Thanks for replying however i didn't study French education just pure French. Also, i'm not sure i stand d chance of teaching French to the Canadian. What do u think? If you studied France French and you're bilingual what's the issue ? Get your degree credited and attend teachers college. 8 Likes 2 Shares |

Rence22: Have you tried the tricks exposed on this website " zero2hired" I have gradually started putting his advice into practice. Please check it out. If you haven't been able to get pass the interview stage, then there is something you are missing.
Thanks for the pointer, I will check out the website. I personally believe I either dont answer the interview questions satisfactorily, I dont prepare well or probably the job wasn't meant for me. This is because I have been able to pass an interview relatively easily for a government job that is not along the career line I desire to go into. I just believe most of the challenges we face as immigrants will sort itself out with time and with a lot of perseverance. 8 Likes 2 Shares |

gogedda: Finally landed 2 weeks ago as a single man. Passed through Immigration and customs without no problem in MMIA. Both Luggage were over 23 kg while carry on was over 7 kg. The guys at Ethiopian airline stand allowed me to add more weight to the carry on to make it 12kg while the luggages were left at 25kg each. Trip to Adisabba was long, and then Dublin and then Toronto. Couldn't eat the food served in the plane, only ate the bread and Red wine. Landed on Saturday, went through immigration and customs in Toronto without any problem and then the final leg of the journey to Calgary. I am currently staying with a friend who is married. I have done my SIN, Health Card, bought a sim, visited 2 immigration services (CCIS and Mustard seed ministry) in downtown. I was able to get a reduced bus pass for the month of June and paid $37.5 instead of $104 or so. If you are less than 30yrs, You can visit CCIS, they have a 2 weeks employment training. I met a Nigerian there and he told me about the training and also showed me his check . If you attend it without missing a class , they will pay you $900. I couldn't do it cos I am over that age. I have also learnt the bus and train route system after downloading the Calgary transit app. I am also currently studying for the Alberta driver's license exam. Both fields that I have experience in (Geoscience & Real estate )are licensed here, so I am currently looking for a job while I prepare to do a 2 yrs course in SAIT. Please kindly link me up if you have any. Thanks The pass should be 5 dollar a month. If you have your tax return done |

GozyNA: You can ride the C Train in Calgary for free either way between City Hall and West/Kerby Stations along 7 Avenue. If you’re leaving downtown better pay your fare ‘cause if officers catch you, your name na sorry If they catch you, money wey you go pay ehn...or you go court go argue am. 6 Likes |

Emirett: According to statistic, Canada is one of the best places for living. Actually, I haven't been there yet but hope to visit at least. Who can recommend good places to stay and is it possible to buy cheap flights? Depends on what your budget is? From Nigeria , you’re gonna spend at least (during off peak) 1K CAD maybe more on flights . You can always check travel sites like expedia or check the airline pages directly . Stay incognito or clear your cache each visit to ensure you’re getting the best deals. What you’re looking to do ? Visit ? Live ? Visit - If you want a city vibe , toronto , montreal , vancouver , ottawa are your best options to go visit . These places are also most expensive in this order Toronto > Vancouver > Ottawa > Montreal . If you’re more into the outdoors and nature , Alberta is really nice and is cheaper than above places Live - Depends on factors like family size , career etc . A single young guy / girl looking to work I’ll always recommend a big city , more opportunity though COL is higher . If you have a family semi big city with proximity to a big city is always good Others can add to this 17 Likes 6 Shares |

Confidence? Absolutely not! I'm only trying to make a good decision based on recommendations from those who might know better in this field. Plus it goes without saying that in a country where French is their second official language, they'd have so many natives at their service. It's just the reality. People don't really want to teach. I lectured in a UK college and know this for sure. The teaching profession is very demanding with pay that doesn't match the workload, those natives you refer to avoid teaching. I'll advise you to process your teacher's qualifications here in Nigeria so you can hit the ground running immediately you arrive. 2 Likes |

Calgary, NE registries Taradale, Driver's knowledge test:
Cost was 18.10 with payment by debit card. Presented PR card, health care card and statement mailed me by my bank. Was directed to a computer, turned off my phone and put I the basket beside the computer. There were free ear plugs available.
Answered only 25 questions since I got all correctly.
After the test I submitted my Nigerian licence in application for GDL exemption. Paid 105.94 by credit card for license and exemption. A vision test was conducted. I asked to take a photo of my NG license with my phone and they also made a black and white photocopy for me. Did photo capturing and then told to check back in 3-4b weeks for status of my GDL exemption.
I read the manual cover to cover, every single word. started yesterday and finished this morning. Did 2 AMA tests in between, score 27 and 28. By the time I finished the manual, I got 30/30 in the 3rd AMA.
Basically here to share that the AMA app is very helpful and some questions came word for word. However, reading or at least skimming through the manual is still the best bet.
Also when using the AMA app if you don't know any answer just follow the link to read that section of the manual. 60 Likes 62 Shares |

1 Like |

Dame91: Good morning everyone,
I hope this meets you well.
Please i need detailed advice on what steps to take. our PPR recently came (my husband and I) and I am pregnant now (19 weeks). we intend to come to Canada to do short landing first in September. we will be landing in Calgary and by then i'll be 34 weeks. I heard its difficult booking Doctors in Canada, how true is that? plus is it possible for me to book a Doctor/ make appointments while i am still in Nigeria. Basically, i want to know what steps to take while preparing to travel to avoid any hassle. sorry for any inconvenience and thank you for your time. Cheers! Well didn't have a problem booking for a doctor when I landed and I landed pregnant almost same time. You need to first get registered with a family doctor which is not hard to get I could recommend one for you. But you need your health card to get booked in by your family doctor which you get upon landing . Your family doctor then goes ahead to get you an obstetrician which you will be seeing till you give birth and probably birth your baby . Wasn't so hard anyways I will say land first then you take care of the remaining things. 5 Likes 6 Shares |
