MITCHELL96:Dude, you made a mistake. Simple. No need to be all defensive or even go offensive on those that called you out for it. When you see them making a similar mistake, call their attention to it too. But till then, you're the one that messed up today, and you should take responsibility for it and stop there. This idea of calling in Buhari, Tinubu and Atiku on a such an open-and-close case instead of just acknowledging your mistake and moving on is childish and simply shows you have a hard time owning up to your errors. |
budaatum:No. By being being here alone, you're already making millions for Seun. You can't pay him to make money for him. |
Hahaha... Elon. |
Poor lady will be sacrificed. Tell me, what do you think would have happened if she had said to the former vice president's wife, "no, I will never carry your bag cause it's not my job"? |
leody:Are you guys not ashamed of this boyish defense of the masculine gender even to the point of stupidity? If it was a lady misbehaving this way, you people would be screaming "fear women", "that gender", "Nigerian girls", etc. Now, it's a guy and you and the chatinent person are looking for things to add to the story just to give him a soft landing. Someone that has been maltreating a kid, you think he needed so much provocation to slap an adult? Whatever she might have said, how can that possibly justify coming to her shop to hit her? You read this entire story and how the poor lady's source of income was destroyed and you're more interested in defending a gender? Like the OP rightly said, you guys have become extremely toxic in that country. You think you're being a man, but you're just creating a very dangerous environment for yourselves and for the next generation. |
Slynation:Of course, you'll rush to defend. Everyday, we read things like "fear women", "women are thier own problems", "Nigerian girls are useless", "that gender,", etc. In fact, it is a norm for Nairalanders to refer to the entire female gender when talking about women. And nobody cares to tell these guys not to generalize. But once a slightly similar statement is made about men, you leave the entire story and ignore its seriousness just to focus on that one line. I mean, you read this sad story from the beginning to the end, and your first reaction to call out the OP for that line? Well, like it or not, men of these days are not the same as men of before just like the women are changing too. Imagine what this thread would have been like if it was the lady misbehaving this way. Women would have been called unprintable names and anyone that tries to defend them would be called a hoe if it's a lady or a simp if it's a man. You know this is true because we're all on this same Nairaland. |
Graceunlimitedd:It is just football, oga. Everyone argues football. You guys can't argue with a lady without the gutter name calling. If it was a guy that expressed his opinion, would you have called him a hoe? Nawa o |
lhordspy:You guys type like secondary school student discussing Jackie Chan and Jet Li with childish excitement. A missile was fired, one would think an adult would be discussing the diplomatic issues between the two countries, the time-lines and possible solutions. You're here shouting balls and wagging your tails like a child bathing naked in the rain. You don't even know what happened. All you know is to call the USA in every situation. |
It hasn't failed, you're already pointing fingers. Anyway, who's the person? The other guy in white? It's 2022. |
deavicky:I may not agree with the guy you quoted, but after reading his comment and yours, it's obvious you're the one commenting like an under-the-bridge kind of person. If you were educated, you would have known that calling him a person with a low IQ because you didn't agree with his opinion is a very uncivilized way of making your point. |
ganisucks:I am not a fan of Buhari, but I suggest you stick to what you know, and leave the things you don't know. There's nothing specifically called a trigger for PTSD. It could be anything situational, physical or even imaginary. Even a baby's cry could be a trigger depending on the circumstances. And this has nothing to do with gender. Mental health is not a respecter of gender. Don't jump into everything ans make insensitive/uninformed comments. Have some respect for those that have PTSD. |
This doesn't make much sense though. He's campaigning to be a president, not a governor. He can be anywhere. In fact, he needs to spend more time outsidehis comfort zone. |
If girls come here to write trash every time a man hits on them, you think NL will be enough to contain all the threads? You lot don't have the capacity to take what you dish out everyday. Oga, if you don't like her, you have the power to make her stop. You're obviously enjoying the attention as it boosts your ego/self assurance. That's why you were eager to come and tell your fellows here that a woman is after you. |
The ghosts have to eat too. |
ZombieSlayer1:Of course, America. That's the only response you supporters of aggression have. Your research told you America wants to attack Russia through Ukraine and Putin making those cities part of Russia is a such a great mitigation, right? You realise this isn't the first time Putin is annexing a Ukrainian city or ? You realise he has been doing this even before the agitation to add Ukraine to NATO? Your research justified Putin killing people but didn't tell you why Ukraine wanted to join NATO? According to you, if Putin says they shouldn't join, then they shouldn't regardless of what they're going through in the hands of Russia, right? When it started, you guys said Putin never wanted to invade Ukraine and that Western media were just creating unnecessary fear. When it eventually happened, Putin told you guys his men were in Ukraine for a peacekeeping mission. Then later, he said they were there make the oppressed independent regions, and now he wants the make those cities Russian cities. Do you need CNN or Aljazeera to tell you this has always been the plan? If they're made Russia cities, how does that solve the issue of NATO? And no, what you described is not "herd mentality". It is called the "bandwagon" mindset. Know the difference. Dude, the only reason Russia didn't want Ukraine in NATO was because he knew he wouldn't be able to take these cities so easily if the country was a member. And the only reason why he rushed in even when Ukraine had not yet been accepted by NATO was to do it before any progress could be made in that regards. Almost all Russian neighbours are already NATO members, so could do without Ukraine. If at this point, you still believe this was all about NATO, then it's obvious why you guys elect dumb politicians in that country. |
Every small thing, Nuclear. The fact that they have these bombs and the materials to make them is the only reason Russia can afford to hold the world hostage. Putin would rather nuke the entire planet that go down alone. He's taking some parts of another country and some people here are supporting him on the basis of thier hatred for the West. Most Nigerians can't separate concerns or get rid thier herd mentality. |
Sometimes I wonder if Nigeria is a small village. Or maybe it's the bloggers that lack things to write about. Otherwise, why do people care so much about what others are doing with thier lives? I wouldn't even know if my next door neighbor got married to an ancestor. If both parties are happy, what's my business? |
UCHIHAmask:Stop wasting your time. A thief will always be a thief. They just found a new way of stealing. He's saying interest rate as if he didn't know about that before borrowing. Very criminally minded people. |
Lama70:There's nothing astonishing here. If you don't have a sure way of paying back, don't borrow. Borrowing without plans of paying is exactly the same as stealing. Hardships is not a justification for theft. |
KEVIND:The last sentence implies Tinubu will win because that's the only way Nigerians will regret it. I hope you know that. |
godstino:Voilà ! Glad I could help! |
descarado:This your theory is somewhat trashy and I'm sure you know it. Most actors stop acting at some point. It's a natural process. |
You wanted to make her seem vulnerable with your text and she matched you word for word. Now you're on NL asking for manual just like most NL guys. |
OfficialP:The music videos you watch everyday show almost nude women shaking thier backside in suggestive ways. They are far dirtier than anything you could ever see on BBN, yet no one is complaining. It's OK not to like the show, but pretending you care so much about morality is laughable. |
Lol... NL people. Ma'am, if you don't watch the show, leave it for those that do. Creating a thread to announce you didn't know a single housemate or that you don't watch the show as if some of sort of achievement is kinda funny. |
Indeed, a friend told you. Oga, step down from your imaginary high horse. You watched that show from beginning to the end. If football tournaments don't stop anyone from discussing politics, BBN is too small to be a headache. Y'all should stop this "I'm better than them" bullshit. What exactly have you done to support Obi apart from coming online to engage in tribal wars? Who told you that those that watch BBN cannot also support Obi? Last year, you watched the show, this year it's useless; all because you want to belong. Ndi politics. It is your type that would be drinking garri and crayfish at home in Ijebu Ode and still come online to type "this year's winter is harsh!" A friend told you. Lmao. Even those that don't follow the show saw it on FP that it's ended, but insecurity made you to pin it on an imaginary friend. |
He is a pedophile. He only came up with that story cause he knew it would appeal to most Nigerian guys: "my girlfriend disappointed me". |
It's not about the material but the style. You probably chose those pictures to make it seem all bad, but I can still see a lady wearing it in a decent way. When it's not too tight and the top is completely covers the hip, I think it's OK. The whole idea is to cover your body and your curves. |
Chicagoesontop:Lol... he'd end up "dashing" the OP some money. |
She did what she could afford. Nice. Others should do what they can afford too. |
It's amazing how many of you are viewing Nollywood through the lense of the free movies you watch on some of these channels. Not saying the industry is the best, but when you go to Netflix or the cinema, you'd see recent interesting movies with good cinematography. The free movies you watch at home on these channels are either old movies or low budget movies. What you get is what you paid for. It's called scaling. And for some, they feel "they belong" when they watch foreign movies and not the local ones. To them, it's a thing of prestige. The truth is, you're not better than anyone for preferring coleslaw to abacha. At then, they're both preferences. You think Nollywood is unrealistic for having a movie called The Pregnant Ghost but you'd gladly watch one in which one person kills hundreds of men in one blow. At the end, they're both movies having entertainment as the primary goal. |
So because those kids turned out to be bad adults, adoption is not longer worth it? The way you guys reason things in Africa is just mind blowing. And the FTC guy is calling others emotional. The person that used an instance of an unwanted outcome to judge the entire situation is not emotional, it is the person telling him that's not how it should be that is emotional. So because Evan's parents gave birth to a child who turned out to be a deadly kidnapper, giving birth is no longer worth it, right? This is exactly why there's so much hate in Nigeria. One Yoruba person does something you don't like and to you "Yoruba people are not worth it". A lady commits a crime and to you "Nigerian women are wicked". The herd mentality is strong. It is only when it comes to your own herd that you begin to apply individualism. Epigenetical research has made us understand that the environment has an overwhelming effect on gene expression. There's an insanely high probability those children that turned out to be yahoo boys and whatever were influenced by thier environment and/or lack of proper parental guidance. Without the intention of going into the popular nature vs nurture debate, it worth mentioning that regardless of whatever behaviors your genes are predisposed to, if you're not exposed to the triggers or external factors that would ignite them at the formative stage of your brain, they wouldn't automatically manifest when you become an adult. Even the good guys you see today have some genetical predispositions that they don't even know about because they grew up in environments that don't support them. Doing yahoo is not an emotion like anger, happiness, etc. It is a well thought out process that demands acquired skills. For one to go into it, you'll have to have the need, know about it, know about the possible outcomes, have the desire, acquire the skills, have the necessary platform, etc. These are mostly environmental factors. I'm not downplaying the influence of genes on the way we reason, I'm saying environment plays more roles. And it makes zero sense for you to decry abortion because of the few bad outcomes while ignoring all the good ones. There are many couples that can't give birth. There are many children in orphanages that don't get the proper care they need either due to the lack of one-on-one attention or the lack of funds . Decrying adoption is the most unreasonable thing to do at this point, especially when it comes from someone that doesn't have reproductive issues. |
