prevents them from losing weight. Nigerian women don't really care about your physique as long as you can afford to take care of them. TheABOMINATION: |
This chap made a mistake. He should have done the ICAN exams and qualify as an accountant instead of doing his masters and P.H.D. As a certified Accountant, he could work in any industry as accountants are still needed. After he secured a job, he could then proceed to further his education while working which would have increased his portfolio. This is why it is important to have a career advice bureau in every institution across the country. In the UK, there is a career advice bureau in every campus in the country. You have mentors who would give you advice on life after university. Not every body is sure of what they want to do once they graduate. That's why having a mentor is very important. A mentor ,who has experience, would be able to guide you towards your career objective. As for the people moaning about PHD holders doing low income jobs, even in the west, PHD holders are doing low income jobs such as working for MC Donalds, Supermarkets, Cinemas etc. Job scarcity is everywhere and most employers in the west are looking for people with experience not multiple degrees that make them overqualified. Employers have a business to run. |
This thread makes me laugh. Yes, traditionally, men are the providers while women are the helpers. However, in this modern times, that ideology is not sustainable. What if, God forbid, the man dies. What would you do? How will you take care of the family? What if the man is incapacitated? What will you do? What if the man is sacked/ his business, God forbid again, collapses? What will you do? Also, that ideology doesn't apply to every culture. In India, it is the woman's family that pays for the wedding expenses and other things concerning the marriage. You should be aware that in the Northern part of this country, a poor woman cannot get married to a rich man's son. This applies to most rich families across the globe. So your statement that women are not meant to bring anything to the table is false. If I am lying, try and step to Osinbanjo's son or the son of an elite in this country and see the response you will get ![]() A lot of women have this delusional belief that all it takes to get a high value man is their looks and homely attitude. It doesn't work like that in the real world. High value men are seeking assets not liabilities. This is why so many men prefer to be single and have baby mamas. No one wants to die of high blood pressure in the name of being the "provider". |
I laugh at any one who believes the likes of Jackie Chan, Bill Gates and other motivational speakers. Their children will have something. These men aren't fools. Even their names alone open doors for their children. Also bear in mind that these people live in developed societies with well structured social services. Rich people in developing countries cannot do that as there is no structure in place to help them. Let me tell you this. Generational wealth is pivotal to the success of most "advanced societies". In America, there's a huge racial disparity between whites and people of colour (especially blacks) because of generational wealth. The white middle class have access to quality education and job because of generational wealth (also due to racism). The upper class and middle class of most societies are formed from years of successful family planning. Most of the billionaires you see today came from old money. Even Bill Gates father was a wealthy lawyer. Warren Buffet's father was a wealthy stockbroker. The former U.S. President came from wealth. The richest man in Nigeria comes from old money and would not be where he is today if not for the loan he obtained from his uncle. Giving your children quality education is not enough. There are too many graduates roaming about the streets. In a country where getting a job is about connections, generational wealth has never been more important. |
You people want to know the real catalyst behind the high rate of ritual killing in Nigeria? Poverty of the mind. Materialism. 'Get rich syndrome". The majority of Nigerians are guilty of it. When you have young people in this forum saying "School na scam. Money is the goal" what do you think was going to happen? When in the romance section you have men saying: "forget looks, character or physique. Money na the fine bobo", what do you think was going to happen? When in the travel section of this forum you people saying: "forget traveling abroad, make money and become a King/Queen in your own country", what did you think was going to happen? In the career section, "stop looking for a job, be your own boss ( with no financial support)", what did you think was going to happen? All the average Nigerian cares about is to make money at any cost. As long as they are comfortable, everybody else can go to hell. You worship men like Ned Nwoko, who uses his money to oppress young men by marrying women he knows he couldn't get when he was their age. All those old Egbons (Obj, IBB, Atiku) who have ruled this country since independence and are sleeping with women young enough to be their granddaughters while oppressing young boys, what did you think would happen as a result of that? Captains of Industry, SANS, businessmen are mercilessly pillaging young ladies while their boyfriends/brothers are being used as errand boys . Continue to be short-sighted instead of praying for the wisdom of foresight and long-term planning. This is just the beginning. |
The MOD who failed to censor the deceased picture is a bastard. This forum is now bottom feeder and the owner doesn't care. No wonder tribalism is so rampant on this forum. |
OP, as a practising lawyer, i will advice you to choose skills over legal qualification. Thousands of law graduates are turned out annually from universities and the Law School. A lot of those graduates are unemployed due to over-saturation of the job market. As some people in this thread have pointed out, you need to be very smart in order to succeed in the legal profession. Your social skills must be top notch because you have to do a lot of networking in order to get clients. Not only that, you need to socialize with those rich kids in school in order to get a job. The Legal Profession in this country is not what you know but who you know. Do you come from a legal background? Most of these "senior lawyers" as you see so come from privileged backgrounds. Their parents were either Judges, SANS or ran their own law firms. This is an open secret that no one wants to talk about. Most of these "firms" pay lawyers peanuts. They will tell you that they are giving you "experience". The big firms that pay decent wages (Templars, G. Elias & Co), you have to work like a slave in order to earn that salary. Your best bet is combining both. Use your skills to make money while developing yourself through legal education. |
Don't mind the joker! He and the 500 clowns who liked his post don't understand how immigration works. Having a Nigerian passport without is visa is pointless. As long as you only possess a Nigerian passport, you need a visa to travel everywhere with the exception of other countries in West Africa. There are thousands if not millions of Nigerians with a passport but have never even crossed the seme border to Benin. Right now, many countries are denying visas to Nigerians. If he had, say, a South African passport, one could understand. The level of ignorant people in this forum is astonishing. shevchenko: |
I have no symphathy for you. When we tell you lots to marry a working class woman, you go about saying that "educated working class women are too proud, feminist and not submissive". Well there you go. What was this slay queen doing before you met? If this woman had passed through the four walls of university with her own sweat, she would not be lazing about. She would be trying to better herself even as a housewife. It's obvious that you wifed up a pretty girl with an empty brain. Secondly, can you not take the dish and put it in the sink by yourself? This will not make you a simp. Forget what the so-called "alpha males/red pillars" say. By doing that, she will be forced to respect you and step her game up. If you want these women to fall in line, you need to act like you don't need them by being self-sufficient. Thirdly, it was a risky move investing a huge sum of money (N900k) into a business that she's not interested in. You should have sat her down and come up with a proposed business plan. It would shown that you are serious and frugile when it comes to money. By spending the aforementioned amount, you have given her the impression that you are rich and generous. This means that you are easy to manipulate. Fourthly, the issue with the remote is something that ought to have been discussed before marriage. A lot of marriages have suffered because of something as vain as who uses the TV. You should have made it clear that when it's time for you to watch what you like, there should be no compliants as you pay the bills. Lastly, since she is pregnant, you have to be patient. Once she has delivered, you have to take control of your home and make her responsible. You cannot afford a liability in this day and age. |
OP, you should be going to church and do thanksgiving before God. That woman is a liability. Any woman who refuses to contribute financially to the upkeep of the family is a liability and should be avoided. The days of a man being the sole financial provider for the family is long gone. It is not applicable in this Buhari era where two heads are better than one. All these women complaining about the woman not having money to do her hair and maintain herself. What about the man? Won't he take care of himself as well? If he pays for all the family expenses, what's left for him? Abi, his own self-care doesn't matter? This is why Nigerian women struggle to get a man abroad. No one has time for that mentality. |
This is simple sturves: Men who intend to sponsor a girl they like to university want to secure their future with her by giving her a child so she will think twice before she dumps them for a "more educated" person. Another reason is to test the 'fertility' of the woman to avoid stories that touch. Also, men want to ensure that they are not fathering another man's child. So sharp guys are now rubber stamping their DNA into the woman before marriage so that there's no doubt who the father is. Not the one where a woman insists "no sex till marriage" and you end up having a bastard as a result of madam having an away match. I'm not saying that this is good practice but these are the times we live in. |
You get it mate. Ikoyi Club isn't for any Tom, Dick & Harry. If you cannot ascertain the source of your wealth, they will never allow you to become a member. It is a Gentleman's club not a club of touts & prostitutes. Most of these "celebrities" , especially actresses, cannot be members because their source of wealth is suspicious. The same thing with Ikoyi & Apapa Boat club. You cannot be a member unless your source of funds is verifiable. IbileIfe: |
The only thing that will make them revolt in their thousands in 2023 is when the suffering becomes too much and the "bandits" have completely taken over their states. truthsayer009: |
Abi, they are reaping the rewards for their misdeeds. This is what happens when you blindly support someone based on ethnicity and religion as opposed to track record. The sad thing is that they would still vote for him in 2023 if he decides to contest again. They aren't ready. truthsayer009: |
They should stop disturbing us with this fake protest. When we asked them to join the EndSars protest last year, they said that the protest was "anti-North" and that us southerners were plotting to overthrow their darling Bubu. They should enjoy their "change". Their supporters here even argued that the protesters should be shot. They reelected that mannaquin in 2019 with a huge majority despite his incompetence in his first term and are now complaining about Bandits killing them off? Hogwash. They now want the very southerners that they mocked to support them? It will not be better for any southerner that supports their protest. Let them enjoy their darling daddy. Sai Baba!! |
Ned Nwoko is a clown. He's writing all these epistle because Laila is giving him a dose of his own medicine. Did he think that she will be happy with all the attention Regina is getting? People are saying that she knew what she was signing up for. Well, they were married for a decade and she just turned 30. This means that she was only 20 when they got married. I'm not defending her behaviour but Ned himself ought to have known that a foreigner will not take rubbish like Nigerian women. If things go south in the relationship, they can always go back to their country. Not the same for Nigerian women. Some clown was talking about him invoking juju on her in case she cheats. That nonsense doesn't work on foreign women. All the niggaz here slut shaming her needs to ask themselves a simple question: what do Laila and Ned have in common? Look at the age gap, culture, religion and race. Of course it was about the money. You cannot buy the love of a foreign chick like that. Marriages with foreign chicks only work if the age gap isn't too big and both of you met each other while residing overseas. Let this be a lesson to clowns who believe that all you need to tame a woman is money. |
What's so special about female doctors? Aren't they human beings like you? As a man, as long as you have something going for you, you should be able to step to any woman you fancy. The worst thing she will say to you is no. I swear down, the level of inferiority complex and low-self esteem in this country is amazing, That's how some dumb simps committed suicide simply because their girlfriends cheated on them or dumped them. I honestly believe that poverty of the mind, lack of exposure and the hardship of the country has made people hype things that are not a big deal in a functioning society. That's how people in this country oppress each over petty s**t such as 'Island v Mainland', 'University v Polytechnic', 'Federal Universities v Private Universities', '1st Class v 3rd Class', 'Foreign degree v Local degree'. The elites have really pauperized the mind of the masses. |
No doubt. There are quite a few Nigerians who are making their money there. However, they have the right "skill set" that is needed there. Those guys did their research before moving to that country. Most Nigerians don't do their research. They just hop on the plane and assume that everything will sort itself out. Nigerians who are into gold and jewelry are cashing out big time. What I have noticed is that if you have a western passport or work experience from a western country, they will respect you more than if you came directly from Nigeria. Kog45: |
Let me add my two cents to this matter. I've been to UAE a few times. The country is more like the Las Vegas of the Middle East. It was designed to attract tourists. It wasn't designed to attract immigrants. The people who really enjoy UAE are expatriates from the so-called '1st world' countries (whites). It's not for people from developing countries. Hence why you see Indians, Pakistanis, Egyptians, Phillipinos and other 'immigrants' living in slums. The expatriates already have secured jobs before they arrive in the country. They spend their foreign earnings in the country. This piece of information is very important. Many people won't tell you this. They don't respect people from developing countries. Unless you have a secured well paying job in UAE, don't bother going there to work. It's even better to set up a business in another african country. |
You have a point. Not all career women are what they seem. truthsayer009: |
I am not talking about those clowns. The "high class" women I am talking about are career women/daughters of rich moguls. The Indimi girls, Ibru girls, Igbinedion girls or career women like Mo Abudu or even Agbani Darego. Mercy and co are only high class because of their celebrity status. No hard working man who suffered for his money would touch those women with a ten inch pole knowing their lifestyle. truthsayer009: |
That's the problem. Having lived abroad for a while, I had this belief that once you have been through the western system your thinking faculty would be different. Now I realize that a lot of Nigerians abroad are no different from their counterparts at home. A lot of them only see Nigeria as a means to cash out. Many of our leaders have either studied abroad or travelled abroad on numerous occasions but they refuse to replacate what they see back home due to greed/selfishness. We have a societal problem that needs answers. Promismike: |
Of course. She's nothing but an Escort. Regardless of his nationality, you and I know that a lot of our countrymen would do the same as they share the same mentality as the man in question. My own is, if he is that rich, why can't he step up to high class women? He doesn't have any game with all his money. truthsayer009: |
This lad has proven what I have said many times that Nigerian men are SIMPS who believe that money is the only way to get a woman. You chat to a stranger you don't know, pay for her flight ticket and accommodation and expect her to sleep with you like that? You didn't try to get to know her. You didn't wine and dine her in Nigeria. I mean, who does that? What about your siblings, friends, parents? Have you ever offered to take any of them abroad? For the clowns defending him by saying that it's his money, if he worked HARD for that money, he wouldn't have done what he did. The SIMP is the biggest loser not the girl. The MAGA took a girl who most likely never even had a National Passport out of the country and it's now stamped on her passport. She can use that for future purposes while the baga will not be able to recoup the money he spent on her (sexually/financially). Just look at her! She's not even average looking with a bulging belly! A man with commonsense would have used that trip to find local girls over there to satisfy their sexual needs. I like what happened to him. Serves him and other low esteemed men who believe that money is all they need to woo a woman. ![]() |
Bloody ridiculous question. Which is more important: a roof over your head or a potential liability? This is a no brainer question. |
Lol, most Nairalanders don't know what they want when it comes to relationships/marriage. Today it's "team foreign girls", tomorrow it's "team Nigeria girls". One day it's "team rich girls", the next day it's "team poor/urgent 2k girls". I actually don't blame Nigerian women for their irrational sense of entitlement. It's Nigerian men that caused this sh*t. They don't know what they want. If you tell a fellow guy to have standards, he will tell you that love is more important than standards. Contrast that with Nigerian women who support their fellow women when they say that they cannot lower their standards for any man even though they themselves cannot boast of N10k in their bank account. You will have the so-called "alpha males" here who will tell you to make money and dictate the relationship/marriage with said money. When women cheat on them despite all their money, they will come here and wail that all women are leeches. Bros, when you seduced her with your money, what did you think was going to happen?? Abeg, we men need to be honest with ourselves. |
This is the blunt truth. The first thing a woman in this country observes about a man is whether he has a ride or not. Having a ride to them is proof of affluence. If you like, have a house in Ikoyi, that's not the first thing that they will notice about you if they don't know you. In Europe, it's different. AlhajiBitcoin: |
