Emmasonic4me:Not to veer off topic or be "that guy", but this your course is a very good platform for switching into data science/analytics with the potential to double that pay of a credit risk analyst. |

TheCongo2:...Please can a three year old child attend kindergarten? Thank you |
| Re: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant Part 2 by TheCongo2: 12:32am On Jul 30, 2022 |
Zeewirld:Kindergarten starts at 4 in most Canadian provinces. However, in some jurisdictions, a 3 year old can be admitted if he is close to 4 year old by September. He can be admitted if he is few month short of 4 year old by September. In other places, a child has to be 4 year old by September 30 to qualify. You should speak to the school to see if your 3 year old would qualify. |

cochtrane:I actually have an eye on that but I'm not really sure how to launch a career in that field. Maybe take a bootcamp afterwards? I know that's your field of specialty as I've been following you for a long time now and I'll be grateful to have you as a mentor in that regards. Please can I send you a PM if you don't mind? |

TheCongo2:You were a credit analyst processing "credit cards", in Nigeria this will fall under operations. Surprised the role is called credit analyst in Canada. In Nigeria credit analyst are the ones who review all the loans and financing needs of companies and businesses and individuals ranging from personal loans, mortgage, project finance, working capital, syndicated loans and all. This is the same thing my role in TD does and I will be given an approval limit of loans I can approved. I'm specifically in the commercial real estate unit, there are others in the personal mortgage unit, project unit and all, it's more diversified here, so no, I'm not reviewing and approving "credit cards". I opened account with a relationship manager I'm Scotia and he "decided" to give me a credit card. He didn't need to consult with any credit analyst. |
| Re: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant Part 2 by TheCongo2: 3:31pm On Jul 30, 2022 |
slydog:I was processing credit cards applications In any case, it seems like what I did as a credit analyst is different from what you will be doing at TD I believe the person who decline to give you a credit card is a credit analyst. How then will he come up with the decision of approving or rejecting the credit card request? He would have to pull up your credit bureau to make the decision. Unless you have told him you are new to Canada and it became obvious that you have no credit rating. I remember back when I was a credit analyst, I could reject some applicants from the onset without even pulling their credit bureau. This usually happened when the applicant was a newcomer or wasn't a resident of Canada. |

Emmasonic4me:Sure you can. Honestly, I think you are already half of the way there with your actuarial background. I'd supposed you also use R already. If you understand some other programming language like python, you just need to find a certificate course in data science and understand exactly what it entails. Then you start shooting your CV out there |

Yes, it is a good idea. Career opportunities are scarce, as they are in Canada. There are fewer opportunities to save. Also, the cost of living in Canada is higher than in the UK, and transportation and services are subpar. While in the UK, there are excellent transportation options at reasonable prices. No insane people are requesting tickets on roads where you can travel safely. In Canada, however, the situation is the inverse. So, in my opinion, moving to the UK from Canada is a fantastic idea. Read this guide. Salary levels in Canada are higher than in the United Kingdom. Because salary is determined by work experience. So, various studies have shown that Canada has a high salary rate. Because Canada is the world's most educated country. |
