What currency were they trading with.... |
ogbonnaya4all:So what exactly did u do with the 245 thousand naira loan u collected... Now u asking for another 145 thousand... How much is your college's school fees.... Or how did u accumulate so much debt within a short period.... |
Ugosample:I don't think it's that bad in Europe... There's actually upward social mobility for immigrants... At least, I'm sure of UK... The new home Secretary is indian while the chancellor of exchequer is Pakistani... Upper class british indian elites are so well grounded that they now have there own exclusive n expensive neighbourhood.... Asian kids now dominate grammar schools which is a kind of elitist high school like our own unity schools... I think we African immigrants just don't understand and understudy the system enough to make something out of it... We always waiting for someone somewhere to lift us up or give us the cookies without making much effort.... That's what I've noticed of african immigrants in Europe... I don't know if it's different in usa... |
Ugosample:I used to have the same orientation on socialist economy until I saw the evil of brutal capitalism as practiced in the USA... Let's face fact.... Everybody cannot be rich.... Everybody can't go to uni to study machine learning or data science- these are careers that can fetch u 200 thousand dollars fresh out of school... Not everyone will turn their ingenuity to creativity.... Not everyone has the skill to navigate the tough waters of entrepreneurship.... What's happening right now in America is that they producing millionaires faster than any other country in the world..... America boasts of 14 million millionaires, the closest country in 2nd place is China with 3 million millionaires-the difference is clear..... But yet in the same America, middle class Americans have to work 2 jobs with both couples fully employed to pay for mortgage.... If u know the true meaning of the American dream as it existed in the 60s, u will know America is gradually losing it.... American median wages is nothing to write home about... 70% of Americans earn below 50 thousand dollars, while the median wage is 30 thousand dollars... That's pathetic, when compared to other western countries... In the future, the American social class will either be the wealthy elites or the struggling working class... There has to a balance, ordinary citizens needs to be protected... That's not happening in America and it's wrong... |
Ugosample:I agree America remains the best place for immigrants to achieve fast upward mobility.... But it's also becoming a place where immigrants stuck at the bottom gets to struggle a lot... Minimum wage is poor n social safety net is non existent... As an immigrant, it's either u work your ass off or u die trying... There are no other options... In other western nations, immigrants can choose to be lazy or mediocre at best, and still find a place within the system to survive n even get by.... |
franchasng:Now u beginning to talk nonsense.... Most likely out of ignorance coupled with hatred... My friend's wife works in financial compliance sector in uk and earns 90 thousand pound a year. The amazing thing is she works from home.... She was born and grew up in uk, the same people u calling to leave.... I doubt any other ountry can offer her such wages with good working flexibility.... Then u talking about billionaires in usa.... How many billionaires are in usa...600 So what happen to the rest.... For your info, USA has the worst median income among developed nations..... The country is so skewed to favour only the rich and few upper middle class.... U can't work in Wal-Mart or MacDonald and make something out of your life.... Student loan debt is real and is becoming a huge burden on fresh graduate.... The American dream is gone, the greedy Corporate globalist in wall street killed it.... America now cater only for its wealthy n powerful.... The average American is left behind, dropping from middle class to working class.... The american quality of life for average citizens sucks... Unless your kids attend expensive private schools, they are better off in Mayflower, ikenne or any nigerian FG unity schools.... American public education has now been declared a disaster... I don't even want to talk about healthcare. Last year, over 500 thousand Americans travelled abroad to receive medical treatment in 3rd world nations like India, Mexico, Brazil, Thailand etc... Potholes are now regular sight on American highway.... Yet u had the nerve to attack uk on its infrastructure..... Trump himself lamented on American crumbling infrastructure.... UK is planning it's 3rd high speed rail that will link London to Scotland.... Your almighty america is hoping to have its first HSR in 2029... Even the so called social mobility is being a mirage for most Americans.... Right now in the USA, the system is designed in such a way that if u are rich u can never become poor.... and if u are poor, it's going to be extremely difficult for u to be rich.... This is 2019, there's no perfect country anymore... Even most developed western nations have come to accept that reality.... America has its great side- good career progression, better opportunities in most career fields, strong IT sector, good universities, great centre for innovation n creativity.... But don't make it look like other countries are shitty or lags behind... America is not even among the top 15 most prosperous nations anymore... It's number 17 while uk u claim is shitty is 7... |
Sirmuel1:Believe it or not... Canada is simply overrated..... |

haaaaaaaaa:If the doctor is a nigerian....trust me, his name will be splattered for all to pronounce.... |
Graduateacher:Traditional wedding is the marriage of our culture... U don't need to pour libation or render any offerings if u not into such practice... Most people even get their pastors to pray for them during the wedding ceremony... Traditional wedding is the valid ceremony in Nigeria that recognise a couple as husband and wife.... That's why all churches now insist couples must first sort out the traditional wedding before proceeding for church wedding... No church in Nigeria will join u as couples without performing either the court ceremony or the traditional wedding.... So it begs the question....why perform 2 or 3 weddings when the church recognises traditional wedding as valid.... Why does the church join together those who are already married.... It completely illogical and leaves room for ambiguity...the reason for this recurring arguments.... I think this problem emanated from the Yoruba culture, where the traditional wedding is called engagement and people see it as partial fulfilment of marriage rites.... Especially among the Yoruba middle class.... The easterners don't have such problems... Once u pay the bride price.....shikena, the bride is yours.... The bride even follow the groom home same day.... And I know most brides' parents don't even bother to attend the white wedding especially if the venue is in the groom's place.... It's good we having this discussion.... White wedding is irrelevant and an unnecessary burden on young couples.... It has no place on our value system, culture or even the constitution.... Couples are free to proceed to any religious institution for blessing post wedding ceremony.... That's ok and I think their role should be limited to that.... |
Nat404:Like.... |
Arysexy:See utterances coming from the foul mouth of someone assuming the role of Christ advocate.... Claiming he's fighting for the church... mhenn... Christianity in nigeria has lost it.... And this one will pray wants to live long quoting the scriptures..... |
Arysexy:U very ignorant .... That's all I have to say... |
shortgun:U just clutching at straws.... Neither your stance nor your post is backed by factual evidence.... Boaz was a wealthy man who noticed a woman picking left over on his field.... That was a common practice for poor women and widows in those days....Ruth 2:8-9. Boaz was just being generous and kind.... He had even forgotten about Ruth after their initial encounter...Ruth 3: 8-9. There was no issue of marriage or relationship... The story changed when Ruth slept at his feet and shared same cloak with him.... Boaz even had to seek opinion of elders before he could accept Ruth's proposal.... There nothing wrong if a woman expresses love to a man she desires or even makes the first move... Maturity and understanding is all that matters... |
President Trump said on Twitter Sunday that "'Progressive' Democratic Congresswomen" should "go back" to their countries — even though three of the four lawmakers he was seemingly referring to were born in the U.S. and all are American citizens. His tweets drew disgust from House Democrats, who called them racist and xenophobic. On his tweet, he wrote... "So interesting to see 'Progressive' Democrat Congresswomen, who originally came from countries whose governments are a complete and total catastrophe, the worst, most corrupt and inept anywhere in the world (if they even have a functioning government at all), now loudly ... and viciously telling the people of the United States, the greatest and most powerful Nation on earth, how our government is to be run," he tweeted Sunday morning. "Why don't they go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came. Then come back and show us how ... it is done," the president wrote. "These places need your help badly, you can't leave fast enough. I'm sure that Nancy Pelosi would be very happy to quickly work out free travel arrangements!" Mr. Trump was almost certainly referring to a quartet of newly elected non-white Democratic congresswomen who have been outspoken critics of the president and his administration. Three of those lawmakers — New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Michigan Rep. Rashida Tlaib and Massachusetts Rep. Ayanna Pressley — were born and raised in the U.S. The fourth, Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar, came to the U.S. from Somalia when she was 10 and became a citizen when she was 17. All four women, who have come to be known as "the Squad," broke ethnic and gender barriers when they were elected last year. Omar and Tlaib are the first two Muslim women to serve in Congress. Pressley is the first black congresswoman to represent Massachusetts. Ocasio-Cortez, at 29, became the youngest woman ever elected to Congress. The president's tweets come amid a dispute between House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the progressive lawmakers, who have grown impatient with Democratic leadership. The back-and-forth has spilled out into public view over the past two weeks, after Pelosi seemed to minimize the influence of the new members. Ocasio-Cortez then accused Pelosi of "singling out newly elected women of color." All four of the freshmen congresswomen fired back at the president on Twitter -- and the president later fired back at them. Omar said the president is "stoking white nationalism [because] you are angry that people like us are serving in Congress and fighting against your hate-filled agenda." Ocasio-Cortez reminded Mr. Trump that she's from the U.S. "You are angry because you can't conceive of an America that includes us. You rely on a frightened America for your plunder," she said. Despite her differences with the group, Pelosi rushed to defend them from Mr. Trump's tweets. — Nancy Pelosi (@SpeakerPelosi) July 14, 2019 "When @realDonaldTrump tells four American Congresswomen to go back to their countries, he reaffirms his plan to "Make America Great Again" has always been about making America white again," Pelosi wrote on Twitter. On Sunday night, Mr. Trump doubled down. He took to Twitter again to reply to the Democrats who'd spoken out against his earlier missives, saying, "So sad to see the Democrats sticking up for people who speak so badly of our Country and who, in addition, hate Israel with a true and unbridled passion. Whenever confronted, they call their adversaries, including Nancy Pelosi, "RACIST." Their disgusting language... ... ....and the many terrible things they say about the United States must not be allowed to go unchallenged. If the Democrat Party wants to continue to condone such disgraceful behavior, then we look even more forward to seeing you at the ballot box in 2020!" |

Thank your stars u dodge the baby mama bullet... |
rentAcock:How about Sloane Stephens.... She's doing pretty well and has got a grand slam to her name... |
babyfaceafrica:So long as she's mentally stable, the mother should have full custody of her child..... All those saying she should recover first.... What if the disability is permanent....does that mean she would give up custody of her daughter.... When it's a well known fact that people on wheelchair raise kids.... Nigerians n wickedness to women.... |
chloride6:People with mental illness and disability take care of their children abroad... They get the required support if they need it.... No one takes away your children just because u are recovering from an illness... What they doing to that woman is wickedness and mental torture.... If the woman wants her child, she should be returned.... Simple.... Nigerians and support for female oppression is like 5&6... |
Rape is never the victims fault.

Tanzania has suspended the construction of the China funded $10-billion Bagamoyo port project in a major setback for Beijing’s ambitious Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) project. China was to fund the project as a major connectivity initiative in East Africa at a total cost of $ 10 billion. The goal was to turn Bagamoyo in into a large city like China’s Shenzhen. The project included railways and roads to oil fields. The aim was that, on completion, Tanzania would have built the largest port in Eastern Africa. Chinese President Xi Jinping signed the project agreement in March 2013. However, the newly elected Tanzanian President John Magufuli does not consider this project to be a critical investment. He indicated that the conditions of this project were “exploitative and awkward.” According to the agreement, China “rents” the port for a century (99 years) and Tanzania does not have a say on who else can come and invest in the port once it is operational. Magufuli has alleged that the China has presented “exploitative and awkward” terms in exchange for financing. Chinese financiers set “tough conditions that can only be accepted by mad people,” Magufuli told local media. “They told us once they build the port, there should be no other port to be built all the way from Tanga to Mtwara south,” Magufuli told a delegation of business people at State House in Dar es Salaam on June 14. “They want us to give them a guarantee of 33 years and a lease of 99 years, and we should not question whoever comes to invest there once the port is operational. They want to take the land as their own but we have to compensate them for drilling construction of that port,” he said. Magufuli also claimed that Chinese port would have undermined the ongoing $522-million expansion of Dar es Salaam port that would enable it triple its current capacity when complete by the end of 2019. In addition, Magufuli said the $50-million given out to compensate those displaced by the new port project “did not reach the beneficiaries in Bagamoyo but was diverted to benefit few individuals in Dar es Salaam.” Tanzania Ports Authority Director General Deusdedit Kakoko told a media briefing in mid-June the Chinese had also asked Tanzanian government to guarantee compensation for any loses during the project implementation and several tax waivers including lands tax, workers’ compensation tax, skills development levy and customs duty and Value Added Tax. https://m.economictimes.com/news/international/world-news/tanzania-president-terms-bri-port-project-exploitative/articleshow/70109612.cms |

Gerrard59:Comparing coloniasm is to institutionalised slavery and racism is an insult to the victims of the later.... Black Americans have come a long way and I make bold to say whatever foreign minorities enjoy today in America is the hard work and sacrifice African Americans made to bring about equity and equality to all irrespective of colour or race.... Yet some foreign ignoramus who never suffered, yet couldn't bring about development or prosperity to their own land, think they have an opinion.... Yeye they smell.... |
Parrot69:That one dollar a day is inclusive of those working and not working... That means those working must earn enough to cater for those outside the work force i.e children and aged... That's how the poverty level per dollar is calculated.... |
Infinityk:I agree Nigerian Americans are not the most successful.... But the claim they are the most educated is valid... |
SIRTee15:I wrote this beautiful piece before the COZA scandal between bisola and pastor biodun came up..... It's a good thing my article validated itself by this glaring evidence that cannot be denied.... A pastor raped a naive 17 year old from a conservative Christian background.... A poor girl who just left secondary school and trying to find her feet in her own world..... The amazing thing is that bisola had elder sisters who are more into trending n liberal Christianity..... bisola even described their dressing and fashion sense too ungodly for her comfort.... The question is why didn't pastor fatoyinbo gun for those matured sisters..... The answer is simple...they are not vulnerable... Despite their liberal dressing styles and possibly liberal sexual attitude..... They wouldn't take nonsense from any man who dares take advantage of them.... It's their decision to have sex with whoever they please.... Pastor biodun the rapist knows this and that's why the elder sisters were off his track.... The vulnerable one is bisola who just left secondary school and still see life in black and white... She will later get to learn that there are plenty shades of colour n life is never black or white.... The rapist's prey is just like the lion hunting for spoil.... The weak, the naive, the vulnerable, those easily to manipulate, These are the ones they can exert their male dominance upon forcefully with minimal inconvenience...... The above is independent of provocative dressing or sexual behaviour of ladies....

Konsult07:Get off your comfort zone n lead the protest u passionate about.... Those protesters are doing something...protesting against what they feel is wrong.... What protest have u organised or led against money laundering or govt corruption.... Have u called for one n u didn't receive a positive response.... The annoying thing now is if we call for a march against Buhari's hopeless govt, your likes will not be seen on the protest ground... The other day, Tuface called for protest against poverty and govt incompetence... The same Nigerians criticized him telling him to mind his business..... Funmi iyanda led a protest against the exploitative toll gate at lekki, she was beaten by the nigerian police... Madam obi protest for chibok girls is still very much alive, all she got from Nigerians was ridicule n mockery.... These are celebrities taking action n leading protest.... What about u.... Bunch of lazy arm chair critics or should we say rapist sympathizers.... |
Iyajelili:If truly u are a woman... U look like someone who will blame her underage daughter for being raped... Anytime she makes a mistake... U will remind her she's stupid and that was why she was raped.... |
