That "madness" as you call it, is the reason why they were able to colonize a quarter of the world. There is nothing more dangerous than a determined white man (especially English men). They can go anywhere for "exploration" regardless of the risks. Forget all these Jihadist. Those ones only have mouth. White people are willing to go to any length in the name of "exploration" including traveling to space and entering the depths of the ocean. Also, the young lad also has a passport that offers him consular protection in any part of the world. He knows that the British Government will at least try to negotiate on his behalf. Let a Nigerian citizen (regardless of wealth) who has never benefitted from the Government try this nonsense. akezn: |
Nigerians love poverty. In fact, they flirt with it. In a country where there's no adequate social welfare scheme (trader money is a scam), why would any rational person do that to himself/herself? In a country where plantain is now an expensive commodity, why would any sane man who cannot even feed himself property add to his suffering? Don't you want better for yourself?? Look at the cost of rent, food, transportation and cloths. While I agree that not everyone will become rich, you should at least be comfortable before you decide to take on responsibilities. There are many married men who are thousands of Naira in debt borrowing money from friends and family in order to provide for their own family. Do you know how many unemployed youths are roaming the streets with no support system? You are now telling them that marriage can solve their poverty? Africans man....you lots are so archaic in thinking. |
You are not serious lol. As a previous poster stated, you should be comparing yourself to your mates who have set up companies/doing great things. Not comparing yourself to people who are married. Do you know what your "mates" are passing through in their marriage? They will not tell you. Marriage is not an achievement. The average Nigerian glorifies mindless procreation over innovation and creativity. There's more to life than having a family. Find your purpose in life first. Ask yourself what you are good at. What skills do you possess? When you have solved this riddle, everything, including women and children, will come to you in good time. |
This thread has proven once and for all that most people people on this forum are tribalistic illiterates. I am not igbo but if she actually said that her mum told her that she's igbo why doubt it? All black diasporians are descended from Africa. Most of the descendants of slaves were taken from present day Nigeria, Ghana, Gabon, Sierra Leon, Gambia and Angola. It is a well-known fact that majority of blacks in Brazil and Cuba are yoruba descendants. Blacks from quite a few caribbean countries such as Haiti, Bahamas and others are descendants from the Igbo tribe. If her mother did a DNA test and the result of that test confirmed that she's igbo, why dismiss it? It is a shame that history is not taught in Nigerian schools. |
Exactly. She choose the wrong example. Do you know how far New Zealand is from Nigeria? Then consider accommodation and other expenses. Also, the woman herself is not exactly the prettiest thing since sliced bread. Now if she had above average "beauty", that would be another topic entirely. These motivational speakers need to tone down their lies. Not all of us are gullible. truthsayer009: |
Bro, what you said is the gospel truth. I have been saying this for ages, no man who legitimately struggled to make his money will now waste it on women. It doesn't make any logical sense. Even rich ajebutter kids don't do it. Some do but most won't as they are very selective of the women they roll with. Most of these women are only entitled because of the money politicians, Yahoo boys and entertainers spend on them. pacespot: |
Don't mind her! Doing a waitering job abroad is very different from doing a waitering job in Nigeria. The fact that he is furthering his education abroad means that he is not what you call "poor". He already had potentials. It was just a matter of time before those potentials manifested itself. She should talk another thing. Aurelius1: |
You and the people who liked your comment are among the biggest problems in this country. A country of 200 million people is losing its best and brightest to foreign countries and you are not concerned? A country that has a ratio 1 doctor per every 9,000 people is losing even more doctors and you are ignorant of the gravity of the situation? You think that the buck stops with them? More are on their way to join them. Honestly, you lots love suffering and smiling. Don't worry, you will understand the gravity of the situation in a few years time when you will struggle to find qualified medical doctors/nurses to treat you. The politicians that you are defending, including Bubu, receive medical treatment overseas. Continue to live in blissful ignorance. louqas: |
I am so sick of this excuse. Is Nigeria the only country in the world that is gripping with poverty? What about Somalia, Burundi, Congo DR, Haiti or even Pakistan? Majority of people in these countries are poor but they don't destroy their countries image like Nigerians do. The problem with us Nigerians is greed. The average Nigerian is greedy. From the President to the common man in the street, the average Nigerian will do anything to make money. We lack contentment. I am not a saint but the fact of the matter is that there is a huge moral decay in this country that didn't start today. The generation that fought the Civil War started the steady decline of morals in Nigeria. Pentagon007: |
This is exactly what I said two months ago but majority, very predictable, ignored it. The only way for seccession to be a reality is for the south and Middle Belt to come together to for the North to the negotiating table. Every other avenue is a waste of time. bjdon: |
Just like your sister, girlfriend and cousins don't complain about what I'm packing. Don't start what you cannot finish. You aren't on my level academically, socially and intellectually. I was born and raised in V.I. Who are you? You can only chat shit in an anonymous forum like Nairaland. SarakiBukola: |
That's all you can say when you cannot counter someone intellectually. I will not stoop to your level. I will not be surprised if you are below 25. Adios.

|
You are a sick cunt. Just say congrats and keep it moving. There's no need for tribal banter on this topic. If white/arab man said that about your women, how will you feel? SarakiBukola: |
Bros, that advice is necessary. In this 21st Century, the worst thing you can ever do yourself as a man is to let your spouse know all your financial details. Most women aren't considerate. They can use that weakness against you. It's best to set up a joint account where both of you can contribute to running the house. If you are the sole provider, deposit a certain amount that is within your financial bracket. I know that it's not a good way to run a marriage but logic has to overrule emotions for the man's sake. Only tell them what you can afford to disclose. pansophist: |
Trust me, he doesn't know anything at all and he keeps misleading a lot of ignorant people like him. What is the total number of Nigerians that travel abroad compared to the total population of the country?? The average 18 year old in the west has travelled to more countries than most adults in Nigeria. That dude is a visa reject and is using this forum to vent his frustrations. seunny4lif: |
Stop quoting that ignoramus. That clown has never left the shores of Nigeria. You will need therapy after reading a lot of his posts which are mere jargons. Europeans travel more than anyone in the world especially before the pandemic. Flights within Europe are cheap and competitive if you book on time. When I was a student in the UK, i knew quite a few EU students who used to travel to their own countries every weekend. How many Nigerian students can afford to do that? Only the rich kids could afford it. seunny4lif: |
Thank you! Finally, a like-minded person in this forum is saying it as it is! It's not about the money but the ability to travel anywhere without stress. What's the point of making money if you are continuously harassed by Immigration officials abroad because of the passport you carry? Foreign countries don't give a damn about your money but Nigerians don't get it! It's about not limiting yourself to Nigeria. The world is a global village. Having dual nationality doesn't mean that you have to live abroad. Nigerians are really short-sighted. Grace001: |
Exactly. That's why relationships & marriages in this country have gone to the dogs. A lot of successful married men got wives due to the size of their pockets. As such, they feel that is all there is to get a woman and they can use the same trick to sleep with any other woman. A lot of married woman don't care as long as they are "taken care of". When the man disgraces them in public like the late Mr. Ataga, they will now rant that "men are dogs". When he used money to marry you, you didn't know that he was a dog? Materialism has destroyed relationships, let alone marriages, in this country. It's only going to get worse as the economy shrinks and both genders give up their humanity in order to survive this harsh country. truthsayer009: |
You lots keep making the same mistake over and over again. When we tell you to stop dating slay queens you will not listen. When we tell you to stop dating girls from impoverished backgrounds you will not listen. When we tell you to stop dating jobless girls you will not listen. I will give you a free tip. There are two types of women a young hustler should avoid. Those from very poor backgrounds and those from extremely wealthy homes. E get why. Also, women in this country are hustlers. Before they have made up their mind to talk to you, they have already assessed you from the way you dress, your accent, your physical attributes and whether you have a ride. Most girls are not interested in your "character" as a man. All they want to know is you are baller/ on your way to being a baller. How many times have guys from affluent backgrounds have ever being treated this way? Not to often due to the fact that girls know that they have plenty of options and are the prize. You the struggling guy on the other hand, don't have such options. They know that you have no choice but to manage what is in front of you. Think about it. |
The bulk of nairalanders are "educated illiterates". They can't read to save their life. They will tell you that reading is too much stress. This is why Bubu and his clique are running the country with impunity. Most Nigerians are too ignorant to understand issues that affect them. Ejebleje: |
I cannot believe that a human being actually wrote this statement!! ? Even 1st class candidates have struggled to secure a place there. Please do the world a favor and log off from the internet. Go back to school and re-educate yourself. You are embarrassing educated Nigerians. This is why drop outs like Bubu are in the helm of affairs in this country. Tinubuadvocate: |
There's nothing like peace mate. Southerners and Northerners have nothing in common. I don't believe in insulting someone because of what his father has done but people are angry. The economy is at an all time low. Millions of people have been thrown into poverty and destitution. The middle class has almost been wiped out altogether. Nigeria has never been more insecure. What they are doing is insensitive. This affair should be conducted quietly. When Tony Blair's son got married a few years ago, the wedding was done quietly at his estate as he is very unpopular in Britain due to his decision to invade Iraq. Your President promised us that he will not be extravagant like his predecessors but he is even worse. The image he cultivated over the years is nothing but a mirage. The problem is that you lots don't know your rights and love oppression hence why they can do this sort of thing in your face and you will support them. Flames000: |
The irony of this statement…… I will not say what's on my mind so that the silly mods will ban me. EraseTheDot: |
Yes, we Southerners are politically naive and lack foresight. If Yorubas, Igbos, Niger Deltans and middle beltans come together, all this nonsense that Fulanis are doing will come to an end. The core North have been playing everyone for decades and we still haven't wisened up despite our vaunted education. If you want to know what I am talking about, look no further than what has happened since Bubu was elected in 2015. Herdsmen and indigenous communities in the middle belt such as Benue, Plateau and Taraba have been killing each other. What did everybody else do about? Nothing. As far as the south was concerned, it's a Northern problem that should be settled amongst "brothers". Well, this "Northern problem" has slowly evolved to something else. When the army sent troops to invade the Southeast in an operation called "python dance", no one cared about what happened to them. They saw Igbos as a nuisance that needs to be dealt with. Nnamdi Kanu and his disciples didn't help matters. If they had foresight, they would have sought alliances with other aggrieved ethnic groups. However, they alienated everyone with their utterances. They need to understand that you need the South South as an equal partner. They have the resources, ammunitions and ports. They need to patch up any differences they have with Yorubas as they have the manpower and resources to match the North. When Fulanis invaded the Southwest and started killing the natives, others kept quiet. They saw it as a "family squabble" between Yorubas and Northerners. This is not the case. Now the President has threatened genocide on a whole tribe and everybody else is mute. In a sane society, he would have been impeached. People would be out on the streets demanding for his resignation. I am not saying that we all have to like one another (that's not going to happen) but the only solution to Nigeria's problem is when the whole South and middle belt come together and force these people to come to the negotiating table. Otherwise, talks of Biafria, Oduduwa or any other republic is a waste of time. Nobody can do it on their own. P.S. I am not calling for any violent breakup. We need restructuring. Complete decentralization of the country. The only people benefitting from the current setup are the elites which cuts across tribes. The masses will suffer regardless. |
More likely an Arsenal fan. No United fan will want City to win the Champions League. Especially not after losing the Europa Cup. Enecleb20: |
For the life of me, I will never understand the obsession with marriage in this part of the world. There are many reasons why "decent people" are still single. The most crucial is the economy. People say that there's more to life than money. Try getting pampas for your kids, then you will understand. Try getting a decent apartment with low salary then you will understand. Another reason why decent people are still single is the societal expectation that a man must cover all the family's expenses. "Your money is our money and my money is mine alone". You see that statement? That statement has sent many men to their untimely graves. Another reason why decent people are single is because they want to. Not everyone wants to get married. Majority do obviously but not all. You also have to understand, the rugged nature of this country is so great that most people don't understand the concept of love. Many people have being programmed to have a survival instinct which means that issues such as love and character are out of the door. What matters is what the respective gender can offer. Many women see marriage as a means of escaping poverty while a lot of men believe that the only thing women respect is money and they feel that they can get a woman's love with money. Tell me why there wouldn't be so many single people with that kind of mindset? |
Bruh, look it up. The Baltic states are doing much better than Russia. Estonia's GDP per capital alone is 4 times that of Russia. Just go on Google and other reliable sources. somehow: |
Thank you! We southerners are not streetwise! We complain about Abokis taken over Government parasitals but we aren't willing to fight for our place in those same Agencies. Since he's a graduate and his parents have contacts, it will be easier for him to get rapid promotion compared to others. Plus, it's a better route to move abroad compared to masters that doesn't guarantee you a job once you graduate. We need more southerners in the Government more than ever. Solatium: |
It's more prosperous than MOST of the 15 countries that broke out not all. As I said previously, the Baltic states are doing better than the rest of the former Soviet Union. Otherwise, I get your point. Breakup should ideally be a last option. The issue is that our differences outweighs our similarities. We don't have much in common that makes us "Nigerians". somehow: |
I agree. In the UK, there are a lot of 15-16 year old girls that looked like they were at least 18 if not 20. I nearly fell for it when I was a younger lad. As you rightly said, the ball is in the man's court to use his sense and respect himself if he is much older. truthsayer009: |
About 15 countries if I am not mistaken. Yes, not all of them are doing well but that is besides the point. The point is that a peaceful separation can lead to the development of SOME countries. Not all. What we have atm is not sustainable. Look at Yugoslavia. After a nasty breakup, some of the countries that were part of it became very successful (Slovenia & Croatia). While some are doing okay (Serbia). somehow: |
Too many pedophiles in this forum. How can you be aroused by a 15 year old girl?? This is why Baba Ijesha and other pedophiles have a lot of supporters here. One pervert even said that he's going to eat her . No wonder most of them slut shamed rape victims. Sick people. |
